TL;DR: Lets take a second and let it out so we feel less alone.

Yesterday my TL came to the store and told me not to soak my dishes, then was talking crap about how fast I was washing dishes behind my back with my SM. I'm letting it go and taking appropriate actions to deal with it as this isn't the first time something like this has happened with my SM specifically. But it sure is demoralizing!

Context: I'm a returning cook, and an OG at this store. I've been denied my cook test twice now for dubious reasons at best. My SM is constantly leaving us to solo multiple positions (talking full BOH/Full FOH). This day I'm referring to above, I was pounding through morning shift dishes (not mine) at 7pm. This store is just a mess :D

So, make me feel less alone here, what gripes do you have? What do your bosses/coworkers leave you to clean up?

i started working as kitchen help a month ago and im struggling with keeping up with dishes. my first 2 weeks they only had me on dishes and i learned all the techniques people use to do it efficiently (make sure things are soaking, plastics and pans first, scrape food to avoid clogging sink etc.) but since ive started making sides i’ve found it really hard to keep up.

i’ll come in at 11 am and literally nonstop be cooking batch 2s and batch 3s for hours. i might have like 5 mins of downtime per hour to knock out any pans but dont have much time aside from that until 4 pm. then they want me to take trash out and sweep, and send me on a 30. when i get back i need to keep making food and the dishes are piling up. by the time it finally slows down at around 7-8 pm i have a mountain of dishes and still need to start helping with closing.

the only thing saving me is sometimes this one lady in foh will come and help with dishes. also my store recently started adding an extra kitchen help after 4pm to help, but im not sure if thats going to stay that way

i couldn’t imagine running it solo and i fear the day my extra kitchen help calls out. how can improve? im really giving it my all and at the end of the shift im completely drained.

What is the pay scale for each position nyc . Crew , lead , assistant manager etc.

I pulled a rare off center crimp error fortune, I should’ve kept it sealed.

So just recently we had a whole bunch of the panda paper plates come in at my job. I come in the next day for my shift and they're all gone (not sure how, we only use them for our employee meal breaks and if people ask for them) and my manager excuse was to tell us that we either use the same few plates, which are off-brand ones she got from a store and there's only like three of them. Or we bring in our own plates so we can eat our employee meals. To me it just seems really unprofessional. There is probably a better word to describe that but this is just a bit weird to me. I've been working at this location for about 8 to 9 months now and this is never happened so am I the only person who's experienced this?

So I just applied to PE and I was just wondering how long until I hear from like manager or a person about my application whether to get an interview or that I’m not the right applicant. I just applied last Friday and just wanted to see how long it would take.

I’m not blaming the employees at all, I’m blaming the online ordering system and how the stickers print in-store.

When I’m ordering a 3-entree plate, and get double of something (for example here black pepper chicken), and a single order of honey walnut shrimp, PUT THE DOUBLE BLACK PEPPER CHICKEN IN THE TO GO BOX WITH THE CHOW MEIN, and put the honey walnut shrimp on the side. But because honey walnut shrimp comes first on the online ordering system when selecting your options, it gets printed first by default along with the first portion of the black pepper chicken, so those two go in the box, and the leftover portion of the black pepper chicken goes on the side.

I paid over $20 for Large size and they literally gave me medium size amount. And I ordered like 3 Large and they all look as empty as this. They must be running out and will discontinue again soon. Or I got scammed.

So I went back and ordered another Large and look at the difference, it's like night and day. Lots of PE employees defended it saying it's normal but it obviously wasn't. They definitely scammed me the other day.

I couldn’t decide on what to get so I let my first offer expire on accident, which took a month after making the account. Then I received a second offer and it was such a better deal I was curious if they’d give me anything else 😂 The free bowl with any purchase seems to be their 3rd and last gift.

Now that I’m finally going to try Panda, what should I get in the bowl and as my side purchase? Are the drinks and Cantonese bbq any good?

My store has lost both managers in the last 2 months and we were given an AM from another store but we have also lost 5 associates with no new hires and hardly any help from other stores or our ACO! On this Sunday we are running a 3person crew through our dinner rush and 2 people during lunches with silence from our ACO. This ACO has also said if we shut down DT or lobby we will be getting a CA. Majority of my team is ready to quit because this is a reoccurring issue. What would you do?

Do you guys have a routine that you do when doing BOH? I’m really trying to hold on but I always feel like I’m behind. I work mornings which people say is easier but I get there I do all of the sides, I just got taught how to prep, and I have to wash dishes. I’m just asking for any help or advice on how I can get faster. Also on the thawing out the meats does anyone know how much each bag of each goes into a container?

Please tell me I’m not the only one who remembers the chocolate chip cookies. Coworkers who have been here for years don’t know what I’m talking about. I want them back so bad.

I have a coworker at work that is hispanic who always makes comments on my body whenever managers are away or leave for the shift.

Whenever he talks to my other coworker, he always waits until managers are gone or until I leave, to talk about me in spanish (if I’m there), or just when I’m gone.

He’s also stated to the same coworker that he would leave his girlfriend and marry her instead.

He’s also stated that when I left, this day I was wearing new pants that were tight. He pointed out to my coworker (same one he wanted to marry) that I looked good but not as good as her and that her ass looked better.

Obviously that made me feel uncomfortable because I had a kid less than a year ago and I was fine wearing those pants because they were comfortable until he said that.

Where do I go to message about this to HR? My other coworker has already tried talking to the manager and assistant manager, so I already know how it’s gonna go with me. I’m gonna talk to the manager tomorrow when I work, but I don’t know what to do if nothing gets fixed.

For context, I am friends with one of my coworkers. He knows that I had a small stint doing adult content online.

And it was a good thing to help through college. But now I found out he told a couple people. And that somehow made it to my manager.

Me and her have been bumping heads recently because I request days off and she schedules me anyways. So she's been trying to find a reason to cut my hours.

Apparently, last week my coworkers were having a very harmless conversation about me and how I'm a flirt. Every person in that conversation has assured me there was never any talk about my past. Yet my manager sites that exact conversation as the one that led to me being terminated and accused of harassment. Accusations that imply that I have been going around to multiple people talking about my content, when I have only told one person at that place. And it was outside of the workplace.

The real reason for this post is that I wanna know if I'm in the wrong?
