TRUMP AND THE FEAR OF THE BALLOT BOX - PANDERING
Let's analyze the first two years of President Trump's second term — how he behaved, what he did, why he pushed the country to the edge, and why he suddenly changes now.
For two years, Trump governed not to stabilize the country, but to keep it in constant tension.
Economically, he governed with headlines, not with laws. The US$ 5,000 dividend for every adult if Republicans win the midterms, the promise of no tax on tips and overtime, bigger paychecks — all announced as if they were already approved. The promise was the policy. The country was left waiting for a check that has no funding, no bill, and no date, while living with tariffs and uncertainty that raised costs.
On the social front, he promised inclusion and delivered exclusion. Speech of unity on stage, policies of division the next morning. The message was always dual: one for the cameras, one for the base. That duality is what put the country in a state of anxiety — no one knew which version of the government they would wake up to.
Internationally, he built an image of the peacemaker. He claims he settled eight wars and deserves credit for peace. But at the same time, he kept confrontation alive — threatening Iran, increasing pressure on Venezuela, talking about oil and resources as bargaining chips. You cannot brand yourself as the man who stopped eight wars while openly threatening the next ones.
Why did it reach this extreme? Because pandering works until it doesn't. For two years, fear and promises were enough to control the narrative. Fear of the other side, fear of depression if Democrats win, fear of losing Congress. Promises of free money if his party wins.
Why the sudden change now?

Paid for, built, and still not approved. Someone call customer service.
If allies already paid for the interceptors and Russia is hitting Kyiv night after night, what is the legitimate reason to hold them, and if there isn’t one, who answers for what gets through?
