Hi folks - would love to get your take on these two cards I found in an old childhood binder. From what I can find online, they could be worth something. The Mewtwo has a decent nick on the top middle and top right, but otherwise seems decent quality. The Magikarp maybe slightly better but still minor scuffs.

Bought them from an old school friend for $640. They’re all holos. The Gengar looks really good on the back, but it has a large crease right in the middle of the holo on the front. The Mew ex is in really bad condition on the back.
What do you guys think they’re worth? (Mewtwo, Crobat, Gengar, and Swampert are in English, the rest are in German.) Or did I get scammed?

Recently dug out my childhood Pokémon card collection, mostly from the original late-1990s sets, including Base Set, Jungle, and Fossil.

I've attached photos. The cards in the binders usually have like 3 or more of each card.

I'm hoping people who know the vintage market can help me figure out a few things.

The cards were in a binder for the last 20+ years... but put the holos in protective sleeves this week.

Had this since childhood, the whitening around the edges on the back is definitely rough but I’m still wondering what it may be worth in its current condition.

I just picked this up at a card show, and I was quite happy with the price. I didn’t notice the swirl on the front until I removed the guard to look at it. Does this add to the value at all? I’m not super familiar with them, I’ve just been reading a lot lately about people’s preference for swirls.
