I have tried manually adding heart gold, as well as showing the folder it’s in. gba games work fine it’s just DS? Anyone have this issue?

What the title says. While playing the game and trying to use the dexnav feature, I am unable to hold A to move slowly and start a chain.

Would love to see sound effects not be affected/muted while in steady mode for the music during fast forward.

PokeDaisy v1.3.1 is out and the big one this time is MAKEOVER. It's a new group at the top of the companion's settings and it changes how the game itself looks while you play.

MAKEOVER

• PLAYER LOOK: play FireRed, LeafGreen, Ruby, Sapphire or Emerald as another game's hero. Walk around Kanto as Brendan or May, Hoenn as Red or Leaf, or as Gold and Kris from Heart and Soul. You can even play as one of your own party's Pokemon. It also works in Kaizo, Emerald Legacy, Imperium and Ultra Violet.
• RIVAL LOOK: in Emerald, Ruby and Sapphire your rival changes to match.
• TEXT LOOK: FireRed's text box and font in Emerald or Emerald's in FireRed and LeafGreen.
• FOLLOWER: your lead Pokemon walks behind you on the map.
• DAY AND NIGHT: the map's colours follow your device's clock so evenings get darker.

The sprites come from your own ROMs and nothing touches your save. Turn it off and the game is exactly as it was.

• Team Rocket Edition: Dragonsden Version 1.5 is supported
• X and Y in GAME BUTTONS. On two screens X hands your buttons to the companion on the field like a DS game's menu
• EXPAND remembers each game's ZOOM
• The companion fits the RG DS's screen!
• On a wide screen SETTINGS shows its groups as tabs down the side

Plus smoother frame pacing on DS and GBA, RetroAchievements on DS games and a bunch of fixes. The full list is in the release notes.

Just want to say first of all that I love this emulator. I’ll definitely be using it a lot. 😁

I’m just having one issue at the moment. I’m hearing a crackling noise in some of the older games. I tested in gold/silver/crystal and yellow so far and it happens in those. I made sure the app is fully up to date and I’m using compatible roms. I even tried reinstalling the app. Is there a way I can fix it? Or could this possibly be a bug? I tested the same roms on a different emulator and did not have crackling noises.

(The video I shared shows crystal running in an emulator where you can hear the sound with no problems before I switch over to pokedaisy and the audio crackles.)

Hi everyone! I wanted to share a few feature ideas and suggestions to make PokeDaisy even better:

1. it would be great to have built-in cheat support or an item spawner feature. This would allow players to spawn any item they want, such as Master Balls, Hyper Potions, rare candies, etc., to make experimenting or casual play much more enjoyable. Like Pokémon Emerald 3DS.

2. I would love a feature or option that allows you to catch opponent/trainer Pokémon during battle. Instead of the game blocking or deflecting your Pokéball, the attempt works: once the opponent's Pokémon is caught, it automatically goes directly to your PC box, and the battle seamlessly continues.

3. it would be amazing to have wild Pokémon spawn visibly in the tall grass (overworld encounters) instead of random encounters. This way, players can actively choose whether to walk up to a Pokémon to battle it or simply dodge it.

4. an option or slider to adjust the Shiny Pokémon rate (or simply significantly increase the base Shiny chance) would be awesome. This would allow players to encounter and collect Shiny Pokémon much more frequently during their playthrough.

5. providing customizable difficulty modes, including an official built-in Nuzlocke toggle (fainted Pokémon are permanently lost, first encounter per route only) and battle style choices (Set vs. Switch), would be a great addition.

6. please consider adding German language support instead of only including English, Spanish, etc. There are many German-speaking players who would love to play the game in German. With modern AI tools, translating everything into German is easily possible, or you could simply use the original German game text.

See, I’m trying to shiny hunt a starter and under normal circumstance, I would need to go to the battle to shiny check. I just want to know if this can tell me before the battle.

Might just be me but when selecting the moves on the bottom screen it seems very busy with the moves also on the top screen. There is probably a reason for it but if there is not then maybe an option to be able to turn the top selection off when using bottom to select?

Wondering why pokedaisy is almost 5gb of space? I have Gen 1-3 roms but only vanilla ones, what else is taking up this much space?

Also is there a way to turn off backup saves or at least relocate them outside of the folders where I keep my saves? I use pkforge to manage my pokemon and constantly having to remove or hide backups makes me not want to use pokedaisy anymore

I'm running the newest version on an RP5, and while it'll happily run the games, and even display a save icon next to the games that have saves, it completely ignores the existing data and only gives me a "new game" option. When I try to manually load the save file, it gives the "this doesn't look like a GBA save" warning, and still only gives the "new game" option upon load.

I tried this with Yellow, Unbound, Ghost Grey, Odyssey, and Crystal. All only provide a "new game" option and won't read the recognized .SRM save files.

If I start a new game and save from within Pokedaisy instead of Gamabette or mGBA, Retroarch can't read that save and only gives a "new game" option, so they're both touching the same save file, but apparently can't read between emulators.

Hi, I just updated to 1.3.0! How do i view the DS' bottom screen when playing on a single screen device? Didnt find a setting or hotkey for it.

An internal resolution upscale would look nice in DS games, a feature available in melonDS

• Pokemon Platinum, HeartGold and SoulSilver (USA) now play in PokeDaisy (melonDS engine)
• The companion reads them like the other games: party, bag, map, dex and guide, with pictures and dex pages taken from your own cart
• On a dual-screen handheld the DS touch screen goes on the bottom screen, and one tap swaps it for the companion. SWAP SCREENS works for them too
• EXPAND draws the 3D overworld past the screen’s edges, in battles too

• The library has quick views: ALL, FAVORITES, RECENT, GB, GBC, GBA, DS and HACKS
• Cast or plug in a TV and the game goes on the big screen while the companion stays on your phone

Fixes

• Turning the screen off no longer restarts the game
• FLY no longer gives a black screen or resets the game
• Wild encounters come back properly when you turn them on again
• No more flickering in the DS games at fast-forward
• Game Boy games no longer crash when they close
• A few crashes fixed (the dual-screen launcher with the D-pad, waking from sleep)

Thanks to everyone who reported bugs and asked for games. A lot of this update came straight from your suggestions. If you find something broken, especially in the DS games since they’re brand new, post it here or open an issue on GitHub. I was wondering if one screen would work on the Steam Deck?

According to the 1.3.0 change log, Pokedaisy can now support several DS Pokemon games. However when I scan the Rom folder, it shows that games are not supported, though importing manually works.

Ps: Can we have display setting per game

Hello, first of all I absolutely love the app. I didnt realize how much I wanted a second screen for gba pokemon games until I saw this announced. Thanks so much for making it.

Secondly, Ive been maintaining a very minor fork of Pokemon Heart and Soul, and tried running it with PokeDaisy, but the second screen companion doesn't really work with it. My branch of HnS is essentially just a spriteswap of the PC, and a single line of code(?) changed for the default PC name. I dont think this justifies a request for separate ROM support, but I was just looking for some technical information on how PokeDaisy identifies a ROM, so that I could hopefully try to figure out where I should start looking in order to troubleshoot the issue and fix it on my end.

Are .png and .pal file differences enough for Pokedaisy to no longer recognize a ROM? Are the couple lines of code the likely culprit? Is any change at all from the base ROM enough? If anyone has any insight on this Id appreciate it.

There is no option to screen swap or change the size of the screen while playing DS ROMs with a single screen device.

There is this pause on rgds on the most recent update. It hangs right there every time you choose fight. So you press fight the moves come up on top and then it hangs until they come up on the bottom screen. If I use the touch screen it goes through the motions easier. It also stops if the battle screen isn't up on bottom.

Interested in playing with a custom ROM that is compatible.

No prior custom ROM experience, which would you recommend?

Not sure if this is possible, but with Lidor, you never know. PokeDaisy is seriously amazing.

It would be great if we could trade and battle online in ROM hacks like Unbound, Team Rocket Edition and Adventure Red Chapter, even when playing on two AYN Thors in different cities. EmuFii already does something similar with some Pokémon games, so maybe it’s worth looking into.

I'm playing pokemon lazarus on my thor with pokedaisy.

I'm at the very beginning and have noticed at least 2 possible bugs with the guide feature that lets you know which pokemon are available on that route/area.

In Bronze fields it says I have everything seen and capture, but I just ran into a pokemon that wasn't on the list. I caught it, and it's still not on the list.

Also, in Acrisia City (starting area) I have everything marked as caught, but an NPC is saying I'm still missing some. This leads me to believe that there's still some missing in the list.

Has anyone had something similar?
