Hi everyone,
We thought we’d start a regular series of sticky posts to get gather the knowledge and experience of the community - so we can learn from each other and be able to share our contributions with newcomers and future Monstera keepers.
The idea is that we choose a topic (see below on this) and sticky it up for a period of time and ask everyone to contribute what they know on the matter, share their experiences, and post up tips and advice on the subject too.
We can then all benefit from the community and use it to further expand our wiki.
Please feel free to suggest a topic here. I’ll kick it off soon with soil mixes.
We hope everyone will chip in and enjoy a good bit of community discussion.
Thank you all 🙏

My Queen is going crazy with her aerial roots like this. She did it since she was born :D I was not quick enough to stack on the next Pole Extension. No I have to cut those to fit the pole in, but there are plenty, she won't be hurt i guess.

A new leaf coming up and with winter, I assumed they'd get smaller. Well... she did but decided to give me my first inner fenestroodles :]

After some somewhat disappointing monstera mints/white monsters they have come through in my local stores!! Some highly variegated Thais, mints & white monsteras as well as some great aureas too!
My aurea is still a lil baby I couldn’t help myself when I spotted this beauty!

So, I definitely have a problem. I went to my local plant store and I found a bulbasaur monstera, great right! There were only 3 left and the one i picked was the only one with any variegation (the rest were green) so I got it! (first plant in first picture). Well i loved it so much and I ended up going back and they had just received more so there were like 20 there. I dug thru and found one i was obsessed with. After further examination in the car i realized the 2nd bulbasaur I now own actually has 2 other plants in it. So instead of 2 bulbasaurs i now own 4. Check in on me in a couple years because i now have 2 Thai cons and 4 bulbasaurs 💀💕
I left one plant still with the other because it was just one little leaf and now they’re both shooting out leaves even after the trauma of separating one plant from the 3!
1st picture: original bulb
2nd: plant i pulled off the main second bulb
3rd plant is the main plant and the little tiny one leaf plant thats pushing out another leaf too!

It’d funny how the more mature stalks throw yellow capsules. This the second one. It’s mother was the first

They grow like weeds and I can’t bring myself to throw away any cuttings so I just keep having to make more

I live in Australia where we have extra strict biosecurity due to being an island nation, so getting all those new varients are next to impossible and/or expensive. Well we have one that was created here and I got one today! Not sure if they're available in other countries yet but here is my first Monstera Uno!
There's actually 2 plants in the one pot, annoyingly planted back to back, so I'll need to repot soon, but they're gorgeous! $150 AUD, cheaper than the leggy Albos and Thai's they had there.
It's a hybrid of Adansonii var Laniata x Deliciosa var Albo. I assume they bred the Albo because it's more likely to be smaller but the variegation didn't come through. That's fine though, it's lovely and green!
Has anyone outside Australia been able to get this one or their other hybrid, "Aussie Dream"?

this is my monstera albo, ive been air layering it because i wanted to cut the top three leaves off and put them on a mosspole (and probably prop her bottom half). since then it has pushed out and hardened off two leaves and is now pushing out this mostly white one that is worrying me. im going to wait until this new leaf is out and hardened off before cutting the plant, im just worried that cutting it with that mostly white leaf would cause that leaf to die? not sure, i just want whats best for the plant because i love her, any advice is appreciated.
if any information is needed; she sits in a southwest facing window and gets harsh afternoon sun (and loves it apparently) i fertilize every watering with GT foliage focus and supplement “dune” silica to help keep the white parts white and she has her own humidifier that sits directly to her left.

Monsteras are my favorite plant. Which monsteras do you feel like is a “must have”?

I bought this the other day. I don’t know if it was like this when I bought it or if this has happened in the last few days but should I be worried about all these brown spots on the leaves?
I’ve been waiting for a delivery before I’m able to repot it but if this is root rot or worse then I might need to do it now.
TIA

Hi!
Does anyone know what I might be doing wrong? This is the second leaf that has turned black since I repotted the plant.
It’s planted in a well-draining mix of bark, perlite, peat, and coco coir, with stakes and a moss pole for support. I’m also using Advanced Nutrients Micro, Grow, and Bloom at 3 ml/L each.
I’m considering repotting it into LECA. What do you think? Would that be a good idea in this situation?

Hi everyone!
My Monstera has recently started developing yellowing leaves with large brown patches, mainly around the edges.
The affected areas look almost burnt, but they don't feel particularly dry or crispy to the touch.
Several leaves are affected, including some larger ones, while the rest of the plant still looks healthy.
It's kept indoors in my apartment.
Does anyone know what might be causing this? Overwatering, underwatering, a nutrient issue, or something else?
Thanks for your help!

I chopped and am propping her pot-mates. Anything I could do to save her?

I’ve had this Thai con for almost 2 years now and when I bought it with about four really small leaves, there was one misshapen one but I didn’t think anything of it. Now I’m finding myself disappointed every second leaf because I think I’m gonna get a glorious new larger one and I end up with a shrunk pitiful mutated one. Not to mention that leavs pictured in slide 2 and 4 have both come out of the sheath rotten in some places and I have no idea why. It’s like clockwork too, every second leaf is wonky, and every second wonky leaf has been rotten. I think the plant is just destined to grow like this, but has anyone ever seen this before?
Eta: that last leaf that I’m unfurling has not unfurled on its own in nearly two weeks, I think because of the rot, so I’ve been trying to make it open :,)

Hey Monstera parents,
My husband and I are moving next weekend and I would love tips and pointers on how to move my monster. It will most likely be transported in a flatbed truck. I’m thinking at the very least covering with a bedsheet of some kind any insights on how to secure it would be greatly appreciated. Music stand for scale.

I checked my monstera yesterday after watering, and found these black marks on a new leave. The plant has no visible insects or whatever.
I changed her spot three weeks ago (more or less) near a slightly more exposed window.
What could it possibly be?
