I had the privilege of getting this angel baby safely out from the underside of my (enclosed) gas grill tonight. I was cooking and heard some scratches on the metal. It makes me so sad how defenseless and misunderstood they are ☹️ Long live the Opossums 💗

Edit: For anyone wondering, I checked baby’s body/ fur for any burns or irritation. Luckily there were none. I was extra careful not to pull its tail while maneuvering it around the gas lines. There wasn’t any teeth flashing or hissing, and it just kind of sank into my arms 🥹 I felt like a Disney princess lol. I’ll need to figure out how to “Opossum proof” the lower compartment of the grill now because the grease trays are basically a buffet. I don’t mind feeding the Opossum community as long as it doesn’t put them in any danger

Ahe jas so completely stolen my heart.

We have a family that lives in a wood pile on our property...

We always talk to them but this one actually has been getting friendly...

I held him for a few minutes and released him back outside... Told my dad it was a new cat lol 😂 😂 😂

This photo was posted to our community in 2020. I don't know who created this art, but I think it is great!

That pouch has gotten huge! That must be why she was so feisty and attacking the other possums.

Her little toe beans. 🥰

I think it's neat to see the color variations. The one in the middle has the biggest non-round bat ears!

An idea for the upcoming season...

Not my creation or my photos. This was submitted to our subreddit one or two years ago. If it's yours, please claim it!

No hissing this time, very peaceful.

An interesting video, 6 minutes long. The first 5 minutes are the "courtship", the last minute shows the mating. The video ends before the two of them sit back and light up a cigarette. Not my video.

Her instagram is official! OpossumDragonParker I'll still be posting her here too.
