Nightwish and Angra are extremely similar

1st Singer - Groundbreaking, multi talented, but divergence of opinions about the next steps and controversies with management led to a bad breakup that is still not fully healed (unfortunately Andre passed away so a reparation is not possible).

2nd Singer - Talented but inexperienced, band still moved on and made fantastic albums. Left in bad terms after medical problems.

3rd Singer - Basically a Rock Star. Joined as a guest, proved to be a great fit, and became a full member. Already experienced, super talented, can sing the entire back catalog without any problems, recorded great albums but fans still prefer the older classic songs. Stayed relatively problem free with the band for more than a decade. Left in a surprise to everyone.

Lets see now if the 4th Nightwish Singer is going to be like Alirio in Angra. Talented, peaceful, hardworking, and didn't see a problem with the band reuniting with their previous singer (Edu) for a couple of reunion concerts.

Tokyo Blade - 1985 - BlackHearts And Jaded Spades - BlackHearts And Jaded Spades

In the subways the creatures crawl to the sound of music

Of hunger and pain

Urban wasteland of human suffering

The new disease

Microchips in your brain

Bridge

You got the money

We got the muscle

You call it murder

Well it's just another hustle

Is this murder or some high street funky hustle

Chorus

Blackhearts and jaded spades

Street rats and jungle raids

Blackhearts and jaded spades

Hot shots in mirror shades

Run for cover my gypsy lover

Your fatal kiss burns like fire and flame

Called survival and you're my rival

No shotgun wedding will save you the shame

Bridge

Chorus

Solo

When I posted Dire Peril's Predator based song the other day this was the other Predator song I couldn't remember at the time.

The new Dragonland album is officially out! What are your thoughts?

Personally, I’m a bit underwhelmed. I love Dragonland. Under the Grey Banner is one of my favorite albums of all time and while Power of the Nightstar didn’t reach those levels, I thought it was also a strong album.

However, while listening to Prophecies, at times I found it very soulless. It almost sounds like they just wrote this in autopilot. I don’t know know how else to describe it. I don’t know if it’s because these are all mostly 4-minute songs or because I miss the over the top orchestrations/ symphonic elements, but the “epicness” I think about when I think of Dragonland isn’t there.

What do you all think?
