Open Source KSP-RP1 Successor

Hey Guys,

I have been playing KSP and RP-1 for years, and I think it is time as a community we come up with a successor.

With the help of Claude I have been working on a rewrite of a KSP-Like game, and I have gotten pretty far. I think with the help of the community this can become a very exciting project, and allow KSP to be played and enjoyed by everyone.

I have a vision in the future of having multiple modes with multiple levels of realism, mod support, many playable scenarios, with tutorial ect.

Feel free to check it out, and please leave your feedback.

EDIT:

To clarify, I am sorry for sounding arrogant in my post. I am probably not the right person for this job. I really want an open source version of a space game, and will likely never stop working on it. To me the biggest reason is the failure of KSP2. I understand that KSA is great, and I have taken very heavy inspiration from it, however when something is closed source, it means there is a profit motive, meaning that the company can stop working, or lay off workers, or stop development, and we are stuck with a game trying to make it work, if we have the source code there will always be someone who can maintain it, and keep it going. That was kind of my thinking, and why I believe this should exist, I understand that what I have made is not worthy to be called a KSP-RP1 successor

How do you all keep up with history?

In past versions of RP1 staying on track with or ahead of historical progress was relatively easy. With my current game however it's mid 1961 and although I'm doing x-15 flights there is no way I'm going to have the tech for human rated orbit in two years, let alone one, and the Moon by the end of the decade seems completely unreachable. Frankly, there's just not enough cash to hire researchers early and pay for platforms like Thor or Atlas: the tooling and engines are just too darn expensive. So again, how do you do it?

Andrei Dezhnyov and Elizaveta Polushina make history, being the first Kerbal beings to travel to the Moon and back! Their mission lasted 10 days, and marks a historic success for the Soviet space program! The mission used an Earth-orbit-rendezvous between an enlarged Block D launched on an UR-500, and a Soyuz 7K-LOK launched using the R7S rocket (an R7 enlarged by around 20%, to better use the TWR at launch)
