News META: Regarding user flairs
At the r/Peopleliberationarmy mod team we have decided we will remove all user flairs unless said user has verified personally with a moderator via DMs of active servicemember/veteran status(please do not post active servicemember IDs on the subreddit though for safety reasons) to prevent confusion with actual active servicemembers.
This change is to prevent us from getting in trouble for potential impersonation of active servicemembers, because as of current knowledge we do not have any PLA servicemembers or veterans.

PAP|武警 PSA: PAP "Transportation detachments(交通支队)" are officially called "road construction detachments", despite the direct translation being transportation. This also applies to units of the battalion and corps level(defunct post 2018). (also some pics of the 3rd ROD, 2nd mobile corps in April 2025.
Source: http://eng.mod.gov.cn/xb/Home/Focus/16383704.html
Even though "交通支队" literally means "transportation detachment" this is the proper translation apparently.
So yeah, they are called road construction detachments(and battalions). presumably the defunct "transport command" and "transport corps" are actually called the road construction command and road constriction corps(plural). Which is pretty funny, as now they don't construct roads that much anymore, and are more of disaster relief/rescue units who also conduct emergency repair of roads. Furthermore, they also were originally used to build bridges, tunnels and repair airports etc.

(it also has PLAJLSF boats, will also post that pic later)
PLAGFS 1956-1-11 is actually a ship name used by multiple dispatch boats, this one being the newest one. The name came from January 11, 1956 when Mao boarded the first 1956-1-11, and used it as a presidential yacht. I would presume the current one is also used for president xi but i haven't seen it much in photos
The type 684 is a 1990s era chinese dispatch boat used for personnel transport, especially; no idea what LJ100 does though. Maybe the general's boat probably?
Judging from the text "汇龙3码头"(Huilong 3 pier), i found the location on Amap, https://surl.amap.com/CMpmvL41o0LO, where nearby appears to be a PLAJLSF fuel storage facility; OOPs post also had JLSF boats so not suprising.

PAP|武警 Finds from the State council archive: In 1995, the People's Armed police introduced two A-60+(produced by the American Blimp Corporation) airships for uses such as command, transportation and communication. (Pic 1 is translated in description)
Source: https://www.gov.cn/zhengce/zhengceku/2010-12/29/content_6679.htm
I couldn't find any photos of the airship in PAP service; There is this 2022 weibo post that said in November 1, 1995, Jiang Zemin viewed the airships in a performance. I presume these were likely retired 2000s since not much info about them is avaliable online.
The PAP currently operates two helicopter detachments(each with 3 battalions) under both mobile corps along with three aviation groups under the CCG's three commands/branches; Standard PAP aviation includes Z-9s, Mi-17s and Z-20WJs; The CCG(under PAP)'s aviation includes one Y-12F(1st aviation group), MA60(probably one, 2nd aviation group), AC313s, Harbin H425s, H410s, Z-20 etc. PAP units also operates drones, which can likely do the same thing as airships. However most of the CCG's aviation units come from the former China marine surveillence(now defunct), while PAP aviation only really started in the 2010s. (previously of provincial corps fun fact)
Translation:
General office of the state council, General Office of the Central Military Commission notification on the introduction of Airships into the People's armed police force and the establishment of an Airship base in Beijing
General office of the State council letter (1995) no 8
[To the] Ministry of Public Security, PLA General Staff Department, People's Armed Police Force:
On the question of introduction of airships to the PAP along with the establishment of a airship base in Beijing, we are now informing you the following:
- The approval of the introduction of airships(two american made A-60+ airships), for use during duty(Note: this sort of means patrols), along with command, communications and transport during sudden incidents
- The airship will fly outside Beijing's no fly zone and will not enter the no fly zone without permission. The flight route and altitude will require approval by the PLA Air Force, Beijing Military region and General Administration of Civil Aviation. All flight activities will be part of the current Air Traffic Control System, controlled and commanded by the PLA Air Force. [The airships] must strictly follow flight regulations and establish a Flight Coordination and Notification System.
- The PAP must strengthen management of the airships, and create proper regulations and enforce said regulations to ensure safety in the skies of the capital. Strict checks must be conducted for anyone boarding the airships, and foreignors along with people from HK, Macau and Taiwan are to be forbidden from boarding the airships. (Note: it's military equipment, so not really suprising, especially since HK and Macau were still british and portugese colonies)
- The fees for purchasing the airship and establishment of an airship base are to be handled by the PAP. (aka under PAP budget.)
Please consult with the relevant departments regarding the specific details.

Base of the People's Armed police Xinren Company, in Xingren, Guizhou.
Source(pics 1-3): https://m.weibo.cn/detail/5353545356279820
The building in the center back is the main building, likely with the offices and dorms. Building on the right is the garage; Two rooms in the front are for the base sentry, red strip on the left is obstacle course for training. Blurred part is the Xingren detention center/jail, not part of the barracks but guarded by it's troops.
According to a 2020 news report the "company" has a mere 35 troops. from pic one, there are 32 soldiers and commanders, which sort of confirms this(likely some troops are on sentry duty at the detention center).
PAP County companies can range from between 20-100 people. (It's technically company level and has a captain/1st Lt in charge); Their jobs are to act as sort of a county garrison in wartime, responding to disasters/violent events in the county along with guarding the local detention center/jail.

In April 1955, after the Lüda area(dalian) was returned to China, the PLANCDF Railway gun regiment was established using railway guns the Soviet navy had left in China; the regiment had 4 companies(171st, 172nd, 173rd and 174th) with 4 130mm B-13 guns per company; It was subordinate to the PLAN Lüshun base(north sea fleet) and stationed in Dalian. In May 19, 1955, it was officially named the 21st Railway gun regiment.
In 1958 the regiment was transferred to Xiamen to participate in the Second taiwan straight crisis between 1958 and 1959; In March 15, 1960, the PLAN transferred the 21st regiment to the East sea fleet and converted it into a fixed gun unit known as the 39th independent coastal gun battalion with three companies(172nd company disbanded) under the PLAN Fujian base and later Xiamen maritime garrison command.
In June 20, 1960, the 173rd Company was transferred to the newly established 45th independent coastal artillery battalion.
In February 22, 1961, the original 21st regiment's trains were transferred to the Ministry of Railways Shenyang railway bureau.
In November 1966, the PLAN ordered the following changes:
- 39th Independent coastal gun battalion to be renamed to the 7th Independent Coastal gun battalion, 171st company to the 1st Company
- 45th independent coastal artillery battalion to be disbanded, 173rd company renamed and reorganized into the 2nd coastal artiliery company, Songhu maritime garrison command(now shanghai maritime garrison command)
- 174th company, 39th Independent coastal gun battalion renamed and reorganized into 1st Coastal artiliery company, Changtu maritime garrison command.
In the 1990s, most of these units were disbanded and replaced by Anti-ship missile units.

PLAGF|陆军 Drive by shooting with PLA characteristics (BJ2022 utility vehicle + Type 81-1 rifle; 3rd Vehicle transport brigade, Tibet-sichuan sustainment station, Xizang military command) (CCTV Military documentary clip, 2023-06-12 episode) (translations added by me)
Video source: https://m.weibo.cn/detail/4912194740816354
Full documentary: https://tv.cctv.com/2023/06/12/VIDECzQgsOIPBAMSTkzX6M26230612.shtml (it's on military drivers, known as "Vehicle soldiers"(汽车兵) such as in the PLAGF, PAP and PLAAF), who transport supplies and troops.
3 year old clip I dug up, pretty cool, from the full documentary this is supposed to be in case of an ambush scenario. (also this isn't the full drill, SSG2 Yao assembles the type 81-1 as part of the drill).
Pretty crazy that the 81-1 is still in use in 2023, though military drivers are traditionally more of a rear line unit.
