Govt is shutting down everything, to stop mobility, to stop people from joining the protests, and when common people get affected they're blaming the protestors

They could have changed the protest site to some big empty ground on the borders of Delhi Punjab. And media would defend the "masterstroke" saying the right to protest was not infringed upon

Uncles have invested millions in their business, uncle is understandably scared. I dont blame the traders for anything at all, they just want it to go away so that they can sustain their business.
Besides jo cp thaane ki delhi police apne and bahar k logo k sath aesa kr sakti hai, wo uske sath kya kya kregi jiski shop unke area me hee hai .

IANS is owned by Adani. Are the shopkeepers “protesting” for their livelihood? No. I’ve learned that anybody protesting is an anti-national.

u/Most-Ratio-1960 7h ago
Why not simply open the jantar mantar then....
And secondly whats the problem with peaceful protests... It's the govt which is shutting metro stations and roads and barricading area and sending sepoys there
So I think the problem is in no way with the protestors but with the govt and administration, so uncle should take it to them ....

Go educate yourself. You can not remove the Britishers without asking his majesty the king and the president of USA.
Oh wait you can ?
2
u/Content-Factor-8771 3h ago
I am very much educated 😹🙏and that's why I am not displaying my lack of knowledge and contradiction of the constitution 🙄 one of the one hand people hold constitution on their hand and other hand side play contradiction to it . Please read article 324 and all the clauses maybe then you can comment on my education. So stop playing contradiction card to the thing you yourself claim to believe it and if you don't then tell you don't.

u/indianlungi 3h ago
And if the election commissioner fails to do this job, then? What wait for eternity for the corrupt SC to handle the matter ?
Being against the protest means you have a servitude kind of mindset, and people like you never helped during India's liberation
2
u/Content-Factor-8771 3h ago
😹🙏 you have to "prove" it he has failed to do the job and according to constitution that is the process and if you cease to beleive in that process Carry out a protest to boycott the constitution of make amendments in the constitution. You know you have the burden of proof . I hope you are aware that burden of proof lies on the shoulder of the one accusing. Without proof how can you conclude he's not effective. Secondly wait for eternity for the corrupt sc to handle isn't that process? Isn't that the process that has to be followed? If you are against the process then protest for changes in the constitution as simple as that you cannot change the method na.
Secondly telling me I have a servitude attitude 😹🙏you know I can accuse only when I have to proof i cannot spread propoganda and cause riots in the country. Secondly why aren't the protestors and the opposition party presenting the proof? I hope you know about the 1975 crisis and you know the proof was taken to sc by the opposition with proofs and then it was proved. So in order to prove anything you have to have the data and supporting evidences so why will I support something which is not based on clear statistical data in fact even I doubt if it is a real factual data.

Kya gandu hai kya ? Comment hai why can't gyanesh kumar can't resign. Bhsdk woh resign bhi nhi kar sakta hai kya ?
He is just an officer. Now he should come forward and clear his name. Its the duty of ECI to instill trust in the mind of citizen.
And I don't understand why BJP is getting involved in this. If ECI is independent as they say then what BJP has to loose if CEC changes ?
4
u/Content-Factor-8771 5h ago
Suno bhaiyaa first of all stop abusing me. Try to be civil and have conversations without abuses be a man. Coming to your point why can't gyanesh resign jab proof hoga hi nhi tou kyu resign krega. I recommend you to go and read the 1975 emergency situation and the process how is the election fraud proved if proved then there will be a parliamentary process without fair trial and proof one cannot resign. Process hota hai usko remove karne ka and burder of proof bhut important hai so learn facts before commenting and speaking shit and try to have conversation without abuses
1
u/akshatkhurana 4h ago
The guy calling everyone illiterate asks for civility. Holy crap you guys are really dumber than I thought
2
u/Content-Factor-8771 4h ago
Lmao. First of first of categorising me I was not abusing him if you think that calling someone illiterate based on their senseless comment is not civil and abusing is civil then questions on your moral thoughts. What did I say wrong? Shouldn't you have the basic knowledge of the process of impeachment of members who are a part of the country? Even if he resigns you know that he has to submit a formal resignation to the president , but right now he dosent want to resign voluntarily, and he doesn't have any reason to resign unless and until there is any proof I hope secondly you are aware of the impeachment process and secondly in order to pass the impeachment you need to have valid proof in order to prove that there has been this issue. If you lack knowledge , and speak lame facts and later abuse and that is your moral justification then you are dumb. Secondly on the basis of your categorization on me "you guys are dumber" on what authority are you categorising me that I belong to a particular political party? Did I mention anything regarding the party support or any statement I passed in the mentioned comment? I just told that guy about his lack of knowledge that valid proof is required and if the cec doesn't wants to resign he cannot and if you had to be removed there has to be a process impeachment process.

Go and study what a democracy is first. I don't know ki schooling ka problem hai ya phir society ka....but common sense ekdam bhi develop hua nhi hai tumhara
One person looses his voting right. ECI said you can't vote. Then he challenges it in court and SC tribunal said that no you are a legit voter and reinstated his name in electoral.
So what happened to the vote ? Vote to usne nhi dala to jo election hua usko kaise valid bol sakte hai
ECI ka kaam kya hai pata hai ?? Vote conduct karna....the very reason behind the existence of ECI is to ensure that no valid voter is deprived of voting right.
So agar 1 lakh ka bhai name asia aya (btw court has already cleared lakhs name and there are crores pending) to batao ECI apna kaam kaisa kar raha hai ?
Agar ye tumhare saath hota to tum maan lete ? Agar aisa karke congress aata to man lete ? Vote chori nhi bolte ? BJP nhi chillata, protest nhi karta ?
Tum bachche ho...politics kaisa hota hai pehle dekh ke aao....CEC ka kaam usne nhi kiya hai
Tum agar kaam nhi karoge to tumhare employer tumko nhi rakhega Similarly CEC apna kaam thik se nhi kiya....usko jaana hoga aur jo capable hai usko post chhod dena hoga
Internet achcha ha pata hai Iska matlab ye nhi ki kuch bhi padh ke man lo....dimaag diya hai bhagwan ne usko use karo

Unfortunately my knowledge comes from book and interest of knowing things and not by blabbering things let’s separate emotional rhetoric from actual administrative and constitutional law. You are confusing operational updates with intentional disenfranchisement. Managing electoral rolls for 1.4 billion people is a dynamic process, which is exactly why mechanisms like the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exist under the Representation of the People Ac 1951 to constantly handle additions, deletions, and corrections based on field verification. When a name gets omitted and later restored by a court or tribunal, that doesn't invalidate an entire election or mean the whole system failed; it literally proves that institutional checks, balances, and statutory remedies are working as intended. Under Section 100 of the RPA Act, an election outcome isn't tossed out over roll discrepancies unless it directly alters the final result, and ground-level filing errors happen across all parties, so throwing around allegations of vote theft without proof is completely groundless. My point about Article 324(5) still stands solid the Chief Election Commissioner can’t just be forced out by online outrage or public noise, as the Constitution explicitly protects the office by requiring an impeachment process equivalent to a Supreme Court judge, and demanding voluntary resignation without proving misbehaviour through due process directly attacks institutional independence. If you want to have a real debate, address the actual legal framework and procedures instead of relying on political hypotheticals. Regarding the Supreme Court point, you are actually misunderstanding how the court works. Just because people filed petitions or there are cases in the Supreme Court about voter lists doesn't mean the Election Commission failed or elections are invalid. The court listens to these cases to clean up administrative errors, review forms, and make sure eligible voters are added back through the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process. That is literally how our democracy is supposed to work if the ECI makes a mistake, the courts step in to fix it. If the Supreme Court is actively resolving these issues using standard legal procedures, it proves the system and its checks and balances are working fine, not that the CEC needs to quit over every operational error. . So yes you should know the whole process of to bottom and do yes I do have knowledge.

The gov needs to work better then, if businesses are getting effected then gov needs to listen to the protestors and solve the issue ASAP.
Just because businesses are getting effected does not mean the right to protest should be taken away.

u/Some_Farm8108 8h ago
you do realize if people put pressure on the government to stop protests they will ... stop protests, right? they will simply crack down super hard and everyone will be okay with it because they want it.

Which people? The masses that the government is doing everything from assembling at jantar mantar? From stopping trains and metros to laying seige to Delhi and harassing, molesting, attacking, and kidnapping peaceful protestors?

Government shut down roads and metro while deploying 120000 crpf. Send CEC on probation leave and let cbi report to opposition with a time bound investigation.

Breaking news:
- Local shops had no problems during demonetisation
- They had no problems during the disastrous handling of Covid
- E20 fuel does not affect them at all
But oh no suddenly there is a 7 day long protest going on and suddenly your business is impacted ?
2
u/Distinct_String_1703 3h ago
What disastrous? Shutdown was all over the world. How does e20 impact their business and capital flow? It's only profit margins.. if at all. During demo also.. that was a 1 time measure.. not continuous ... that doesn't stop people from anything.. only physical cash flow.
1
u/indianlungi 3h ago edited 3h ago
There were better ways to handle all this, demonetisation could've happened gradually, we could've slowly transitioned to the new currency while eliminating black money
Anyone who owns a car knows it will be destroyed by E20 fuel
Covid could've been handled better, and don't say the whole world was mismanaged blah blah; I care only about my country, because I am living here, and your excuse can not help the dead
If these are still nothing for the shopkeepers, why complain about govt blockades and internet blackouts when it is the govt doing these things, and not the protestors ?
-1
u/WITCROX 8h ago
Sites nahi di gayi na uncle, if given a place to protest then why bother, also the government shut down network ( can't make upi payments ), banned public transport, apka footfall kaha se ayega, agar log hi nahi aa rahe to, bolo government ko ki protest sites open karein and sari necessities Authorize kare
Aur har bar yeh desh prem gana lagane se point nahi banta apka
3
u/RemarkableBluejay790 8h ago
By that logic, government should bow to demands of rioters to make peace?
1
u/WITCROX 8h ago
Nah man that's a civil right, I don't and people shouldn't get comfortable violating their civil right, I understand that it fits your notion now so you have forgot the ability to think, however if the government gets comfortable and tomorrow it takes our right to report cases or appeal in courts then it's actually done bro, family getting murdered men and women getting raped, everything will be permissible, it's not a long shot but if the government can violate this right then they may violate that too when it serves them the best, cowards.
1
u/Fit_Leading_1111 6h ago
Do you understand the difference between exercising civil right vs responsibly exercising civil right?
I don't think so. What can you expect from people those who say 'har bar desh prem ka "gaana" lagana' that too tiranga march/protest.

You mean protests that are inconvenient to the government shouldn't be allowed to take place. That is fascism. People are and are protesting responsibly and peacefully. People wanted to go to jantar mantar, notified the government well in advance (see: tens of thousands of paramilitary forces moved from across the country in time for protests), and the government chose to lay seige to Delhi. The only option available to the people was to protest responsibly wherever they can reach in Central Delhi and rest of the country. The government continues behaving irresponsibly and committing acts of violence.
What can you expect from people those who say 'har bar desh prem ka "gaana" lagana' that too tiranga march/protest.
Funny coming from a fascist whose favourite government refused to discuss neet and other exam leaks that have become a norm under this government and vote chori, but insisted on passing a bill forcing everyone to sing 6 stanzas of vande mataram at official functions.

u/Fit_Leading_1111 2h ago
It seems you are taking the meaning out of context. I said peaceful protest at the designated area is fine. There are different site in delhi or near by areas.

Fit_Leading_1111 • 2h ago Profile Badge for the Achievement Top 1% Poster Top 1% Poster It seems you are taking the meaning out of context.
You're being a fascist in context.
I said peaceful protest at the designated area is fine.
Despite advance notice sufficient enough for the government to mobilise tens of thousands of paramilitary forces from sensitive areas to Delhi, lay seige to central Delhi, shut down trains and metro, shut down the Internet, the government blocked protestors from going to jantar mantar, a designated protest area, to protest peacefully.
If you think peaceful protest at the designated area is fine, you should be out protesting demanding the three police respect that right.
Instead, you're peddling this government propaganda:
There are different site in delhi or near by areas.
Ramleela maidan has Ramleela going on, and is booked till January. Costs 1.5 lakh per day to book. Burari is far out and is literally marshland right now. Still costs up to 1 lakh per day, no toilets.
The whole idea behind protests in the capital is for them to be seen and heard by the decision makers.
Jantar mantar is already far enough from the parliament and the seat of government for security concerns to be assuaged.
Stop facists who prevented people from protesting at a designated protest site and then banned protests at that designated protest site.
1
u/CommitteeMassive4437 8h ago
These rioters are people who elected the government, who else will the government answer to if not these so called rioters, it's the government's job to take accountability, talk with the protestors and come to a conclusion and not just keep being ignorant
1
u/charavaka 5h ago
RemarkableBluejay790 OP • 2h ago By that logic, government should bow to demands of rioters to make peace?
Which part of the constitution guarantees your right to riot? I only see the constitutional guarantee of right to protest peacefully.
This government has made it a habit to facilitate and promote sanghi riots. For example 2002 gujarat pogrom and 2020 Delhi pogrom.
This government does bow to threats of violence and releases terrorists, whether it be terrorists escorted to kandahar by defence minister or American and Ukrainian terrorists allowed to get bail despite a mountain evidence.
-1
u/WarriorPotential007 8h ago
Govt, through the police, actually let in the rioters (ideological goons) on 10th and 11th October. They were allowed to assault protestors. Their vehicles carrying weapons (Lathis etc) was actually even escorted out by the police!
0
u/WarriorPotential007 8h ago
don't know what other these rioters were demanding which even govt thought shouldn't be agreed. whatever they agreed to (read above) was already something which should not have been accepted!

If uncle wants the city to run properly again, he needs to get the traders association to protest as well. Put more pressure on the government. The government is the one causing the issues he is facing.

u/charavaka 6h ago edited 6h ago
Correct title:
Local lives and livelihoods affected by the fascist clampdown on the constitutionally guaranteed right to protest.
If the government had refrained from disrupting lives and livelihoods and allowed the protestors to exercise constitutional rights peacefully at jantar mantar from the get go, these very businesses would have made more money. Instead, the government chose to disrupt lives and livelihoods of everyone by laying seige to central Delhi. The businesses will do better to channel their anger at the real culprits. The same culprits have also guaranteed massive losses to these businesses with their mismanagement of the economy, irrespective of the protests. Massive inflation has eroded buying capacity of their customers, and things are only going to get worse.

This wouldn't have happened if government would have just listened and acted on the issues.
Goverment was stubborn, government blocked the roads, metros, internet.
Government blocked Jantar Mantar and detained people.
All this because of ego of one person?
And do you think these shopkeepers earn minimum amount? They don't even offer discounts and sell sh*t products at high prices. Only newbies go to their shops mostly, except for some really old tailoring shops who have made a name for themselves.

Go ask modi why he denotified jantar mantar as protest site? No businesses would have been harmed there.

Govt shut down metro
Govt Barricaded and blocked roads
Govt blocked internet, and thus ability to make/receive payments
Govt didn't permit protest at the Jantar Mantar Protest site
