Posting on behalf of my little sister. Her cat has been missing for a week, last seen by a neighbor in the Treehouse Apartments area near the racetrack / the amazon warehouse in that area. Sister is beside herself with worry, the cat is VERY loved. Lilith is friendly and vocal. She is mostly white with black spots on her shoulder blades, kind of an orb. Any information or tips are welcome, we would very very much like for her to come home.

My sister saw this dog near Gillies Creek Park. It has a collar on, but the dog wouldnโt let her get close enough to see it. Sheโs driving around now trying to find where the dog went. Anyone missing him/her?!

Does anyone recognize this cat? She has come up to our house (Randolph, close to cemetery) the past few days and weโve given her food and set a bed outside for her. She stays on our porch from 5pm to bedtime every night. If she is your cat please let me know so I can stop assuming she is homeless and needs help.

Based on an old recommendation from a friend, I finally started reading Ghost Eaters by Clay McLeod Chapman - it is October, after all - and I gotta say, this is the most Richmond novel I've ever read. It's a trope in books/movies that a city is another character, but that really applies here. The locations, descriptions, and its history are all important to the story.
It's a bit silly that he does make a few changes, I guess for legal reasons. VCU is "RCU" and the Martin Agency becomes "The McMartin Agency". I understand the change for the latter because the fictional co-founder is unflatteringly portrayed as very handsy towards the female staff, but plenty of other fictional works use the names of real universities. And not much of the story (as yet) actually takes place at VCU anyway.
I'm only about 60% through the book, but am digging it so far. I don't know if I'd call it "scary", though it's definitely creepy. Maybe my horror tolerance is high or that aspect will pick up towards the end. But if you need a Halloween read that is set in Richmond, this is your jam.
Unrelated: this is the first time I've borrowed a library ebook via Libby. Man, technology is wonderful.

I want to run a little experiment and ask everyone who is comfortable sharing what their past 2 DPU charges were and how many people are in your household. I noticed a friend and I have had the exact same bill for the past two months despite living on opposite sides of town.
Iโm a 1 person household and this does not include gas. This month is $99.72. Last month was $86.13.

I am trying to teach my daughter how to drive and need a safe beginning practice space. Ideally I am thinking an office park or somewhere that would be nearly deserted nights snd weekends - that has parking lots, cul-de-sacs, and long straights.
20 years ago West Creek was perfect.
Or a giant under-construction neighborhood.
Any recommendations?
Could be anywhere in the region.
Thanks!

Hello everyone :) I trapped a litter of 4 kittens with their mama back in May. Out of the litter, Gus was always the most confident and Juki wasn't far behind. They are both very sweet cats with goofy personalities. I got them both fixed recently so they are up for adoption. They would do well in a home with or without children or other cats. I would like to adopt them as a pair because they are quite needy without each other. Let me know if you are interested, here is the link to the adoption page with RAL.

Iโm almost ready to apply to the nursing program but Iโm a parent with kids in elementary school. Iโm worried about the hours and possible instability of routine.
Can anyone tell me what their experience was like with both classes and clinical hours? I added the hours up and it should only amount to a part time job but do clinicals run overnight? In chunks or spread out?
Also, if I were to take the non-nursing prefix classes like A&P 2 before applying, would I have to retake them in the program?
Iโm not getting any emails back from advising and there donโt look to be any info sessions scheduled so any insight would be helpful!

This is my first year going to the RTC, and I was wondering what to expect. I have tattoos and was interested in a small flash for filler. Are there a lot of flash options, or just the bigger pieces? Can I expect crowds?
My first choice is always getting a local tattoo, but a friend really wanted to go and Iโm hoping to see something I like. Thanks!

Use this thread when you are selling, trading, giving away, or looking for any items and/or services. Please be descriptive, post any relevant photos of the item you're selling or looking for, and list the price or budget.
Pro-tip: there are many "buy nothing" and neighborhood-specific groups on Facebook and Nextdoor that can be used to give away or find free items near you. You may find more luck on those social networks than here on Reddit and are more likely to deal with actual local users.
BE AUTHENTIC AND SAFE: Falsely leading on another Redditor is grounds for being permanently banned from this subreddit. Please remember not to post personal information about yourself or others and exercise caution when privately messaging with anyone you do not personally know or trust. Consider a neutral, public location if you plan on meeting to exchange an item in person.
HIGH RISK OF EVENT TICKET SCAMS: Users seeking to sell or purchase tickets of local events are seeing a significantly-increased risk of being scammed. If you receive a private message from a user who hasn't interacted in this subreddit before, you are very likely speaking with a scammer.
NO PROHIBITED TRANSACTIONS: The posting of prohibited goods or services is strictly against Reddit's TOS and are subject to removal by our moderators and/or Reddit's admins. Please report any comments that appear to violate this policy for further review.
