Bernard - Schmalzlerfranzl Gold, for me, is a snuff with a medium grind, moisture content, and nicotine strength.

Besides the tobacco, there's definitely some dried fruit in the aroma; for me, it's probably raisins.

There's also a slightly chocolatey and leathery aroma.

Overall, 7.5/10 for me.

Normally i'm in english type snuffs, so i have to try.

My sinuses hadn't fully recovered, but my body was craving nicotine.

I chose Taxi Red.

The snuff is very coarsely ground, in my opinion even more so than Klostermischung.

The smell from the tin is pure ammonia, and the nose is similar, with a hint of cigarette tobacco occasionally appearing.

I don't know if the RED suffix is meant to refer to the strength, but in my opinion, this snuff doesn't contain much nicotine.

I would rate this snuff 6/10.

It's not bad, but I've tried many better ones.

I have some Silverdollar cola, but it's in chunks and not powder. Not sure if it's because of relative humidity or just how it comes, but I'd like to use it in my snuffer. If I use my spoon I can easily break the chunks apart, but it ends up with a chunky snuff.

Strong yet pleasant menthol and a pleasant smoked aroma and a tobacco base from Bernard.

Zweifacher has a medium nicotine strength and a pleasant, unobtrusive menthol with a fruity aftertaste. The fruit is supposed to be apricot, but I'm not 100% sure. I rate it lower than Postilon because I'm not a big fan of mint and menthol. 6.5/10

This is often a medium-strength snuff.

Beyond the classic Bernard tobacco base, you can detect milk chocolate and warming cinnamon.

I consider this snuff to be very tasty: 7.8/10.

Perlesreuter Smalzler by Pösch.

A very loose, yet moist snuff. The aroma is something like light leather and cereal coffee. The nicotine strength is very low.

How do people react to you doing snuff? I showed a co coworker, only because she asked if I vape/smoke. I said "no, But I just started this other thing. Its called snuff. But it's tobacco that you snort." She said "snuff like a snuff film?"

Then later she brings it up with a different coworker, "Hey, SonnyPiston does this thing called snuff"

So I went ahead and showed her since somebody else already brought it up. I tapped out a little clump on my hand and explained to her that it is legal, it's just tobacco in a powdered form. And you snort it instead of smoking it.

Her reaction was so idiotic. She literally said "I ain't never heard of no cigarettes you stick up your nose!"

Who the fuck said anything about cigarettes, I literally showed her the actual tobacco, in it's ground up form. I explained the process.

She could have said "tobacco is unhealthy" or something like that and I wouldn't have remembered. But, "cigarettes you stick up your nose"

Time for menthol doom.

Slightly chemical, but very tasty snuff.

Postilon is high on my list of Bernard snuffs.

One of my favorite snuffs. Strong and aromatic, its only drawback is that it tends to linger in the throat.

I hadn't even thought about my snuff stash in a while. Now I've got some watery eyes and a throbbing nose. Good times!

I was reading through the work done by u/snusalskare relating to ferrous metal in certain snuffs.

What’s the general consensus? I want to try a few brands like F&T and SWS, but I noticed the metal.

Could this just be naturally occurring iron? I’ve heard the same thing happens if you crush Cheerios and run a magnet through the dust.

Concerned or nah?

Needed a little fortification with a small dusting of sodium and potassium carbonate, along with a wee bit of calcium hydroxide and a bit of re-hydration due to age (from a two-year-old sachet), but it's sniffing up quite nicely. One of my all favorites from his brown snuff range. Good stuff indeed!

Just got an order of Bernard’s snuffs. A few of them sound nice and fluffy when shaken, but a couple others sound dry with hard clumps. Magic moments in particular.

I opened it up and took a look and there were a hard dry-ish clumps throughout. Tried breaking them up and that seemed to help a bit.

Old snuff? Or is this pretty standard?

Very strong menthol scent mixed with a very strong raspberry scent, very little burn or discomfort and all around super easy on the nose and clears you right up. It’s a lovely medicated snuff and honestly it’s been the favorite tin out of this haul so far. I will say it does have a slight cough syrup vibe but that’s kinda bound to happen with most things that are fruit x menthol. All and all im loving it and will absolutely be grabbing it again.
