Home Series Pakistan win! Promising youth dampened by experienced rigidity
Little review of game today, everyone said wait till England and we did😁.
Arafat's magnificence with the ball and bat accompanied with Nawaz's middler order fight is a testament to the promise of our youth but yet again but is dampened by our top orders repeated failures. Saim is not nearly good enough, cannot still be held up to the standard of "promising talent" living of that 100 in SA, averaging below 25 since then (even worse in t20is )and it's time to accept that this is a failed project and all attempts to turn him into an allrounder is a futile last ditch effort. Babar striking at 60 is utterly unacceptable another way he's failed to adapt to the modern game and try improve himself, faced 30 dots in his score of 34 and his inability to rotate strike, selfish perseverance of his wicket is another burden our middle order don't need. Hasan Nawaz, Arafat, Rana all exceptional in rebuilding the innings playing with calculated intent and putting England on the backfoot in the second half of the innings as they salvaged a defendable total. All hail Arafat who was the difference maker with a superb 6 wicket haul, playing with maturity beyond his years making England's middle order victim to his exceptional craft, displaying precision with line and lengths and intelligent use of variations. On the pacers Shaheen's bowling looked bleak but credit to the captaincy he made great changes, Naseem looking promising js needs to work on nutrition and fitness to get in top notch form, Rauf did well again but the daunting inevitability of his big game performances haunts me
For next match I'd replace Maaz with Saim

Stats & Analysis Shahid Afridi only man to get three 50s + 5WI in same match
Incredible white ball player. This list is much smaller if you take full member nations vs full member nations as well. Shahid’s were vs England, Sri Lanka and West Indies. Team did him proud today.

History Imran Khan recognised as the GOAT All Rounder by the biggest Indian cricket outlet Cricbuzz
Cricbuzz has in recent years become a mouthpiece for Indian promotion who rundown Pakistan at every opportunity not that Pakistan cricket has helped itself in the last 3 years.
But even with their bias against Pakistan they statistically couldn't deny that Imran Khan is the Greatest All Rounder of All Time. The extensive parameters they use clearly show Imran as the best all round cricketer to have played the game ahead of even Kallis and Sobers.

Cricket Discussion Naseem will play the WC
Hes moving the ball at 140kmph. He will spearhead our pace unit. There is little expectations from Shaheen as the eagle we desire
Question is, bowlers hunt in pairs..
Who is best paired with Naseem to equally choke the runs?

Match Highlights Redemption of the Pakistan Pace Trio?
The trio of Shaheen, Naseem, and Haris have shown an incredible resurgence over the past two matches, and I wanted to gauge y'all's opinions on this performance.
Evidence to be excited by this:
- Naseem's going back to his old pace and getting swing both ways
- Shaheen's pace has dropped, but his movement and effectiveness with the new ball in both matches has been admirable
- Haris Rauf's incredible bowling today, and varying his length over the course of the match (not just bowling in the slot or a full length)
- This is a "placid" Rawalpindi pitch, and the trio's impact on bouncy/pacey South African wickets would be amplified
Evidence to not be excited by this
- Naseem, Shaheen, and Haris have shown that they fail in big match moments
- We have the likes of Akif, M. Wasim, S. Mirza, and A. Raza in the outskirts not being given an opportunity
In my personal opinion, even withstanding the fact that the trio have been bashed in previous worldcups, for example, in the T20 2026 worldcup, Champions trophy 2025, and the world cup in 2023, they have shown that they can be reliable in conditions that suit them like the australia/south african ODI series plus the pacey wickets in 2024 (American world cup)
I think that given how close we are to the world cup next year, we should focus on increasing the strength of our batting department, because our bowlers tend to be over-blamed for mistakes that our batting makes (constantly choking)
I think they deserve one final chance, and we should focus previous failures on the shortcomings of our batting, which has let us down A LOT.
Idk, what do you guys think

Home Series Pakistan To Wear A Pink Kit For Breast Cancer Awareness Against England
Pakistan will wear a pink kit for breast cancer awareness against England for their third game on Sunday 25th October 2026. This will be Pakistan's first time wearing the pink kit in the ODI format and second time in international cricket. Last time we wore it we lost to South Africa in 2025.

Cricket Discussion Hum pagal banay ja rahe hai kya?
Like the title says…hum waqi mai kya pagal banay jarahay hai?
We’ve tried diff combinations here and there and dramabaziya chal rahi is youngster ko le ao to usko aur na perform kre wo to usse nikal kr kisi undeserving senior ko daldo.
Agar hum dekhay the core team for the upcoming odi matches and it seems that things are gonna stay the same for the ICC events as well are all seniors wohi seniors jinho ne 4-5 icc tournaments khel kr bhi kuch nhi kiya humara liye.
Press conference mai aa kr bs batein karwalo insa match mai kuch nhi kr sakta ye log.
Be real with yourselves do u rlly think is type ki bowling could defend a decent total against a big team like aus eng ind?
Ye to sri lanka thi theyre a way worser team then us and missed out in planning in the last 10 overs lekin idher koi bari team hoti they could have possibly chased the total within 44-45 overs.
Shaheen nor has the swing aur pace bhi 128-129 kmph this is not enough.
Hamara odi ka kaptaan literally akif javed ki jagah kha kr betha hua.

Stats & Analysis ODI Batter's Stats vs World Avg
How many runs does each Pakistan top-order batter add or cost the team?
How it works: impact asks whether Pakistan would have scored more or fewer runs with an average batter from a top-10 team in that position. It counts both the runs scored and the balls used to get them, since slow scoring eats balls the batters after you could have used. Only regular players are counted for every team.
Why only 6 Pakistani batters?
Because they're the only ones Pakistan has stuck with. Over the last 3 years we've cycled through a huge number of players without really trying any of them: two or three games, then out.
Keeper is the clearest example. Ghazi, Haseebullah, Saad and Usman Khan have all been given a go, and none of them has played more than 5 ODIs.
Nobody gets the chance to settle, so these six are the only ones with enough games to judge.
The Players:
Saim Ayub (+5.3)
An elite opener in this period. Adds about 5 runs an innings over an average opener, and the only opening combo better than him is India's. Everyone else's opening combos are behind him.
Fakhar Zaman (+1.1)
Fakhar is getting older and you can see the dip. He's no longer the destroyer he was a few years ago. That said, the numbers still have him as a decent opener: slightly above world average and ahead of most teams' opening combos, but not elite. Australia, England and India all do better.
Abdullah Shafique (−22.7)
One of the worst openers to play ODI in the last 3 years. He costs Pakistan almost 23 runs every time he bats compared with an average opener, which is a huge hole to dig at the top of an innings. Unless something changes drastically in his game, his ODI career should be finished.
Babar Azam (−8.4)
No.3 is the most important batting spot in ODIs, and they have the highest avg as your best player usually bats at 3. The job is to bat long while still keeping a decent scoring rate.
Unfortunately Babar has been scoring less and much slower than the the rest of the world. He's only ahead of his counterparts from Afg and Bng which makes Pakistan the 8th best of the top 10.
Salman Agha (+14.0)
Pakistan's best batter in this period by a huge distance. He's been elite and ranks among the top 3 middle-order batters in the world. A whopping 14 extra runs to Pakistan's total every inn. By every metric, he has been world class.
Mohammad Rizwan (−4.3)
Rizwan has been a consistent scorer in the middle but has batted too slow and thus has been costinf the team 4 runs every time he bats. What's worse is that for whatever reason he seems to be getting slower each year.
The bottom line
Three of these six are net positives for Pakistan which means 2 questionable spots in the batting.
Babar and Rizwan together are costing about 13 runs every innings. And that's against the world avg. Compared to top 5 teams, it gets much worse.
With the World Cup only a few games away, there's no time to build a backup or replacement for Babar. We just have to hope he gets back to being the ODI batter he used to be.
For Rizwan's slot, they have to pick one player (Saad or whomever) and stick with it.
Same for #6. Stop the revolving door and let someone actually make the spot their own.

Memes How it felt it to see saad baig wicketkeep after months of akmal quality keeping from nafay and uk
He actually kept the ball in his glove instead of deflecting it on to the ground, he didn't concede 25 byes and on top of that he batted like an actual player of cricket, is he allowed to do that? I thought only Rizwan had permission to do this in pakistan

Cricket Discussion Trio of Shaheen, Naseem and Rauf will not win us any trophies
Since 2021 wc we have been using the same bowlers over and over again and they somehow keep making it back into team because we fail to give any other bowlers a chance or give them one series then drop them into the unknown.
Sure they will win a few matches together and will win today but every tournament against better quality opposition they fail.
2021 wc - Shaheen, Rauf, Hasan ali
2022 wc - Shaheen, Rauf, Naseem (this is when they all peaked)
2023 wc - Shaheen, Rauf, Hasan ali
2024 wc - Shaheen, Rauf, Naseem played every match with support of Amir and Abbas afridi
2025 Champions trophy- Shaheen, Rauf, Naseem
2026 wc - Shaheen, Naseem and then salman mirza and faheem
This combo does not work and every tournament our so called overhyped PSL star pace attack gets found out and we suffer. I do not hate or dislike these bowlers and i still want them to play but we have been milking their performance especially Shaheen and Rauf from the 2021 wc up till now. When we have all concluded that Shaheen no longer has his high pace and Rauf no matter what will always leak runs. Naseem is still raw and i would like him to focus more on his test bowling as he is the only one who can excel there.

Cricket Discussion Best ODI XI
Fakhar
Saim Ayub
Babar
Salman Agha
Saad Baig (wk)
Hassan Nawaz
Arafat/Faheem (depending on conditions)
Shaheen
Naseem
Rauf
Abrar
I think this is our best possible ODI XI moving forward. I believe Saim Ayub will eventually come good with the bat. Hassan Nawaz needs to work on his strike rotation, but his six-hitting ability is impressive. We need someone at No. 6 who can clear the ropes, and he has the potential to fill that role.
As for the wicketkeeping spot, I'd rate Saad Baig over Ghazi Ghouri, so he'd be my first choice.
Thoughts?
