Iraq "Selections from President Tito's speeches" Ba'athiest Iraqi book from the Ministry of Media praising Joseph Tito and Yugoslavia (Pre-2003, Iraq)
(beginning pages of the book) :
"Overview on the life of president Tito"
"The Yugoslav President is considered a pioneer of socialist thought, and the Yugoslav experience is regarded as a successful model among the pathways leading to a socialist society.
Between liberated Iraq, under the leadership of the Arab Socialist Ba'ath Party, and Yugoslavia, under the leadership of the League of Communists of Yugoslavia headed by Tito, there exists a friendly dialogue, shared bonds, close aspirations, and mutual ambitions.
The Yugoslav President needs no introduction to the Arab reader, as his positions and struggle-oriented practices are well known alongside the non-aligned nations in particular, and alongside the global liberation front in general.
As for the Yugoslav experience, despite the publication of more than one book dealing with it through study and analysis, it remains in need of further research to be placed before researchers, politicians, and societal leaders.
The most effective way to inform public opinion about the experiences of other nations is to present the core of those experiences with objectivity and integrity... The speeches of the Yugoslav President are considered an honest reflection of the Yugoslav path toward socialism, rich with its obstacles, victories, achievements, and values.
This initiative by the Ministry of Information comes as a contribution to developing warm relations between the two countries, and to deepen the bonds of friendship between the League of Communists of Yugoslavia and the Arab Socialist Ba'ath Party... as well as to highlight the Yugoslav role in supporting the just causes of the Arab nation, foremost among them the issue of liberating Palestine from Zionist occupation.
We wish for this to be a new era in cultural relations between the Arab and Yugoslav people, and it's a gift To President Tito for his 85th birthday, and the passing of 40 years of him being the head of the Communist Yugoslav party.
The Ministry of Media."
