Too long not screenshotting. TLDR: the 1 region spot and wildcard rule created an environment where teams will counter strat the top team only. Not a fan of sparky at all. But he brought up some interesting points. Obviously there are some flaws in his argument like it’s not a given Dplus will do shit at the major. But overall his logic makes sense imo. What do y’all think?

So basically a couple days, ago serx posted on twitter that he missses his duo (Kixa).

And now just 5 mins ago, JJ and Supr were discussing SSG on stream, and JJ texted Supr 1 of SSG’s pickups, to which Supr said “that team is letting their players go?” And then JJ said it’s because that team still doesn’t know if they are relegated or not, meaning that team is 100% 4FUN.

As I was writing this JJ just confirmed it’s mikew.

So basically SSG + mikew, and 4FUN replaces him with serx’s duo kixa.

Is this a no true Scotsman thing? For example, if the players of Dplus lived in Korea for 10 years, can we start calling them an apac team? If they learn Korean or have a kid, are they then "apac"?

I don't know where that line is, and i know I'm reaching with this argument, but I pity some members of Dplus forever seen as "outsiders" in Apac.

The rosters have slightly modifications since it can be difficult to travel, and it has been a few months since some of the previous events. Overall, it looks like there's a good chance to catch some good matches over these next two days. FYR Strays, InControl, Kodex, DZ Academy and TheRealGods are all teams to watch, but honestly all of the teams here could easily impress.

CAG nearly pulled off the comeback in map 2. I’m furious that the APAC North team that made the major isn’t even an Asian team but a full import of Brazilians. I will be hate watching dplus in the major and I hope they don’t win a single map. Fuck Dplus and fuck Nyx 😭✌️

Scarz put up much more of a fight than expected but the caggers still come out on top. Every CAG fan will breathe a huge sigh of relief but this is only step one. In about an hour, CAG and Dplus will fight it out to determine the final team attending the Osaka Major right in CAG's home.

Today we are watching APAC North in hopes that CAG will destroy that fraudulent import team that is Dplus. I absolutely despise the fact that BLAST and Ubisoft allow a full import team of washed up Brazilians to play in a region they don’t belong. They destroy the point of regions in this esport and I hope they disband after this season. As a community we have to all pray on this team’s downfall unless you are a hopeless BR fan that is an absolute loser. And on top of that Fuck Nyx 😭✌️

• Top8 Caliber teams like Weibo and VP will start here.
• Goddamn REIGNING MAJOR CHAMPIONS: DarkZero will start here.
• Even on a lower end, Tyloo was the most impressive CNL team in EWC arguably.
• LOS despite their reputation are still the team that eliminated and ruined EWC #2 FURIA.
• KingZero are probably the lowest denominator here, but even they took maps off EWC CAG.

As a CAG fan, this is terrifying even if we survive the upcoming Final Playday against Dplus and a finally competitive SCARZ

The way blast and Ubisoft handle pro R6 is a joke and honestly it just feels like they’re planning their own downfall so here are a couple of things i feel theyre doing wrong

1) The full round robin phase is so pointless and boring it doesn’t punish teams who start slow (take M80 and G2 for example) and at the end almost always you can predict the teams making playoffs from before watching the stage. If they really want a round robin at the very least make the top seeds actually mean something ( for example let first autoqual to the major and the rest of the teams fight it out). Or just go back to the kickoff format where it felt every game had huge complications.

2) A bit contradictory to the first point but teams do not play enough matches at all. Especially teams that dont make playoffs( outlast, rbls, heretics, INTZ etc) they barely play official games all year, even teams making the major it feels like outside of FaZe and DZ no team played enough siege this season.

3) Weird scheduling and planning, how come weve known the teams going to the major from the top 3 regions 2 weeks ago and APL teams are still fighting til this day. How is that fair for competitive integrity?

4) going back to point 3 theres a huge downtime between teams qualifying and actually playing in the major that sometimes it kills the hype. This one is also a bit on how lazy and low effort siege content creators are ( in any other game by now we would be having tier lists breakdowns scenarios dramas etc etc)

5) Relegations the partnered team thing is such a joke especially in NA. How is is fair that in a 10 league team only 3 can be relegated and 2 of them will be. Thats basically saying to promoted teams hey no matter what you do ur gonna go back down?

6) This one is a bit of a suggestion to fix some of the problems i mentioned above. Again i mean no disrespect but ubisoft need to cut down on flying out creators who do no good for the esport, especially ones who have no big audience. I remember at SI last year at least 8-10 creators who were there streaming who had like 30 viewers and werent talking about game at all. With that money saved and saving up costs elsewhere maybe we can make off season tournaments for the best T2 teams and the T1 teams who missed out on events that way both can get more reps in and T2 players can actually get more recognition.

Honestly i can go on on about how much our esports could be improved but these are the ones i thought abt on the spot lmk what u think!
