so the past couple times I've joined phas lobbies and made them people keep talking about the giggler. And i didn't think it was real until today when i joined a game and moments later someone joined and started giggling nonstop. It was so creepy and unsettling and apparently this isn't new, Just wanted to post and see if anyone else has heard this cause I'm kind of creeped out right now?

Hii, genuinely super sorry if this isn’t the right place to ask. TLDR, every single game I’ve played with friends in the last two or three sessions I keep going “was that spiritbox?” or “are you using the spiritbox?” and they say no.

I only hear it in Phasmo, we use VC on discord and not in-game (which is why I don’t have clips to provide, but I might set up clips for our next session?).

Sometimes it differentiates between a male voice and a female voice and it’s often indistinguishable, or it sounds like it’s in another room, but I definitely hear it. I started playing phas last month month, but it’s only really started this last week— or if it has been longer, I haven’t noticed it

I figured I would ask first because it might just be a known normal bug, but my friend said it might be a corrupted file that’s playing audio at incorrect times? I guess there’s also a chance that it’s an easter egg of some sort?

It’s just creepy lol, but if it is a bug I’ll report it properl

I usually play this game with friends and always play in VR for the sole reason that I can make props float when I'm dead and always use it to make my friends laugh. Last time I played like a year ago, props I picked up while dead turned invisible and ruined a huge chunk of my enjoyment in this game.

Asking so I don't get my hopes up and have the game session ruined by shattered hope.

To further clarify. If I pick up something in VR when im dead will the object turn invisible or will it float?

Do the devs show what maps will be for the event prior to the day? I had fun playing on tanglewood today but got sad cause it may not be there tomorrow do they have a website or any tracking showing which maps will have the crimson eye event for the next or future days?

My friends Dodo and Syzen, who are the highest known legit Prestiges in the world, did a challenge run a few days ago where the goal is to get the most money/XP in a single contract. That's one of the hardest challenges once attempted by BigMeikLIVE. Thanks to this week's double rewards and the event points daily and weekly tasks, my friends were able to set a new world record at 44,138!

Despite everything, the final score can still be improved!
- First, here they got optional objectives rewarding 25. There are exactly 3 objectives that reward 30: 'Cleanse the area near the ghost using Incense', 'Repel the Ghost with Incense while it's chasing someone', and 'Get the Ghost to blow out a Firelight'. Completing these instead would have increased the final payout by 990.
- Second, their media reward here was 216 while the maximum possible is 231. During the game, they did not get the absolute best sound media; they captured a Burned Crucifix instead of trying to capture the Mist Form. That would have increased the reward by 5. The remaining 10 can only be achieved by recording a Ghost Shapeshift video which is only possible with an Obake, and as you can see, their ghost was a Dayan. The final payout could have been improved by 495.
- Third, unfortunately impossible during this week, the final payout can further be increased by 100 if they completed the 'Play a medium map' daily task instead of the set of tasks they had during the run. Why impossible? Because the best combinations of tasks that include that one are only available on the 2nd, 11th, and 25th of the month, and the double rewards week runs from October 15th to October 22nd.

Dodo and Syzen will attempt to improve this record in a few days with Jadeite and maybe Justly.

Me and my friends had just came back to the lobby from a game and then we all thought we crashed but still could see and hear each other.

Edit: Had to clarify, the host did disconnect but he wasn't in the friend group so I forgot to include him.

Took me about 220 hours to get it. Definitely won't be stopping here tho, gotta keep grinding more prestiges 👍

Hey everybody I'm about to grind Apoc 3 for Deo and I'm wondering if instead of taking a photo of the ghost can I also just record him with the video canera? I always struggle with ghost pics because of their phasing. :)

Smudged it right in the face and it hunted a minute later. thought it was a demon but nope this buggy ass game is back at it

So to preface, I am getting a clip of it. In multiplayer game, I’m the host. 4 players.

We looped the ghost used the smudge sticks 3 in total so I could keep my eyes on it. Male ghost model, the tall one. Playing 150 speed.

Anyway kept it virtually the whole hunt till it finished within eye sight . Enough that we should have seen the shapeshift. Not a single model change during the game. No one died during the hunt. I kept watching it. We were in willow street I was in the kitchen , behind the table . No for change or anything it was an Obake. So we ruled it out. We had a choice between Obake or myling that point , 2 evidence. It was too loud for a myling, but all other options were ruled out. It was an Obake.

2 games later we were playing willow 0 evidence and had an Obake once more . This we could easily see the shapeshift during a hunt.

So I do know what to look for and how to see it. I have roughly 1700 hrs. So not a noob

We also had issues with mylings being not as quiet as they should be as well. But not during those games.

I’m guessing maybe just a game glitch at the time.

take a guess as to the ghost type lol

So i was playing some Restricted Brownstone Highschool right now and i got the "1F-Right" Version. Checked for the ghost room and it was the right hallway but also the hallway that leads to the Foyer... I thought that the Ghost room can not be the floor leading from Foyer to the right entrance... is this a bug or is it meant to be this way?

Playing at 120hz, moving the mouse looks smooth but walking side to side looks awful when training your eye to any in-game object (text, for example). I saw this post as evidence of this behavior:

Although it's more of an annoyance for me, I have friends who can get motion sickness from this. If you don't notice it in the first place, don't worry about this guide.

Here's the fix if anyone wants to experience a smooth version of Phasmo when playing at 120hz:

1) Download Special K from the their Repo

Unzip, and rename SpecialK64.dll to d3d11.dll. Place this file in the main directory where phasmophobia.exe is

Disclaimer: DLL's should be generally treated with caution. Special K is safe.

2) Launch phasmophobia. Press control+shift+backspace to bring up the Special K overlay.

5) In-game video settings: v-sync off and fullscreen

I've only tested this with my monitor set to 120hz. Could work at other refresh rates although your results may vary.
