This is something I see a lot of disagreement on and I'm curious how they fit into the rules you guys use for OC Semblances. I really liked the idea of one given its prominence in fairytales/myths, so I was pretty happy to be assigned one for one of my characters (Iris) in a RWBY server

However, there was a question of the direction to take it, and despite the WOG that transformational Semblances were possible albeit rare, most flavors of shapeshifting didn't fit quite right with the setting's aesthetic in my head.

The rule I ultimately sorta landed on for RWBY OCs in general is that the Semblances should be a) comprehensible in 1-2 sentences (exact details/special interactions are another thing) and more importantly b) that information should be possible to convey without exposition in a RWBY fight scene and portray with its limited budget

Which means that despite it being one of the stronger and arguably OP flavors of shapeshifting, I figured the Ditto/copycat type gimmick fit in the setting best, with a magical girl glowing silhouette or ring effect for the actual transformation (attached art for reference)

Still, I wanna know if anyone else has tried, and/or what guidelines they've set for it

Team LLYD are first years alonng with teams JEWL and RWBY, The teams leader is Lucia Silvertounge, a gambling gal with the devils own luck on her side. Acting as the teams tank is Lin Yuxin who can transform her body in durable sand, she also has a pet bird, Sandy. Yuki Lane is the teams wild card throwing off the enemy with his feminine apperance and his unusual breakdancing style of fighting. And then there's Delilha the teams covert infiltrator, with her ability to chnage into anyone she wants physically although her tail is always there.

Just had a random thought the other day related to this of how can the world of Remnant create an equivalent of the Russian Mutant.

It can be either Human, Faunus or Grimm but I mostly recommend the last one because:

1. It would be interesting to see a Grimm that is mostly red and white instead of primarily black.
2. The idea of a R.W.B.Y character having Death Factor or something similar as a Semblance is impossible so having Life Absorption would be a better ability by letting Salem work on some dark magic on the Grimm.
3. The tentacles feels like it should belong to Grimms unless there's a Faunus with multiple prehensile limbs more than Sun and Tyrian but the Grimms could remove that biological limitation.
