Something inspired by Blight: Survival (not as gritty as the source of inspiration though) but with my beloved setting. As always, the outfits are mostly inspired (or based) on 13th century looks. Also not sure if it should be tagged NSFW, guess I will let the mods decide...

WIP diorama of a hypothetical rebellion in Scotland during the return of King James I

Post image

The forces on the high ground allied with a Rebel Knight from the powerful Douglas clan using the imagery of blackened armour to reference "the Black Douglas" a Knight of the wars of Scottish Independence who was known to be a menace to the British using the imagery to call attention to James' friendship with the English King, an idea that proved popular with Highland Clans as well as Celtic Irish and French Mercenaries who had originally come to Scotland in order to raid the British from the North.

Meanwhile King James fights alongside the Sheriff of Ayr and the Baron of Blair two Lowland Lords of the Province of Ayrshire who rely on the King to maintain their own power, the Sheriff maintaining the King's law within Carrick and the Barony being within the King's lands and nearby to where the rebels have been raiding in the countryside North of Irvine near Kilmarnock

Expandable Armour

Hello, I wanted to ask whether expandable armour could be possible? Anyone who thinks or knows of a way it could work out, I need a solution for a character design lol

Can clubs be used in similar ways to swords?

Clubs and swords do have a similar layout, with a short hilt and a long blade/bonking-thingy. In fact, samurai wield kanabo similarly to how they wield katana.

Help me find the most accurate Templar helmet please

Post image
210 Upvotes

i am putting together the most realisitc templar kit i can for ren fair and i cannot for the life of me find what a 12-13th century templar would have worn. i keep getting many mixed opinions and keep reading very mixed historical records, can someone with more knowledge please help me find the perfect design for authenticity?

Like did they really wear the great helm seen in hollywood depictions, was it more of a bucket with a faceplate? were they shiny or worn look?

I appreciate any and all info, i am here to learn! THANKS!

[OC] A Rus' warrior with mystical sword

(Hope I'm not being annoying with my stuff and it fits the theme of the subreddit). The outfit is mostly based on late 14th century (helmet especially) looks and sword is probably centuries earlier (hence why I decided to make it a fantasy scenario with some glowing effect) with 12th century pattern I found in an album dedicated to patterns of 12-16 century Rus'. The sword design itself is completely fictional but based on 9-10th century swords.
Still, hope you will like this one! Artstation
