I saw a video recently saying P3R runs really well even with mods on the Deck, however they mentioned modded P5R was very iffy to run.
Im curious to know if P5R and P4G (the latter I couldn't find info on running on the Deck with mods) are viable to play with mods on the portable Steam system (if so, how) or if it would be kinda bad to consistently run.
This came to mind during some downtime, mostly inspired by Fither's "Persona vs. JoJo" videos where he drops Persona casts into other worlds to see how they'd solve that setting's crisis.
This time, we're pitting Persona casts against the stories of other Persona games. To randomize the setting and cast, I used a Spin the Wheel website and yeah, I ain't kidding, this is what I spun:
CAST: Persona 5 / Royal (The Phantom Thieves)
SETTING & STORY: Persona 2: Innocent Sin (Sumaru City) and if needed, leading into Eternal Punishment
Gonna be tuff since Persona 2's story is so tightly nit with the cast so bear with me here.
HOW THEY GOT THERE
Base P5 Route: Right after defeating Akechi the other day, the Phantom Thieves activate the Meta-Nav to infiltrate Shido's Palace for the final confrontation. Instead of the cruiser, they wake up stranded in Sumaru City. Their clothes have been replaced with Seven Sisters High School uniforms. Weirder still, fabricated memories are slowly bleeding into their heads as if they were always students here and Ren suddenly has deeply ingrained childhood memories of two people named Maya and Jun.
P5 Royal Route: Same setup, except they get warped right as they enter Maruki's Palace for the final showdown. Akechi and Sumire are included in the party.
THE OBJECTIVE
To return to their own timeline, they must unravel the mystery of Sumaru City, stop the "JOKER" curse turning people into Shadow Folk, and defeat the mastermind behind the scenes (Nyarlathotep).
The Catch: As time passes in Sumaru City, their original Tokyo memories slowly erode, getting overwritten by fabricated lives in this world (similar to the "10 years ago" Alraya Shrine history). They have to clear the story of Innocent Sin before they completely forget who they actually are.
What they keep and what they lose
The Meta-Nav is dead since Yaldy/Maruki aren't the gods in control here. However, they can summon personas in the real world now and still transform into their Phantom Thief attire somehow after ripping their masks. Due to the lack of the metaverse, their "thieving" capabilities have been reduced to that of a normal human. So, no more parkouring, swinging, and doing stunts if they can't do that in real life.
Like any spin-off game. Everyone's Persona reverts to their initial awakening (Captain Kidd, Carmen, Zorro, etc.). Ren loses his late-game compendium stock and starts solely with Arsène.
Unlike the original P2 cast, only Ren starts with the Wild Card ability to swap Personas for now.
They keep all the melee weapons, armor, and model guns Ren bought from Untouchable/Iwai. Remember, these are all models.
They keep all their skills and personality, as well as their personal flaws and traumas.
They will meet Maya and Jun in the same place/time as the original cast did. They will recognize and bond with Ren (the same way they did for Tatsuya) to the party's shock.
What will they experience
They're gonna have to experience most of what the original cast has experienced. Including fighting the former Austrian painter, and fighting their shadow selves at the mountain.
They'll have to use, deal with, and navigate the rumor system of Persona 2.
Do the Phantom Thieves defeat Nyarlathotep, prevent the prophecy/world reset, and make it back to Tokyo? Or do they fail, get stuck, and trigger Eternal Punishment?
Do you fanbases think that the live action series will be a completely original story that it will be taking place in same universe of the video game on the franchise because it will be not retelling 1:1 adaptation in any of the games similar to Arcane, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime series, Amazon Prime Video Fallout, upcoming Paramount live action Cyberpunk film and upcoming Amazon Prime Video Mass Effect.
so i do not have a pc or a good laptop rn and I somehow downloaded persona 3 portable on my mobile and i played a bit
then i find out there's a persona reload which has like better animation and soundtrack
so I'm like really confused rn
im gonna get a laptop like next year around may, so what should I do? should I js play the portable version , or wait for my laptop to play the reload?
cuz it feels like it i play it rn then won't i he just repeating everything when I get the reload? im js like a bit confused, please help
I feel really weird of the idea that all the characters are high schoolers and this would be fine if the games weren't also dating sims where you are pushed towards that direction and it would be fine since the games give options for platonic routes but if you are playing blind it can just happen regardless, like it wouldn't change anything in the story much since they are young adults going against the older generation and I think there is more story potential with that
I was playing Metaphor for the first time, and im having a blast with the game, but there's a problem that has damaged this franchise since Persona 3, social stats (royal virtues in Metaphor's case).
And i still cant understand why these are a thing. Why would you make a 100 hour long game, introduce a whole system focused on knowing the characters to a personal level, base the gameplay on said social system and then introduce a system fully dedicated to lock half this content so you are literally unable to enjoy it.
"Did you like a character and want to explore them? Oh sorry, you wasted your time talking with another interesting character instead of focusing on buffing the specific stat for this character you didnt even know would be necessary, now this character, their story, relationship and rewards are completely locked until you finish the game in 40 hours and play 20 more to meet them again in NG+."
This has been my main grip with this franchise since i got into it, but i got mad enough to make a rant because for 5 hours i've been seeing upgrades and innovation to the Persona formula just to get to this point where, again, im told that i will play for more than 3 weeks to this game without being able to enjoy half of it because the Devs still think that locking you out of the gameplay and character's development would be an engaging gimmick for a videogame focused on it's gameplay and characters. And honestly, im afraid that Persona 6 would do the exact same, despite being a completely outdated system that only forces you to complete a 100 hour game twice because of yes.
Hey there, so I'm currently working on a Persona Iceberg with my friend, and these are the topics that I've cooked up so far. What are some notable things that I'm missing?
Im certain we are definitely getting a P6 anime after the game release. A Manga definitely possible let alone an anime adaptation so i wonder who's your pick for the anime studio. For me, I think its either WIT or Mappa. These two are the only studios i can think off, i just hope this time around that the adaptation is properly adapted. Like every season is the Game's arc, i think it might work. Look idk, I just want an actually good Persona adaptation where its fun to watch. Whats your pick and wishes?
dude I don't not mess with the creepy ahh kid who comes to talk to me in my sleep, but I can't seem to refuse not wanting to talk to him or be his friend it seems, I haven't finished fully so no spoilers plz
A thought occurred to me. Because of the changes in Ken and Koromaru’s movesets in Reload does anyone think that Naoto might get access to the Kouha and Eiha lines of spells?
I happened to be in Tokyo and stumbled into the event, so I figured I’d share! It was pretty cool seeing all of the protagonists throughout the series being showcased. There was a ton of merch to purchase, interactive games with prizes, and music from the series being blasted.
I only wish I could upload more than one photo. :P
