Muslims live in different countries, speak different languages, and grow up in different cultures, yet we share a common faith.

Do you feel connected to young Muslims from other parts of the world, or do you mostly interact with people from your own country and community?

What would you like to learn about Muslims living in other places?

I'd like to hear your perspectives and experiences.

King Charles III welcomed Sultan Haitham bin Tariq of Oman to the UK with a powerful reference to a hadith of the Prophet Muḥammad ﷺ, highlighting the longstanding bond between the British and Omani peoples.

During the state banquet, the King quoted the Prophet ﷺ:

لَوْ أَنَّ أَهْلَ عُمَانَ أَتَيْتَ مَا سَبُّوكَ وَلاَ ضَرَبُوكَ

“If you were to come to the people of ʿUmān, they would have neither reviled you nor beaten you.”

[Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 2544]

The Sultan’s visit aims to strengthen diplomatic, economic and security ties between the two countries. The state banquet was held at Windsor Castle, bringing together senior members of the Royal Family and dignitaries to mark the historic occasion.

What is it like being a young Muslim where you live? Body:

Muslims grow up in different countries, cultures, and communities, so our everyday experiences can be quite different.

If you're comfortable sharing, tell us a little about what life is like for young Muslims where you live.

- What is something you appreciate about your local Muslim community?

- What is something you wish were different?

- What might surprise a Muslim growing up somewhere else?

You can talk about school, culture, community, faith, or everyday life.

You don't need to reveal your country, city, school, or any other personal information if you'd rather keep it private.

Let's learn from each other's experiences and understand how young Muslims live around the world.

What is one thing you wish more people understood about young Muslims?

Young Muslims around the world grow up in different countries, cultures, and circumstances. Despite our differences, we may have some experiences in common — and others that people outside our own communities rarely understand.

So, let's start a conversation.

What is one thing you wish more people understood about being a young Muslim today?

It could be about your everyday life, culture, faith, education, family expectations, future, or anything else you feel comfortable sharing.

You don't have to share anything personal. Keep the discussion respectful, and feel free to learn from perspectives different from your own.

Different places. Different stories. One community.
