Good Deal? Wilson Defy V1 SE - 115 Euro in Total Padel

Hi All, I am an intermediate player who hv played padel for about 1 year. Have been using the Adidas Metalbone Carbon Ctrl 2024 for the past year and mainly on the right side. I have recently started to play on the left and noted that the adidas racket appears to be missing some power on smashing or vibora. Last week, I saw a deal in Total Padel, about 115 euro for the Wilson Defy V1 SE (not the pro one) and instantly placed the order. Do you all think it's a good deal? or just a fair price? Myself is not a player with huge power and I was afraid that I couldn't handle the Pro model, so went for the normal V1 model. instead. What do you think on this racket? Thanks!

Which of these two pairs of shoes would you recommend for someone just starting out in padel?

I’m looking to start playing padel and plan to play 3–4 times a week. I have these two pairs of shoes as options. One seems to be more tennis-oriented, while the other is specifically designed for padel. However, I’ve seen some reviews suggesting that the ASICS offer better cushioning.
Can anyone help me decide which pair would be the better choice?

Looking for right-sided Racket suggestions

Henlo!

So let's start with my level: I'm in my 4th year playing padel rather regularly, let's say 2–3 times a week from March to November due to the unavailability of indoor courts at my place. I play in Austria where we basically have our own rating system. I've already played lots of tournaments where I regularly win Starters and have started to play Advanced, where I regularly finish in places 4-8 in a 16-pair bracket, of course depending on the field. Basically, my APN is floating somewhere around 2 to 2.5.

If I were to describe my style, it would be tactical defensive. I run a lot and return lots of balls, so you have to hit a good shot to win the point. I try to play with my brains, going for the right shot and the right tempo in the right situations. Lots of lobs, but I'm also not afraid to play a bajada off the glass if my body is in the right position! My biggest area to improve on is my offensive shots. My partner always tells me I could have tapped some of the balls out at the net, but I prefer to play volleys and go for crazy angles to get the point. I also feel like I lack the power needed for those shots, but it's most likely due to my technique.

Which brings me to my racket: I play the adidas Adipower Multiweight CTRL 3.3. To be honest, I needed some time to get used to it. I have one weight customizer on the top and the rest placed right in the middle left and right.

So that's it, advice is appreciated! (:

Hi Guys!

Wonder if any of you could help me and verify if this is real or not.

I ordered this racket on eBay and received it and it’s come with a bag which usually they do not.

The text is misaligned on the racket? Is this right?

I have weighed it and it comes in at 358g

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Kuikma PR Open for beginner?

Hi, me and my girlfriend very recently got into the sport. We play once a week and are looking for some beginner racket so that we do not depend on rentals (which are somewhat pricy compared to the racket in question).

We used the club’s rental, it was 360g but no idea on more details. It felt just fine for me, but too heavy at times for my girlfriend, hence why we are considering Kuikma PR Open as it’s very cheap.

Metalbone ctrl weight system

Hello im a beginner using the metalbone ctrl and i was playing with the weights on the side for a while but i felt it was heavy and it felt power playing overheads today i put 2 screws only on top and the overheads was so much better but i feel like the control is harder
Should i return back to the old combination by using all weights on the side or try to get used to the new screws on top and play with it?

Hi, I've been thinking about purchasing this racket without testing, as it is for sale for a really good price.
I've been mostly researching rackets with google AI, and it seems to have all I want in a racket, has anyone here ever played with it or any other Varlion racket who could give me some feedback? Much appriciated!

Looking for a racket similar to the Starvie Drax+ (2026) but with different handle

Post image
4 Upvotes

Hi all,

I've been playing with my Starvie Drax+ for around 15–20 hours now, and I absolutely love the feel, hardness, rebound, and control of the racket.

But: I absolutely hate the handle!

I can handle (pun intended) with it being a bit longer than standard, but why did they decide to use a different shape? I'm used to handles with four sides and four rounded corners, but for some reason, Starvie decided to add extra sides and corners to make it more rounded.

I'm really struggling with my continental grip with this design. It feels uncomfortable and insecure, and I've actually lost quite a few points because the racket slips in my hand when I hit the ball hard.

I've tried 4on, beeswax,.... and since feeling comfortable with the racket is important I decided to give up on the Drax

So, does anyone know of a racket that offers a similar feel to the Drax+ but has a more "normal" handle? (preferable not Nox)

Attached stock pic how it looks like.

For reference: I play on the right side, intermediate-level player, and more focused on defense and control.

TL;DR: StarVie Drax+ = great racket, terrible handle. Any recommendations for a similar racket with a normal handle?

Padel Ball Machines

Anyone tried or used one of the ball machines?

Thinking of investing in a Pongbot or similar, idea is to take it to a court and just practice.

None of the local clubs have got one so looking for experience and recommendations please. I am based in UK.

Need something which is easy to transport.

Thanks in advance.

Fiber glass or Carbon

I am a squash player and recently got into padel and wanted to get my own racket but don't want to break the bank because it's gonna be a secondary sport for me, want to know if fiber glass rackets are worth it or a mixture of fiberglass and carbon like the Kuikma react to start with or is it better to invest in a full carbon racket if fiberglass ones don't live that long.

How to know if a racket suits me?

Genuine question: How do I know if a racket really suits me? How does it feel right for me (and my play style) ? Looking for any advice.

I wanted to get the Kuikma Hybrid Carbon as my first "good" racket. Test it out from Decathlon because of the easy return conditions.

It would be the first racket change after my beginner racket (been playing since May / June 2026).

I'm lost

I'm relatively new into Padel, now I want to play at least once a week. I played a bit of squash and tennis before and I'm ok'ish skilled in ball+racket sports.

I'm completely lost in the Padel packet options! I think I'm more a defensive player that wants to use slice's often so I think I want a racket that supports that...also probably a beginner racket with mistake-forgiveness ... Any recommendations for 70-120 €?

I also had tennis elbow once so I don't want to repeat that 😬

Hi guys, i was taking off my head protector to change it since it was scuffed from a few hits and literally a whole piece of the racket came off with it. Will this cause cracks down the line should i change the racket beacuse of this or no?

Adidas Metalbone CTRL 2026 - Weight

Hi everybody

I have a Metalbone CTRL but I think it's on the heavy side. With the protector and two overgrips and strap (no weights) it weighs in at 375g. Id guess without the extras it would be 360-365.

This is over the range for the CTRL which is 345-360. Is it worth purchasing another that's lighter (querying weight before hand)? Or is this weight to be expected?

Comparing against the Arrow Hit Light (admittedly a very light racket) I notice a steep drop in manoeuvrability in the Metalbone. I prefer the Metalbone in most other areas though and think a lighter version of it would be perfect.

Thanks

Vertex 05 hybrid 2026 similar rackets?

I'm a right sided intermediate player and i've been playing with the vertex hybrid for the past 3 months and really enjoy its ball output and sweet spot. However, im finding it a bit heavy and hard

Any suggestions for a similar racket with a softer core? I've read about the metalbone CTRL but i noticed it had a significant trampoline effect.

Hello, I wanted to know if anyone had bought something at Smashinn and how much they charged them in tariffs. The website charges me 29 dollars but it is an estimate, I wanted to know if that estimate is accurate or not. Thank you

Giving up on Kuikma Hybrid Carbon

Just a rant: after trying to adjust with the Kuikma Hybrid Carbon for almost 11 months, I have finally given up on it. The racket has a hard feel and works well if you have a really good technique. I have tried my best to perfect my technique but a little mistake here and there always kills my shots. Searching for a racket that would actually fit my need like the Kuikma PR990 Soft..

Anywhere in UK to test out rackets?

Hi

Been playing 9 months or so and looking to upgrade my decathlon own brand Kuikma racket as a Christmas present finally

I don’t know anything about rackets and have only played with the one I have now, is there such facilities in the UK to go and test a load of rackets to see what you like and what suits you?

If the answer is no - how the hell do I find out what I need?

Edit: some more info after seeing the auto moderator comment

Current racket I can’t remember the exact model but it’s the cheapest Kuikma, it’s the soft one and it’s a round head. I get frustrated sometimes from the ‘trampoline’ effect making me hit balls long but I think I make that worse too by being inconsistent with where I strike the ball on the face.

I usually play right side, 3.4 Playtomic UK level, very scrappy defensive player who hasn’t played much racket sports so I make up for some imperfect technique and lack of winning shots by generally being the most athletic on court and being good at returning tough shots.

Help finding a maneuverable and powerful racket

Hey everyone! I am a roughly level 4 playtomic player and prefer to play more on the right, but also sometimes play left. I used to play high level tennis before transitioning to padel so I like playing fast and aggressive.

I’m currently using a Babolat Counter Viper and mine weighs around 380 with an overgrip which feels too heavy. I also tend to miss the sweet spot high so I was thinking to replace it with a lighter, hybrid/diamond shape racket.

I have been looking into the Head Coello Motion, Bullpadel Neuron Edge, Lebron Soft, Nox AT10 and some Stiga models like the 1.3k Hard or 3k.

I’m also open to hearing if there are any other rackets to consider. Thanks a lot!
