Question How do yall do it??
I’m seeing people on here saying they’re getting 20-25% off msrp when the nation wide is only 12%. Am I asking wrong or are the dealers I’m talking to assholes?

[ EDITING IS STILL IN PROGRESS PENDING INFO AND LINK POST. This will be the megathread for reference as stated in the earlier MOD post below for common basic questions for users to update and add to at any time for others.]
I will start by saying follow rule #8 please, do your research. GOOGLE IS YOUR FRIEND AND FREE, use it. This RAM sub is not the only sub out there for these trucks. There is ramforum.com , ramforumz.com , 5thgenrams.com , and HDrams.com . Most basic and common questions have been asked many times over. If anything USE YOUR OWNERS MANUAL. If its a common question/post it WILL be deleted. That said, here are some links on this sub to answer questions that are frequently asked (which is what this thread is for, to mitigate repetitive post we see weekly)...

On average change your oil at ~5k miles, change your transmission and differential fluid at 50-60k miles, after that follow your manual.

If the tick goes away when the truck is warm, Its likely your exhaust manifold bolts that snapped/broke and or the manifolds themselves are cracked. If the ticking continues after warm and or constantly, its likely your cam/lifters. Do not post a video of "how does this sound". There is plenty of videos out there with what a tick sounds like and what a normal HEMI sounds like. HEMIs are normal, hearing injectors compared to a tick, you will FOR SURE hear the difference.

2010 Ram 1500 I'm buying from my mother in law. She's a stickler for taking care of her vehicles so I know it's good to go. Only issue with it is when you go to crank it it lags like the battery is dead even though it's a fairly new battery. It's been going on for a while and she even took it to a Dodge dealership and they couldn't figure it out. Can't wait to finally have a truck.

Have 2012 Ram 1500 5.7 Hemi. Only 80,000 miles, month ago it wouldn’t go into any gears. Finally found someone to get around to it, they are saying I need all new transmission/or a replacement. Is it cheaper to just have it rebuilt? My only fear is if I get a different one, will I have the same problems again?? Not sure what the heck to do right now!

Has anyone had their rear diff rebuilt at a shop? Not gears, just bearings. Wondering what they paid and wasn’t private or dealer. I normally do everything but it’s getting cold, I don’t have a lift, and this doesn’t look fun. Lying on my back in the driveway.

I have a 2026 Big horn hemi. Since I’ve been driving this truck It’s been so uncomfortable. My back and legs hurt every time I drive more than 15 minutes. Anyone else have this problem?

trucks been running like shit, found these lines, if i had to guess they connect to each other like how o said in the video, but the fittings are cracked so does anyone know what they are and how i would ask for that at the parts store? also could it be the reason my trucks running like crap?

Upgraded my factory Halogen tails to these LED ones I got off Amazon for a fraction of the price of the OEM ones hoping they last. Been wanting to upgrade to the LEDs for a while and didn't like the look of any of the aftermarket ones (really like the oem style) and couldn't bring myself to spend almost 2k for the oem so I found these for about $200 off Amazon. But man the difference just the taillights change in looks is amazing.

I have a 2018 Ram 1500. I bought it this past July and the door has always creaked. I’ve finally had enough and want to fix it.
Anything I try, lubrication wise, isn’t working. If it does work it’s only for a few days then the noise returns.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
Thank you
(The white stuff is from the expanding lithium grease I tried using)
UPDATE!! I just cleaned and dried the area and applied marine grease to the pin the roller rolls on. I used a punch and hammer to move the roller down. So far so good. It’s nice and quiet… for now

Just came up today. Is this bad? 2025 Ram 1500 bighorn.
r/ram_trucks • u/Fair_Fig8502 • 17h ago
Hey everyone, I purchased this 2026 bighorn 2 weeks ago and had it delivered from Mark Dodge while I am deployed and nearing my return home. My roommate accepted the vehicle, but we assumed the marks were merely road salt. It appears my detailer has invested countless hours attempting to remove the residue, and I am unsure how to proceed. Has anyone encountered this problem? Also I don’t want to hear about how it’s my fault I accepted it, I understand but I’m legit on the other side of the world.

My 2022 Ram 1500 classic with hemi is getting a new engine from the dealership under warranty. Only has 68000 km on it. Was experiencing a knocking noise that was heard from the wheel wells and underneath front end. Dealership said "camshaft journals damaged". They suspect a lifter caused the damage to start. I bought the truck used with only 44000 km on it, previous one owner lease with all the proper maintenance. I took meticulous care of it, oil changes every 3000 or 5000 miles, penzoil ultra platinum spec weight 0-20 (to maintain warranty), didn't idle it in mornings, still failed. It had, I think, 120 idle hours with about 650 total engine hours on it when I bought it. I believe it also sat on the dealer lot for about a year before it sold. Perhaps that's what caused it to fail so early? Can anyone weigh in on why it failed so prematurely?

I have a Duralast alternator on my truck. 99% certain it's a Duralast DL7552. It seems like this is the only alternator that will both mount and wire up correctly. Thing is it's only available from Autozone. I hate dealing with Autozone. I have my reasons. Are there alternatives that will fit and work?
My alternator was locked up from corrosion. I got it freed up but it's not working. Even if it did I wouldn't trust it for much.
I'm new to Mopar. It seems like they did some really weird shit in this era.

Just got back my truck after taking it to the dealer to get repaired for a blown head gasket. It has less than 5k miles, how do you think this will affect the quality of the truck going forward?

My headlights suck. They’re acceptable going straight but I Can’t see to the sides to the point I almost went in the ditch at a stop sign on a country road the other day.
Solutions.

Black on black 2025 Laramie one owner, with 65k miles is for sale near me for 31,000? Would you buy this.. Im trying to stay under 35,000 and this seems like a good deal

Just bought a 2020 Ram 1500 v6. Sticker price was 17,000 after fees and taxes came out to a little over 20,000. I was able to talk it down $750 because of the fees and got new breaks. It has 85,000 miles which I thought was great but found out today it has 1500 idle hours which worries me. Any opinion I know it too late now but good new would be great lol.

Just noticed it this morning. I usually crank it by remote start and let it warm up before coming out the house. This morning I didn’t and noticed this noise coming from what sounds like under the dash at startup. After 45 seconds or so it goes away. Blend door actuator? Or what do you think it could be? Thanks in advance for any input.

Have a 2025 1500, about 45k miles, I'm second owner put about 700 miles on it no real issues been enjoying it. Had passenger window motor go out, brought it in as it's a CPO and still has 3 mo bumper to bumper, replaced it all good. Next day merging into intestate got the "see owners manual for proper oil /fuel" have 93 in, also was about 3/4 tank full so not new fuel in tank. Message went away, all seemed fine then today leaving work the auto stop feature kicked on for first time ever since driving, strange bc truck had windows down and ac full blast, and for first time since having it did the auto shut off at stop, threw me off but thought whatever, but then when I went to accelerate I didn't move, believe it told me to shift to park or restart car, I turned truck off / back on and then was able to drive, got home and gave me "rear braking assist unavailable" when reversing. Did drive thru neighborhood with ac off to see if it would do the auto off at a stop and it never did, whole thing strange, appointment Saturday at dealership. Seems alot of people having weird issues that are tough for dealers to diagnosis,. Hoping they can actually find something that may be causing this
Guess the question is, has anyone had their truck stall after it auto stops and you let off brake and try to accelerate?
