This is my Venusaur, Oldman. He's literally the first Pokemon I caught in Pokemon GO back in July 2016.

I downloaded the game early cause I used a New Zealand iTunes account even though I live in California. On my iPhone 5S... The game, and the world, was so different back then. So that's why my caught date is 1 day before actual launch July 6th, 2016.

I have not changed my Venusaur as buddy since the December 2019 buddy update. That's why he's at 2500 buddy days. And for some reason I like to play with him every day and feed him and battle with him.

All the intro starters have a 10/10/10 iv baseline, which is what my Venusaur had... Until gold bottle caps came out in 2025! Since then Oldman has been hyper trained, to 15/15/15, and also mega level 3 and anxiously awaiting mega level 4 and potentially Frenzy Plant+ move.

I was 18 when I got him and now I'm 28. Feels crazy... Love him..

Anyone else still got their origin starter or special Pokemon from 2016?

I'm so tired of hatching these two over and over again. Like, how many Fidoughs and Geodudes does Niantic think we need?? 💀

Please just remove them from the egg pool and give us something actually worth hatching.

And remember, can't abandon puppies if they never hatch in the first place. 🐶💀

I swear I never have even tried spoofing. This kinda freaks me out. I was using the autocatcher to spin the pokestop outside my house and catch w/e might pop up and I got this all the sudden. There's a 2nd pokemon from the same place too. Should I be concerned and or try to contact cs about this before I get in trouble? I don't care if they take the cubone away I just don't want my account banned 😂. I was in Massachusetts when this happened. I know God can drift some but I assume an interfer got flipped for a brief moment and the auto catch snagged 2 goodies? The more odd thing is if I search distance1000- it doesn't show up. Maybe it's just a bugged location tag?

Pokémon Go please refresh the Pokémon you can get from eggs. I’m so sick of getting the same ones over and over again with little change to the variations over the last seasons. I literally only try to hatch eggs at this point for the candy and stardust.

Do we need several thousand posts about this? It's not rocket science. Ar the end of the day it does not really matter who you bottle cap as long as you are happy with it. Or can we at least have a r/stupidpokemonquestions for these things? Same goes for all you "should I purify this" people. Use Pokemongohub or any other website that will give you a ranking or similar. That what we probably have to do to answer your question.

Hatched this little sucka a last month and I decided that I’m going to actually commit to make it my best buddy. Now I finally did it on my trip to Japan!! Woooo!!!

I presume that it isnt realy rare since it is in the end of the Go pass put wanted to share it anyway

Is there any reason to keep more than your best Minior? I haven't transferred any of mine yet, but they're starting to pile up 😆

Why are so many Pokémon GO players against remote trading?

It takes a long time to build friendships to Best Friends level, and it’s honestly a bit disappointing when you finally get there only to find that many people aren’t interested in trading. I now have over 20 Lucky Friends, and not a single one has tagged a Pokémon they’d like to trade.

With challenges like the one requiring you to obtain 50 Lucky Pokémon through trades, remote trading would be a huge help. Not only that, but Lucky Pokémon are some of the coolest and most valuable Pokémon in the game. They cost less Stardust to power up, often have great IVs, and give trainers a chance at getting a shlundo or a rare Pokémon they don’t already own.

After spending months, sometimes years, building friendships in the game, it seems like remote trading would be a great way to make those Lucky Friend interactions actually happen. So I’m genuinely curious: why are so many players opposed to it?

I randomly put my aerodactyl in a random gym in the middle of nowhere ages ago and took a long break from pokemon go, only to realise my aerodactyl is still in the gym…

Do you think he will come back eventually 🤣
