Hello All,

Is there any WhatsApp group for University of Potsdam? I'm new to this university and looking forward to connect to people.

Thanks!

Can anyone recommend a supplier for seasoned firewood in the area? I need at least a cord.

Fotobegeisterte aus Brandenburg gesucht! 🌲🏙️📸

Moin zusammen!

🤝 internal-link

M37 (German) looking for Halloween party options, I am open to any suggestions. Shoot 😛

Any idea what to do in Potsdam? (M29 here)

It is time once again for the another annual reminder.  Trapping seasons in NY begin October 25.  Exact dates and species vary throughout the state. It is recommended to keep pets on a leash as they may be attracted to scents and baits used by trappers. If your pet gets caught in a trap the video linked below shows how to safely release them.  An ounce of prevention and knowledge goes a long way.

Also, just a reminder it is illegal to interfere with a legally set trap or to release an animal other than your pet from a trap.

There is plenty of room out there for everyone.  Enjoy it safely.

I moved here like 6 months ago but I haven't made any friends as such. I don't know if there are any fitness activities I can do around apart from a walk so I would be intrested to join. With winter around it's getting even more depressive

Hi there! I was wondering if anyone were able to help with my historical research which has now taken me (virtually) to Potsdam. I have been looking into the story of the final resting place of the family that owned the village I grew up in (Bestendorf, now Dobrocin). The two couples, Siegfried and Helene (both died and 1945) and Otto and Paula (died in 1989 and 1994 respectively) von der Goltz-Domhardt were buried in Berlin and Aumühle respectively, but in March 2024 they were reinterred in Potsdam. I am trying to find out where. I was told by the Potsdam town hall it's not in any of the municipal cemeteries. It appears that the Bornestedt cemetery is the most likely one, but they haven't responded to my emails. I was wondering if anyone would be willing and able to check if they can find them there? I'm London-based so it's not so easy. Vielen Dank!

I saw this carnival near Potsdam Hbf and am looking for people to go there with (I recently moved to Potsdam and don't know anyone here). DM me if you'd like to go together!

Edit: About me: I [M26] recently moved here from India for work. I was also in Singapore for ~ 3.5 years where I did my PhD. I really enjoy talking to people from different backgrounds, getting to know their cultures, and try different cuisines 😋 (hence also my interest in the carnival!), although being vegetarian doesn't take me very far on that front 🥲

In Potsdam DE

Hey 👋

So I’m heading to Potsdam for a week long conference in November.
I’m staying close to Nauener Tor but the hotel I booked doesn’t include breakfast.
I could pay for it there but it doesn’t sound / look good 🙄

Anywhere close-by you’d recommend for a good breakfast at 7/8am?

Any recommendations for food and drinks in the evening ?

Im mid 30’s so nothing too hectic/ noisy 😅 love good food, good craic, good buzz etc
Also love finding cool / quirky spots where you wouldn’t think they’d exist.
I’ve a soft spot for Mexican / Indian / Asian spots for dinner but every much an open book.
Lovely nice brunch spots but I appreciate they may not be open at 7/8am.
I’d rather a nice a breakfast tho than a full generic hotel continental
if there are eateries worth checking out close by that would be awesome

Thanks

Hallo !

I'm 23F, and a WiSe 26/27 MSc student at HPI and I've just moved to Potsdam. Would love to get to know others in the same programme or in different programmes from HPI or the University of Potsdam in general.

Let me know and we can plan a little outing sometime ^_^.

Hey there, I'm an American living in Potsdam, new to the area. I love the game of poker and wondered if anyone knows of any poker home games happening around here, or other good places to play the game.

Thanks and cheers,

Jordan

Hi! I’m an international student starting the M.Sc. Mathematics at Universität Potsdam this winter semester. I was wondering if there are anyone starting the program this semester.

Would be nice to connect before the semester starts and maybe get to know some people from the program! :)
