Alone, no way. With the related book, yeah.

My uncle bought the book. My dad copied out the four pages that mattered. My 11 year old self memorized those. I could solve it in two minutes.

I was eventually able to solve two sides, but that was it.

I hate that thing, but then again I hate all puzzles. I like everything to be straightforward.

My sister OTOH could solve it in under a minute.

I could solve it, until the stop using stickers for the colors.

Pretty much. There was one step I did not master and have to do some trial and error, but I get it after a little while.

When teachers couldn't stop us from cubing, they did the smart thing and arranged a Rubix Cube-off contest!

The catch was, they'd hold the contest and once a winner was declared, the cubes went away until next year and we'd do another contest.

Very clever, as of course the fad passed by next year 😅

Then a bunch of us discovered... Basketball spinning! And yup... All because of the Globetrotters. Was it Curly?

I have never solved a cube in my life. Made maybe 3 attempts.

Yes. We would break it apart and put it back together.

In 2 minutes or less… it’s really just learning about 6 or 7 step algorithm. Once you’ve done it a few times, it’s easy. Way better than a fidget spinner
