Yo it’s been a brutal 6months since I moved back from Oregon I’ve been so far I’ve been broken up with, my car broken down indefinitely, haven’t been able to see my child, lost my job, and now am losing the space I rent unless I can find another job anyone got help or advice or any leads ???? I got background mainly as a construction laborer also as prep foods and dishwasher and cashier experience everything but cashier experience 5 years experience in those fields, I’m 27 years old no car so only transportation is the bus anyone got anything or words of encouragement at the very least as the kids say these days I’m COOKED…

Was laid off from my software development job today. I live in Modesto. I am open to any form of relatively local employment right now. The current job market for my industry is very rough, so I do not expect to be able to stay in my industry. I am not concerned about a difference in pay. I don't have anyone in California, must less Modesto, so I'm just looking for anything that will let me afford a room and food so I can stay in town where my kids live.

If anyone knows of anything I would be very interested. Also if anyone has a spare room to rent to a 45 male in the next few months, I would also be interested in that. Looking for information from photograhers in the Modesto and surrounding areas. I am in the process of starting a photography centered business that would potentially sell peripherals for photography including film, sd cards and other useful equipment. The main focus would be offering rented studio setups and editing stations geared towards photographers that have limited space for those activities, and oppertunities for others to rent space to offer classes and workshops. My question is what would photographers want in that type of business that would allow them to not have to drive out of the area to a camera/photography store or not have to rely on online ordering. Please give me your most honest reccomendations for the services you would require and what would make you come to a store in town instead of other avenues. I normally run pretty late at night because it works with my work schedule and long commute. That unfortunately ends tonight. I’ve had some sketchy(ish) situations before but nothing where i felt threatened or truly unsafe. Tonight, i ran past a dude (who was seemingly homeless, but idk) who tried to ask me for something. Obviously, it’s dark and i’m a woman— I say no regardless of who or what is being asked if it’s dark at night and i’m running or getting gas. That’s just a hard line for me. so, i say no (firmly). I kept running, dude turns around and jogs past me, but then slows down just enough so he’s right in front of me. I stop completely and just wait. He immediately stops and pretends like he’s adjusting his pants for a solid 10 seconds. I start running again, and he immediately starts running again right behind me. I turn around and snap “knock it the **** off”. He pretty much stops, slows down but keeps walking in the same direction i’m running. I cut my run short and sprint home, looking over my shoulder the entire time. No more night time runs for me. Any ladies out there running that path, keep an eye out and carry pepper spray or something. i can’t say what his intentions were and maybe i’m just being crazy, but be cognizant and keep something on you just in case.

I don't think we have a lot of good bbq spots in town, or if we do I don't know of them. Anyone have a good spot for ribs? I rarely eat them but have been craving them lately. The best bbq spot I last ate at was big vics in turlock. Their brisket was good, the tri-tip was a little on the dry side, but with some sauce it was ok. And their sides were good as well.
