I have spent three years creating as much online content as I can on the case to ensure that I am only sharing the most accurate information on it. So here is a below index of everything I have put together that should be of interest to anybody interested by the history of this case, and wants to go down a rabbit-hole of information on it (although I will warn you that it is upsetting).

Community Updates IMPORTANT: The future of r/MoorsMurders

Hello all, It is with a heavy heart that I let you know that effective immediately, I have resigned from moderating this subreddit. I understand that this may come as a shock to some people.

I am proud of the work that myself and the other moderators have put in over the past three years in building a community that is both respectful and highly active, and on my part I have always done my best to live up to the standards that we have set. There are several reasons as to why I have made the difficult decision to leave it (most of which are personal), but one of the big ones is that I no longer have the time to moderate this community to the same level that I have been previously.

Following discussions with the moderation team, we have decided to restrict participation in this subreddit (posts and comments) to approved users only. It will remain public for all to see, but in order to ensure that there is a manageable workload for the current moderation team - as well as ensuring that this subreddit remains respectful and dignified when it comes to discussing this case and the victims - only manually approved users will be able to post or comment in the subreddit. I will let the moderation team take it from here, as to exactly how restricted they want to keep it - I cannot say.

I want to make it clear that I am not losing interest in this case, and I will continue to follow the news about Greater Manchester Police’s efforts to bring resolution to Keith Bennett’s family - sharing anything I think is relevant about that.

I want to thank the other moderators for all of their work over the years - u/the_toupaie, u/DogeDayAftern00n, u/mostlysoberfornow, u/Non_Skeptical_Scully and u/GloriaSunshine. I also want to thank all of our subreddit members for your contributions and respect over the years, as well as Alan Bennett for his kindness. I never wanted this community to be yet another hotbed of misinformation and conspiracies, which is why we made the decision to moderate it as strictly as we did. And that’s the last thing I want to see happen to this subreddit going forward too.

Thanks, u/MolokoBespoko

(p.s. you’ll also see two automod comments at the bottom here now, since I reconfigured the automod immediately after writing this post and leaving my mod role. The more recent one has the entire first sentence as a link to the rules - not the “linked here” text.)

They are currently searching for a body of a lost airman from ww2 on the opposite moorTwizle Head Moss,, to the one where keith is buried.. The moor composition is the same as where keith is though to be so it will be interesting to see what they find and more over what condition the remains are in.

Keith Bennett I’ve heard that four years later, Russell Edwards is still spreading lies about his “finds” on Saddleworth Moor in the search for Moors Murders victim Keith Bennett. So I’m reposting my write-up around what we *actually* know about the search.

Hi all! I’m trying to find more information about Brady’s Public MHRT that took place in 2013. Would anyone know if this was covered in any of the (many!) books published about him, or of any good articles published about it? Thanks in advance!

Myra Hindley Spike Milligan and Myra Hindley

came across a piece of triva trolling through the national archieves and copied from google

Comedian Spike milligan wrote to Home Secretary Michael Howard in 1996 pleading for mercy for Moors Murderer myra hindley. In the letter, Milligan described Hindley as only an "accessory" to the murders and urged the government to show "Christian compassion" by moving her to an open prison.

The correspondence came to light in 2008 when the Home Office transferred nearly 600 papers regarding Hindley's incarceration to the national archieves. In his plea, Milligan paraphrased the biblical words of Christ, writing: "Lord forgive them for they know not what they do," arguing that her lover, ian brady, was the primary perpetrator

Discussion What made Myra evil?

Why do you really think Myra chose the path she did? Her background? Her infatuation, obsession with Brady? Or the evilness was always in her, she just had to meet her match? If she hadn’t met Brady, what do you think she would’ve became in her life?

Much like that of the Moors Murders, Cannock Chase, a place of outstanding natural beauty just north of Birmingham, also had it's own case in the 1960s which shares striking similarities to that of the crimes committed by Ian Brady and Myra Hindley.

For those who are familiar with Raymond Leslie Morris and the Cannock Chase murders, do you think there was any chance Morris may have been inspired by Brady? Or was he just another sick and twisted individual who targeted innocent children?

Brady and Morris had infact interacted with each other after their murders during a sparse feud while both inside HMP Durham, frequently throwing hot tea at each other.

decided to read the new book, not sure what it can add, but thought with it being Keith's 74th birthday yesterday I would refresh my memory of the case. Which was a good thing cos it made check on his brothers Facebook page to show we all remember Keith still and the other victims and their families which I think is important

FALSE INFORMATION/RUMOURS We’ve been over this argument. Based on official investigation notes and the unofficial search activities in the area over the past few decades, it seems very unlikely that Brady and Hindley would have buried Moors Murders victims in Staffordshire.

Article source is the Daily Mirror. The Daily Record have posted a similar article - the reason being is that it is part of a press campaign for Michael Attwell’s upcoming book on the case.

Discussion was myra lieing

what do think are the chances of myra having lied when she pointed out shiney brook as some sort of plan to let topping discover pauline but keep keiths location secret..seems a bit far fetched but it wouldnt have been hard for ian to follow her lead.. topping searched the areas she pointed out, as he said thoroughly, but as we know found nothing...its clear ian would never give up the location but he could have if he wanted to ruin anychance of her getting parole..in duncan staffs secong documentry one of his experts said he thought keith was in another area maybe the knoll but if she had planned for them to find pauline and keith was there as well she would have no control over whether they found him as well.. myra was an acomplished lier..the thousnads of words long letter she wrote in support her application for patrol she admitted was a load of lies
