Question or Discussion What's Shion's and Anran's gameplay ?

I've been playing them for a whileand honestly I can't play them like genji or tracer. Even dive tank's "to dive or not to dive" mentality isn't working, cuz it leads to wors death ratio in lobby.

How do you approach their gameplan/loop, and what other tips and tricks do you know?

There are especially hard to play against such powerful heals this season.

VOD Review Request Have dropped out of Diamond, not sure what needs to change to get back there

• Upvotes

Title pretty much says it all, spent the last few seasons in Diamond on DPS, hitting Diamond 3 once. I attempted to focus on my positioning and playing my life last season and essentially dropped an entire rank.

I’m not certain if I’m not being aggressive enough or if I’m not picking the right character for each situation but I just can’t find a way to consistently win in low Emerald, which is frustrating because I know I should be a higher rank, but something I’m doing is making ranking up difficult, I’m not looking to be GM, ideally I’d like to hit masters just once. I’ll attach two replay codes below, any advice would be appreciated, do my mechanics need to improve? Game sense? Etc. will attach a loss and a win in which I feel like I played well, as I’m sure I still made plenty of mistakes. I wouldn’t be struggling to get back into diamond otherwise. :)

Game 1: NXW4H1. Loss on Suravasa, played Shion and Cass.

Felt like a tough loss, please point out what I could’ve done differently to help win this game, felt like I had no impact late in the game and I know I’m not going to rank up if I disappear in games.

Game 2: CDWZBM. Win on Esperanca, played Shion again.

I understand that this is a win and I feel like I had a good game, I’m just wanting to know how I can impact the game further. Wasn’t really close but took 10 minutes to win the game. I’m sure there are still plenty of things to improve on in this match despite the outcome.

Question or Discussion Trying to save a custom game I tried and liked makes me want to kill myself.

• Upvotes

How do I do this, and why would anyone design this so that it's not a 1-click "save as favorite" from the lobby or the game menu?

It seriously makes me want to hurl myself off of a bridge and into a river far below, and I have to say that because if I don't keep talking about how it makes me feel I won't be able to have 300 characters.

Oh yeah and if you try to do it between matches and you're 3 menus deep and get booted. It's maddening.

VOD Review Request Any Relevant Advice Would be Appreciated.

I really just want advice on how I could be playing better or any tips on situation awareness since I feel like that's one of my weakest links (also my aim but that's inconsistent lol). I also feel like I was underperforming and wish I knew what I could have done better. I'm a Pc player and only been playing on Pc for about a year or 2 (only started playing OW on pc this year). Like I said any and all relevant advice would be helpful. Please and thank you.

VOD Review Request Starting To Get Imposter Syndrome In Plat/Silver: VOD review for Anran and Kiriko

I am a legitimate Anran one trick on DPS, to the point where I feel clueless and as if I am feeding if she were banned. On Support I play Kiriko and Brigitte but I mostly play Kiriko, It feels like I've entered a slump where I somehow lost the groove I had last season.

I currently have a big disparency between my Support rank and my Tank/DPS rank (Mid to high plat on Tank and DPS, low gold to high silver on Support), and am seeing a drastic drop off in both my skill and rank on all roles.

I started playing Overwatch in June with the release of season 3 where i quickly plateaued in high silver on all ranks, so when I got up into high plat last season, where I remained at the beginning of the current season, I thought I was starting to get a hang of things.

Lately though I have been losing most of my games (I have won 5 out the last 20 played), most of the time I am solo queuing since I like this game and want to get better at it but. I am starting to worry if I have been boosted by my duo, since he is emerald, and I am ruining his games with my lack of skill and understanding. I am also frequently getting flamed by teammates aswell so I have entirely turned off communications since the negativity gets to me quite quickly and I end up playing even worse than I already was, I've recently also unbound tab so as to focus on my own gameplay instead of finding someone to blame.

I understand most of all that my aim is lackluster, since my duo forces me into 1v1 arenas where he stomps me between games, I am however wondering what else I am doing wrong. I have tried to VOD review myself but I simply do not understand enough about the game to pinpoint faults other than super obvious things like me being too far from the team. Since I don't understand my own wrongdoings, I think it could be helpful getting a second opinion, Thanks in advance!

VOD Review Request Requesting VOD Review - Gold - Plat Echo

This game felt very frustrating for me on echo. I think i started off strong, but it ended really closely in a loss. I'm pretty sure its because I wasn't doing as much at the start, (and also kept dying) but I'm not sure exactly what changed. I'm trying to get better at echo so any insights would help, thanks!

I'm also not sure if this would be relevant, but a few weeks ago I went on a huge win streak playing echo and tracer, up to my rank up game to Emerald, and stayed there for a while, then went back on a huge loss streak to where I am now.

Replay: 9SVRSX

Username: Okabutt

Hero played: Echo

Rank: Plat 4

Map: Esperanca

Played on PC.

I'm hoping to look mainly at my engagement timing, because in my games it feels okay, but it never works out in the end.

Question or Discussion What can I alone do against a Mercy pocket?

Assuming a 1v2 situation, what can I, by myself, do vs a Mercy pocketed DPS? What hero is the best option, which target should I go for and how should I go about it?

Very consistently, the biggest struggle I have in this game is a duo of a good DPS player and a Mercy who will do nothing but damage boost and heal them. My team in this situation is often busy dying to the combo with no idea how to handle it.

I main Sojourn, Cass, and Freja, and my go to is Freja to try and kill Mercy, but, especially given the Mercy can kinda be wherever while their DPS can show, it means I'll have to target the DPS. Which then means I have to use all of my movement to kill the DPS, who often just gets rezzed, which I can't do anything about because now my damage is gone.

Sojourn is even harder to find an angle on, and not easy to win on vs a pocketed DPS. And if I do, it's rezzed, they're more careful, back to killing team.

Cass would require me getting into flash range, and often just dying after burning flash.

If I try to get behind them, a better angle to kill Mercy on, I often just get chased and nothing comes from the diverted resources.

So what can I do to consistently win in these situations? It's never mattered what I say to my team, I'm not in high enough elo currently for them to understand or solve the issue. Maybe after enough games, but I'd like a solution I can use myself.

A character to play, a specific strategy, anything.

Question or Discussion How do I find a proper team for Bronze comp ?

Hi, i’m a new player and want to try to climb in comp. I’ve been trying to find a proper team but don’t know where to look.

I’m bronze 2 dps, and a lot of the recruitements i see are for diamond-plat, or one time rank sessions.

I’m looking for a way to find a long lasting team where we can climb together for a while, does anyone know a good source?

VOD Review Request How do I combat an Orisa as a Sigma? I played ranked and she absolutely demolished me and I feel like I can't hurt her.

So I was in my first game of ranked ever and I played against a team with an Orisa. we won the game but man, every time I would 1v1 the Orisa I'd lose. I only won one of the fights against her. the game went well and all, but how do I kill her easier? is there a method? or do I just need to keep onslaughting her until she finally dies? I'll post the game VOD code in case you wanna see from curiosity what I mean.

Question or Discussion What's the better option in 6v6 when the supports pick a low healing comp?

For example, Zen/Brig, Lucio/Mercy, Zen/Lucio, Wuyang/Mizuki.

Assuming there's already 1 tank and 2 dps and the supports refuse to swap. Am I better off picking a main healer like Ana, Kiri, or Bap, who are by far my best heroes as a support main, and trying to make the 1-2-3 comp work?

Or am I better off picking a self-sufficient tank like Wreckingball or Hog to make it 2-2-2? If the best option is to pick tank, what other tanks work with low healing comps?

This is also assuming the other team is running 2-2-2 and has a comp that makes sense.

VOD Review Request Requesting VOD Review. Hitscan main, Trying to learn Genji.

Yellow, I am Kern.

I am gold 2 on Cassidy right now but always love how dynamic and stylish genji plays so I wanted to learn him. I made a new account for that so to not disturb people's piece in my games and be matched with people around my skill level on Genji (which I believe is down the gutter). These are 3 games I played today. On GrimsVotn I did good stats wise but I don't know about my actual plays. On kings row, I got diffed and on circuit royal I got mega diffed.

J292TE for Circuit Royal
T3NR6Z for GrimsVotn
92252P for Kings Row.

Please let me know what I can work on and what were some glaring mistakes.

P.S. I also realise my mechanics are bad so any and all guides for mechanics or workshop maps for Genji that you guys found helpful would be much appreciated.

Kern Out.

VOD Review Request VOD Review Request - Plat/Emerald Brig (Code: 3CHJ7C). In-game name: Bubble. Focusing on off-tank brawling and peel timing. Feel like my resource economy is solid but team fights collapse.

I'm trying to improve my overall game sense and mechanics. I love playing brig for her versatility, and while I know she can lack healing, I try to use her brawling nature to my advantage. I feel like I got punished here super bad, and my tank tried following me up and died multiple times. I've been playing her since OW1 Days so maybe its just bad habits, but shes gotten me this far, and as I said, I love playing her.

VOD Review Request Moira main wanting to get out of Bronze

Hi all; just started playing Overwatch recently and been having a lot of fun. I've picked up comp and found myself hovering around Bronze 1-2. I would love to climb out of these ranks eventually and I want to improve at Moira. I read a lot of varying posts that I'm trying to implement but I fear I'm not focusing well enough on one thing at a time. How do you focus on improving one thing at a time? Overwatch is my first game of its style (I rarely play multiplayer games like this) so I feel like I'm dragging my team down being so new to this style.

I have a recent VOD code here that we unfortunately lost: CWEM4E

I'm ChuckOClock and played Moira. I'm Bronze 2 at the moment. Map was Dorado and I'm a PC player. I feel like the major thing I need to work on is positioning since I was struggling against the Widowmaker.

My brother watched over my shoulder and was complaining that I wasn't healing the tank enough. I was getting frustrated because the tank was charging into battles and dying quickly; should I focus healing or damage more, then? I've seen mixed answers on this and I'm guessing it's just "it depends".

Any feedback/constructive criticism is greatly welcomed. Thank you.

Question or Discussion How do i stop being so frustrated with myself?

So I started playing OW on PC in summer 2021 and reached low plat on support before OW2. I then played for the first 5 seasons of OW2, reached diamond 1 on support and diamond 4 on dps. My support rank was a bit inflated tho, it was realistically low diamond.

I came back to the game in 2026 season 1 and got my dps back to D4 with placements but with support I got stuck in plat 1. Then I played another season and I was plat 1 again on support, took a break and now I’m back again. I’ve been playing now for about two weeks and I can’t stop thinking about how it’s embarrassing for me to still be plat/emerald after 300+ hours in comp and 500 hours combined on the game. I started playing placements this season on my main and lost three games in a row on support in low plat, which is equivalent to old low gold. So I went from low diamond, to high plat to now low gold. I’ve been playing on my alt to get rid of the rust but even there I’m not doing the best in high plat games (19/8 win rate).

Of course I’m making a bunch of in game mistakes if I’m high plat before the addition of emerald, but I feel like my mental is really holding me back. I genuinely feel stress and anxiety going into a comp game and I want to just not care so much. Maybe the issue is that I’m too focused on getting back to my old ranks instead of just improving at the game?

VOD Review Request Reaching master vid review (ps5)

Vod: 4SD5HM

Hey guys I’m in diamond 3 right now and my mains are mostly Torb, mei and bastion. I used to be able to reach master back when overwatch 2 came out but since the changing of the ranking I cannot reach it back. Was wondering what do I need to reach that level again. I’m sharing this vod since I clearly got carried in this game I did less damage then the other dps and tank and see if you guys can point out things that I’m missing or I could have done. Sometimes I will get a winning streaks and losing which make me get stuck in diamond so also tips to avoid that and get more wins is appreciated.

Question or Discussion Is Ana considered a hero that’s easier to aim with?

I’ve made a few posts here since I struggle to aim but since getting a new PC it’s been smoother.

I normally play support and learned how to aim on Ana for the past few weeks, but want to learn how to dps too. Specifically, (I’m not sure what they’re called, “snipers” I guess) Ashe, Hanzo, maybe Widow, and others in that category.

But I’m struggling hard. I’m scoping on average 70% accuracy and landing most of my darts. My damage/kills are comparable to the dps. Heals are fine. I don’t understand why Ashe, Widow, and Hanzo feel so bad.

I’m curious if aim-wise, Ana is more forgiving or overall easier.

My usual mains are Brig, Mizuki, and Moira in role queue (comp low plat). DPS (gold) I can only play Bastion and tank (low silver) I can only play Zarya, Ram, and Orisa if that gives any idea on how I don’t really play aim related heroes.

Edit: sorry I meant it feels easier to hit the enemy team.

Question or Discussion Massive Win/Loss Streaks

EM 1 Peak so far after not playing for 4-5 years (whenever orisa sigma was all people played) and I am getting massive variations in the amount of games I win/lose. Sometimes I go on these crazy 10-13 game winstreaks where it feels like i'm on easy street (or if i do lose it's really really close and then back to winning) and then I am sent back into loser hell with little to no agency on hitscan.

I'm not sure if it's the new rank (I've heard that it can be quite evil sometimes) but it's making me feel like I'm not actually progressing or anything it's just throwing me into games to big up my elo only to take it away in this weird boom bust cycle. I'm on about the 4th cycle of this and I was just looking to see if anyone had experiences in the same vein.

VOD Review Request Qué puedo mejorar con Sombra?

Buenas, soy Platino 4 actualmente.

Question or Discussion Why does my SR always go down twice as much as it goes up?

So im plat 5 and had around 2000+SR, recently i deranked to gold 3 and lost over 600 sr. And every game i win, even if i have the highest stats in the game, i only get around 25 points. But when i lose i lose 75 sometimes even if my stats were the best in the team. Whats the logic behind that? My SR is going down by hundreds but my rank and performance stays the same, whats up with that? im almost in 1200 SR on gold 3

VOD Review Request VOD review for Bronze Tank and Support

I'm looking for some constructive criticism on two recent losses, one playing Juno and the other Reinhardt.

I'm currently in the metal ranks and trying to improve rather than just blame teammates for losses. I'd appreciate feedback from higher-ranked players who can identify mistakes I might not be recognizing.

I'm particularly interested in:

Positioning: Am I taking unnecessary risks or failing to use cover and high ground effectively?

Decision-making: Am I recognizing when to engage, disengage, or reposition?

Cooldown management: Am I wasting important abilities or missing opportunities to get value?

Target priority: Am I focusing on the right enemies at the right times?

Overall impact: What are the biggest mistakes preventing me from winning more consistently?

For Juno, I'd especially appreciate feedback on balancing healing, damage, and utility.

For Reinhardt, I'd like help with engagement timing, space creation, shield management, and knowing when I'm being too aggressive or passive. I'm typically a DMON main but DMON got banned.

Replay codes:

Juno: TQ4XQ1 Reinhardt: 4WBGD7

I'm not looking for reassurance that I played well. I'd rather hear what I'm doing wrong and what I should prioritize fixing.

If you could identify the top 2–3 improvements for each hero, that would be incredibly helpful. Thanks!

Question or Discussion Scoreboard is the worst feature ever added to Overwatch

The scoreboard started off as a modernized version of medals. I honestly liked the medals system, it gave you basically the same information, while stopping players from actively comparing each others stats, which is what I'm going to get into for this take. The only thing that it really added, was the ability to ult track enemies based off of damage/healing, which wasn't really that insane.
The scoreboard has changed from a simple revamp, to a plague of finger-pointing that is now infecting the Overwatch community. I'm not going to say this wasn't an issue in OW1, but it has come so much more prevalent in OW2, mostly due to the addition of the scoreboard.

No matter what, most players are not going to take the fault when they lose a match. It's kinda just the core of team-based games, especially FPS games. No matter how bad your decision-making is, if you see someone else doing bad, you will instantly jump on them for what *they* did wrong. This is creation of the ego, that basically every Overwatch player has, and this is the problem that I have with the scoreboard. The scoreboard is weaponizing this ego, it is giving players a reason to lash out on teammates; even if they did not see them do anything wrong. Displaying stats to the lobby is fine on its own, but when people are taking these numbers out of context, the scoreboard can be entirely misleading, especially when you look at how much info is not shown. 99% of the time, the stats that the scoreboard shows is incredibly irrelevant, you cannot tell how a game went based on stats alone. Of course, people are going to take this idea to an extremity and say "oh, so my ana with 600 heals is not throwing?" And yes, when your support is not healing at all in the span of 5 minutes, can I ask why you need a scoreboard to figure that out? Simply looking at your team during a fight can spell out so many things that you may not be aware of. Sometimes your team can simply be bad, but that doesn't mean it will always be their fault when you don't agree with their current stats.

There are so many reasons as to why a player might be performing "bad" that you shouldn't always just jump to conclusions. This is why I think the scoreboard is so unhealthy for the game. It is reinforcing this way of thinking and giving players a false-identity of what "value" really is.

Question or Discussion Thoughts on Wuyangs place in the meta?

Hey yall! I’m a GM wuyang (almost) one trick. I’m curious as to what people’s perception of him are across a variety of ranks. I know a lot of talk when it comes to supports this season has to do with doctrine, sombra, and cat being dominant and it seems like every other support is a solid step below those three. Nonetheless I’ve found a ton of success with Wuyang both this season and last, holding a 68% winrate with him right now at GM5. I mainly want to know how other people feel about him because it seems like with him more than other supports, I’ll get people talking mess because they believe his healing output is too low or they simply see anything other than doctrine and people throw a fit. Do you feel like he needs buffs? If so, what would you change? Do you like having Wuyang on your team? Does he feel frustrating or underwhelming to play against?

My opinion is that he’s in a great spot, very viable and flexible with his only real weakness being into hard dive, specifically dive tanks like Winston and ball give him a hard time. Supports that can do a lot of damage are incredibly valuable in this game ever since the global anti heal passive and Wuyangs ability to deal meaningful burst damage from complete safety is very strong. Wave is a great tool for saving your tanks and burst healing people and his mobility is solid and works as a strong escape tool. His healing is generally lower than most but wave into 3 seconds of active healing will save most people from most situations, and the passive stream is great at farming ult and enabling dps to be more aggressive.
