3 Reasons to Join Our PokeInvesting Discord!

Having visited most of the Pokemon Discords, the PokeInvesting Discord is one of the best by far. We have the friendliest and most respectful community. Our channels are more organized with members interacting who you'll actually recognize. It's not a sea of random people like other discords. Staying small is our key to remaining high quality. So here's 3 reasons to consider joining.

  1. Four Game Store Partners. - We have two vendors in Japan (ship worldwide) and two vendors in North America. They each have their own store channel to answer questions. One of our Jpn vendors only sells singles and can source anything you need. The whole idea is to be able to easily preorder, buy and ask questions with game stores from different regions with ease.
  2. Monitor Restocks Alerts. - We monitor the largest retail and game stores for restocks, aside from having deal callouts on Discord from other sources. There are deals channels categorized by region, members can post the deals they find online. The difference to other Discords is we don't allow discussion in these channels. So you can set your alerts, find online deals and receive callouts from vigilant PokeInvestors on the lookout.
  3. Space Is Limited. - Some Discords have thousands of members but then keeping up becomes difficult cause there's so many people. The PokeInvesting discord will never have more than a few hundred people if that, we will have to close off to keep a healthy state and good flow. The goal is to have a tight knit community of dedicated PokeInvestors who's voice matters and is heard, to avoid overcrowding we have to keep space limited.

At the end of the day it's an active community discussing every aspect of Pokemon finance. If you want more Pokemon investing, daily content it's a good place to be. There is paywall but it's a natural filter because people who hate it won't make it there, and those who do truly want to join do-so, it creates the positive energy our community has which is why it's in place. If you want to join the PokeInvesting Discord you can see more: https://patreon.com/PokeInvesting

Weekly Questions! What Do You Need Help With?

Have questions? Not on PokeInvesting Discord? Here's the weekly post for the sub to ask away!

Use this thread to ask anything related to Pokemon finance. (Each week the old thread will be discarded and a new thread for the week will be added.)

This thread was created for questions like should I sell, how much to sell for, what to buy, etc. So we don't derail the sub with a stream of question posts. Thanks!

Link in comments. The anonymous man started collecting late-90s. His little boy got him into it.

Last 15 years his collections has been hidden away in the attic.

- *"The man said he had bought some complete sets of the cards from someone in Malaysia on eBay. One set which cost him £300 at the time went for £75,000 at Wednesday's auction."*

- *"Its top lot was the Legendary Collection Complete Master Set, including a Charizard card in near-mint condition. It had been pitched at £15,000-£20,000 but bagged £100,000."*

He played the game boy, and he learned to play it right, to quote the late, great Kenneth Rogers, esquire. He's rich for the rest of his life 👏👏👏

Low Price Gap between Raw and PSA 10?

Post image
3 Upvotes

Can someone help me understand why some cards' PSA 10 is worth x10 raw and others not even x2? Is it just the gem rate? If so, how does gem rate (or other factor) affect whether it's a better or worse investment? The example photo is what got me confused, because I feel like SIR of Venusaur is a good hold, but the low PSA 10 value caught me off guard. Thanks for any help!!

Got asked if I want to purchase these. Need them both for two different collections. But they are both damaged by the looks of them. But still starting to be hard to come by in my country and expensive.

Is this a good price for them?

Pulled this today out of 40 AH packs. I have never sold any of my cards and this is probably the most valued pull out of my collection. You guys think value will appreciate down the line?

Now both Tina and Moonbreon in similar range $3k-$3.5k

I can only grab one and hold long term and not sure which one is better. Do we think we hit the bottom yet for this wave of modern pull back?

I swear don’t comment if you only collect vintage idgaf about vintage.

EDIT: I’m getting Tina. Team Tina let’s get it.

Childhood collection, looking for advice

All of these cards were pulled by myself as a kid. They have been sitting in a box in my old room at my parents' house since release. My question to the community is, what are the most secure options to get real estimates on what my collection is worth? What apps can give the most reliable pre-grade estimate (e.g. Collectr and TCG)? Which grading companies do people trust (other than PSA)?

Thank you in advance.

Hold or Sell

Looking for some serious advice / opinions here. I know these cards are going crazy right now, but is the time to sell now or hold longer? I’m not hard up for money, but I’m only into this card for the grading fee a year ago. I am wondering if I’ll be leaving money on the table if I keep holding…what’s everyone’s thoughts?

XY full arts collection future?

Hey everyone, so I currently am in the midst of almost completing the entire XY full art (including secret rares) and I was just wondering how will these cards fair in the future if I keep most of them raw. I maybe plan to grade the most expensive ones but most of the collection will be raw. Is this an entire collection a good long term hold? I collected these kids because they were my favorites but at one point in the future if they go up a lot I would probably sell. So how do you think these cards will look price wise?
