Places to eat in December
Heading to OC in December and looking for places to eat for a large group (10+). All adults. Prefer pubs/grills/beer types but open to others as well. (No pizza)
Thanks!

It is with great please I am posting our first Local Spotlight. Apologies for the delay since the initial poll. The Buzzed Word was kind enough to participate. Please have a look, leave a comment and if you are interested, make some time to patronize the establishment. I have been there a handful of times for events and shopping, great spot.

From the Buzzed Word:
The Buzzed Word is a combination bookstore, natural wine store, wine bar, and community third space in the 118th Street shopping center. It was opened in July 2021 by local Mickei Meinhardt, who grew up in OC and returned in 2020 with the goal to bring beautiful well-made wine, diverse books, culture, and community to her town that needed and wanted it; to build a place where people could find exciting new books and beautifully-made wines from small producers around the world, come with a friend to share a bottle and a snack in an intimate space, or spend time browsing (or reading!) with a glass in hand. And as a queer woman-owned space, we aimed to be as welcoming, equitable, and inclusive to all as possible.
Since then, the shop has more than met that goal. Mickie was soon joined by Ryann, her general manager, and together we’ve grown into a vibrant and beloved community staple. Books far and away outsell the wine, which we love, and is due to our very personal and carefully-picked selection. We focus on women writers, writers of color, queer writers, translated literature, and small press books—essentially, the stories and voices you won’t find everywhere that we want to elevate. (Though you can find some bestsellers, too!) We are the headquarters of OC Pride, and a recognized area safe space for locals and visitors alike to enjoy things they love with people they love, with myriad book clubs, events, parties, and more.
We still focus on natural winemakers with gorgeous bottles—and even have a book-and-wine club!—but we’ve also expanded into a large nonalcoholic selection as well as coffee and tea to give everyone an opportunity to enjoy a beverage while they browse. We are open every day for retail and drinks—see our constantly updated calendar to see what else is going on. You can shop us online—the wine must be picked up in store, but the books and gifts can ship nationwide—and support us from afar on Bookshop.org or Libro.fm. But please, come stop by and see us—we LOVE to talk books, bottles, and more with our customers most of all.

If you are here to shit talk, troll or otherwise be a nuisance, I'm going to ban you.
Here's an example: " I haven't been to OC since 1995. It sucks. I wouldn't go there ever. I have a family"
If you have constructive thoughts or ideas: let's hear em. But coming here and being an asshole is a waste your time and ours

Hey everyone, I am looking for a way to contact any restaurants in ocean city that would like a j1 worker for the upcoming season the coming summer. I was on the program last year where I worked at subway, it was an extremely high traffic subway though as it was one of the only food places at the location and a heavy presence of tourist that passed through . After the program i visited a a family member who lived in the ocean city area and they were telling me all about the places there. I would love the opportunity to work in that area and can assure that I would make myself a great asset. If anyone knows of email for someone I could email with my interest I would appreciate it.
Thanks for taking the time out to read my message and even a bigger thanks to anyone who offers any assistance.

I was cruising by on this beautiful convertible worthy day and I had a stop and take a pic to show the progress on the new Acme store on 94th St. As you might know, this is the shopping center where the Roses store was located. Looking around at the whole thing, the new store is huge. Can’t wait for it open. I would assume sometime in the spring, That said, living in West OC, I’m really excited about the new Giant store, which is also coming along. Looks like they’re fiting out the interior. The ceiling lights are all on all the time. Of course, it takes a while to fit out all the refrigeration units, the plumbing, all the air-conditioning, the flooring, the shelves, and then to stock the store. I believe it’s slated to open before the holidays. Although it looks like they have a ways to go before they can get all of the infrastructure in the parking lot and get it paved. They also have to complete the intersection at Racetrack Road and upgrade the traffic lights and such. Although theoretically, they could possibly open it just using the side road by the McDonald’s.

Hi everyone. My sibling recently passed away, and one of their final wishes was to have their ashes scattered at sea. My family and I would like to honor that wish together.
I came across Sea Services and was wondering if anyone has used their services or has any experience with them.
I’m considering Ocean City, MD, since it’s the most convenient location for me. If anyone has recommendations for reputable companies in the Ocean City, MD area , personal experiences, or advice on arranging a burial at sea, I’d really appreciate it.
Thank you in advance for any guidance during this difficult time.

I’m in Baltimore and the weather is clear today (80 degrees) if I drive the 2.5 hours will it be worth it ? Is the town cleared from the storms such as the boardwalk/and main beach area ?

This is very much not a fun story, just to be direct this is about sexual assault. I spent my day at Jolly Roger’s Splash Mountain during Labor Day weekend, I was there for hours. This incident happened midday probably.
I was sitting at a picnic table close to a lot of foot traffic with my back turned when I felt this hot liquid hit me underneath the table.
I thought it was inordinately hot pool water at first. But I look down and there is sticky, clear, white stuff dripping down my thigh. Definitely not water. Pretty obviously a certain human secretion.
I looked behind me and no one was there by then. I blocked it out of my mind for the rest of the day. It rinsed off easily after some splashing around.
Much later when I was telling my LDR boyfriend about this, needless to say, he was livid. He agreed that it was semen and told me that there was no way that could’ve been an accident.
But this is the main reason why I’m posting this. Something he pointed out to me which didn’t even cross my mind till then, was that I look younger than my age. I’m well into my twenties but I have that type of face that constantly gets carded. Most strangers mistake me for being underage and it happens frequently enough that I’m not surprised when it does but it is still easy for me to forget. So that motherfucker was probably seeking out an underage girl.
Splash Mountain is a family friendly attraction. It’s full of children and minors. Lots of families bring their babies there.
OC often gets shitty tourists here from out of state and rich people on vacation from Potomac or something. Those types can be too comfortable and get up to some illegal shit knowing they’ll just leave town in a few days. I’ve been going to Splash Mountain for many years and have never had any bad experiences. Much less a public sexual assault.
That person essentially committed a crime in broad daylight and was clearly being calculative choosing their victims.
Please be careful when spending the day at the water park. Ocean City is a beautiful place and a fun city with lots of ways to entertain people of all ages. But the touristic nature and segregational history tend to breed incidents like this.
Please be careful, stay with your kids, protect yourselves, always trust your instincts.

I’m looking for a whole cake. I’m happy with a random bakery or super market version. Frozen is fine.
Thanks in advance for any help. Our usual spot ( the Minit Market) says they haven’t had any since July.

I have a booth at Sunfest this year and am local.
I was tooling around the site and checked out the music lineup.
I usually hadn't bothered to go down to the event because little has changed over the years.
I guess I am now "of a certain age" that somehow these cover bands appeal to me...I didn't know there was a cover band for The Smiths! A bunch of others sound appealing as well AND The Amish Outlaws???
Hoping for nice weather and a fall festival feel. Wine festival is part of it as well as Trunk or Treat on the boards and the dog competition thing and hayrides on the beach.
And, of course, hoping a few sales as well!

So I’m going to be in Ocean City sometime in November when a lot of places start closing down for the winter and I’m looking for some recommendations for good breakfast spots, particularly ones that serve a really good breakfast burrito, that’ll still be open. Thanks in advance!

Hello! I will be camping with my dog in November at Assateague Seashore. While I'm there, I'm hoping to see the Christmas lights in Ocean City. Does anyone know of someone that dog sits on Saturday night for a few hours? Thank you for your help!

I (29M) have grown up going to ocean city all my life and I’m finally moving here at the beginning of November!
I’m a survivor super fan and was just curious if there are any watch parties for survivor anywhere or if there are other survivor fans in the area?

I thought this would be an easy Google but it’s not…
Looking for a lot of like 100-250ish blank vintage style scoped keychains. All I can find is new looking ones with a different shape. Ideally I’d like to get them personalized but can do that myself if need be.
This is just a small project for fun with a friend, not trying to make a business or anything. Does anyone know where they source em from in OC, or have a lead that maybe used to work there?
Weird question I know, but if there is an answer, it’s probably here!

Heads up. They were targeting EVERYBODY during bike week. Doesn't matter if you tried to beat the yellow or a 65 year old in a Ford Escape.
