Getting back into polymer clay
My daughter has been begging me for a worry stone, so today at work, I made her one. This is my 3rd try since… 2014…

If, for whatever reason, your post gets removed from the sub DO NOT immediately repost the same content. It could be held for a plethora of reasons that needs review. Reposting will be removed, and it's likely the content will not be reinstated at that point.
We are not on Reddit 24/7. It will take us more that a moment to review removed content.
Everyone also would do well to reacquaint themselves with the sub's rules. There's a LOT of hinky shit going on lately.

I love making these little guys! They can detach from the business card holder and cling on other things too 🤡🎪 I really enjoyed choosing all of their color palettes. They turned out so cute! 🥰

Hi just want to know if my clay is ok. I used it once after 16 years now I am getting back st it. First time i did it I believe it fell apart and I didnt like it. Now, getting back at it to keep my might busy for mental health. If I have the potential I will keep doing it. I got lots of Ideas and inspiration. I just dont know what to start and I try not to copy others, trying my best to avoid it and I create my own idea which is stressing me out . Should i copy first for samples then create my own? Need suggestion and improvement? Thanks. Will be posting more soon.

I love the granite clay already offered, but I am looking for a more dramatic speckled look that mimics kiln-fired pottery.
I was thinking maybe adding tiny chopped baked black clay into my base color? Do you think that would work? Looking for suggestions/ideas/tips before I waste or ruin my clay. Thank you in advanced

I want to make colored transparent/translucent items but I’m not sure if this will work with sculpey premo transparent without causing issues. Thanks!

I used to make polymer clay figurines years ago, and this is what's left of my old workshop!
Hundreds of FIMO blocks, untouched for about 8 years.
The problem? They're now rock hard. I can still cut them with a blade, but kneading them is almost impossible.
I'd love to bring them back to life and start sculpting with them again.
Has anyone successfully revived polymer clay this old? Any tips for saving this much clay without spending a fortune on softener?
I'd hate to throw all these colors away! 🐣

First time with polymer clay, very fun :)
Our group has a mostly pirate/mermaid theme.

character credit: silly_lil_scribbles, wurmbox, and jaxlerzz.
I've been poking around Artfight, Tumblr and Reddit to find original characters to sculpt and I'm absolutely having a blast. I haven't sculpted anything in my life but now I've made around 8 sculptures in the span of two months. I really want to work on a larger scale but clay is just so expensive.
This is my main hobby right now and I really want to be better at it. I use very cheap paint and super sculpey.

I am new to this whole world, and am currently using Oytra brand polymer oven baked clay which is the only one available on Amazon where I am.
The raw product comes out decently enough but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to make the things properly. Problems include:
- clay that feels underbaked to the touch, or crumbles when even a little pressure is applied. I have tried baking for longer (approx 40 mins) but the same problem continues.
- additionally, when baking something for 30-40 mins, I notice that small bumps form on the surface unevenly, I assume this is from burning but I can’t be sure. Attaching picture for reference.
Thanks a ton for all the help!

Hey all, newish sculptor/ aspiring sculptor. I gave an attempt at Davy Jones
I wanna be able to make ahead busts to paint them. I made the base and underlying armature out of tinfoil. I originally planned to make the tentacles longer but didnt realize the limited space I had haha
Any constructive criticism is welcome and please tell me what you think :)

These are my pawns based on ladybirds. I had wanted to make them uniform but then the big guy at the back happened. So now I’m leaning into the individual characters.
I’ve done just over half the pawns. Hopefully I’ll have this finished by July next year when I turn 40 which seems like a manageable goal.

It's not perfect but it's very small!

Made with sculpey premo, fishing wire, gold wire and fimo gloss graze. I've been sculpting with polymer clay since 2019, and this is my largest build.

Hi everyone!
I just wanted to share a new figure I made! I'm still pretty new to this, but this one took me a lot longer than my previous figures (about six long evenings, haha)
There were quite a few times when I'd spend hours working on a part, only to decide I wasn't happy with how it looked and start all over again. Mainly the hair and the little hat 😅
I also tried to avoid painting as much as possible because as mentioned in my previous posts, I really struggle with it. I always seem to end up with a chalky finish and visible brush strokes, which I'm not a fan of.
The only part i couldn't avoid painting was the eyes, and there is once more this chalky look...
If anyone has any tips for getting a smoother finish when painting, I'd gladly take them ;)
Anyway, thanks for checking it out! 😊
