Felt incredibly lucky to see this guy! It felt way too bright for them to be flying around but I’m very grateful I got to witness them!!

INaturalist said barred owl, so I think that’s right? Western WA USA

Burnaby, BC. Only my second sighting this year. I used to see them in this park regularly but nearby construction disturbed them so they moved their nest and don’t hang out close to me very often anymore.

Frequent visitor who broods nearby.

Was on night shift driving and see this little fella on the side of the road. I stopped slowly to get a pic and he turned to look at me. So cool seeing them it doesn’t happen often.

I was told in another post by multiple people that this is an owl. Ive never heard an owl sound like this so im curious to know what kind of owl is making this noise. Location is western Washington

A little painting I did a while ago.

Barred owl from my morning hikes in Oregon City, Oregon at Canemah Bluff Nature Park

Been seeing this owl in my yard on my table for 3 days now. Even brought a friend last night to join 😵‍💫

What are these guys guilty of??

Sitting so pretty, he was definitely posing!! Taken on a Nikon c72 and was beyond happy with the results!

Went up the ladder to some wire & this little guy/girl was looking right at me.

I'm working on a collection of tunes inspired by medieval bestiaries. The words are from the Oxford Bodleian bestiary (Folio Society translation) the image from the Aberdeen Bestiary.
