Hello everyone, I was just wondering how the interviews for software engineer interns are. Just wondering how long it took to schedule the interview after getting the email about the campus programs interview, and how the actual interview process is. Thanks!

I’ve been at Raytheon for about 6 months now, and I am looking to leave. I was given a $2K sign on bonus and in my offer letter it says I “may” have to pay it back if I leave within 2 years. It gives no other information for what would actually qualify for repayment vs non-repayment. This is not a relocation package but just a regular sign on bonus. Has anyone ever had to or heard of paying back a sign on bonus?

Just got an EV and wanted to know if chargers are onsite, where, and if they are free!

I'm currently interviewing for a Systems Engineer II position in FL and wanted some insight on the possible salary.
background:
I previously worked for the same team for about 4 years as a software engineer II so I'm already familiar with the systems, lab, and personnel. I left making 80k. The team needs someone to eventually take over as an SME for one of the tools used there. Regarding the role, I had 2 internal referrals from former colleagues now in senior engineering roles. I passed the phone screening and have an interview scheduled with the hiring manager and engineering panel.
The JD posted a salary range of 68k - 131k but recruiter stated the anticipated salary range is 68k–100k. I asked for 95K–100K, flexible.
How realistic is an offer near the top of the range? Does RTX typically offer returning employees that much?
Appreciate any insight.

Does RTX still report Source Lines of Code (SLOC) as a software metric? Do they still use LCT (Line Count Tool) or Sizer to measure it? If AI is used, do they measure the generated code or the prompt used to generate it? I guess that last option would be Source Lines of Prompt (SLOP), ha!

Hey everyone, just wondering is this a silent rejection after doing the single interview or is the timeline usually this long?

I got an email today adding yet another "Ethics" course to my training requirements. Having already completed the usual two a couple months ago this is unusual. Having it dropped in this late in the year is HIGHLY unusual. And it's due by Dec. 14.
Someone landed in it ankle deep going in head first. Anyone with insight on what happened?

Hey guys, so I interviewed for a position with Raytheon and about a month ago the recruiter reached out to me for background and references check. My references have not been contacted, it’s been over a month. Three weeks ago, the recruiter replied to me saying she has multiple positions she’s hiring for and to wait to hear an update from her.
I just don’t wanna be ghosted at this stage.
Is this normal? Should I send another follow up?

I got a couple interview confirmation emails from RTX after applying a couple weeks ago, and I was told to look out for a scheduling email “in the next few business days.” It has since been 8 business days (almost two full weeks).
At which point should I consider myself ghosted? Has this happened to anyone before?

Hey everyone. I applied for a senior role and I’m not sure if I’m qualified. It’s a mech/design engineering role and yes I have done this but my experience is in biotech.
I have a masters in Mech engineering and 3.5 yoe. The requirement was 5 yoe or 3 with a masters.
I did the hirevue interview and answered questions but when they asked me if I knew a specific program or “composite materials” yeah I have worked with those but probably not the same ones you would use in defense vs biotech.
I got a scheduled date for an interview set to last 1.5 hours.
Any tips or should? Is it a bad idea to go through with it?

Hello! This is my first time posting here. This group is very supportive and informative, so asking for help/advice.
I’m looking for a job as a technical writer/editor. My background is in English literature with masters degree and another masters in Applied Linguistics. I’ve teaching experience with various age groups, editing experiences through volunteer work. I don’t have actual experience in technical writing, or coding or anything related to engineering. But I know basics of HTML CSS and web design/development, other softwares through managing my small business website. So, I’m a self-taught tech person!
I would like to know what other skills I should develop to improve my technical writing editing skills that is most sought by Raytheon and similar companies. If any of you have experience working there as a writer editor, please share your thoughts. I’m in Massachusetts if that helps.
Thank you!
