We now have a subreddit dedicated to the DMZ mode of Modern Warfare 4!
https://www.reddit.com/r/CODDMZ/
Posts and threads about DMZ are obviously still allowed on this subreddit. But for the people who would like to deep dive and only focus on DMZ itself they now have a place for that.

As a Korean who completed mandatory military service, I really appreciate Activision treating the Korean War as more than just a "fun, fictional setting."
Playing through the campaign, I could deeply resonate with the emotions of conscripted soldiers who have no choice when war breaks out. I was also really moved by how Activision highlighted USFK service members fighting shoulder-to-shoulder with Korean soldiers.
Having participated in joint defense training during my service in real life, seeing the attention to detail and the bond between soldiers of different nationalities really hit home for me.
Thank you to Activision and all the USFK service members out there.

My phone wallpaper for attention 😊
I started with CoD & CoD 2 on a CRT monitor. I was there in the CoD4 & MW2 prime time. I was sweating my hands off on quickscope 1v1s “exams” to join a clan to run SnD to farm clips for montages (but naturally, never set anything up in a match just for the sake of getting a clip!).
After watching content from, now retired YouTubers - smallbeans, themoodieswede, zzirgriz, onlyusemeblade, xtoysoldiier, iReapz, xDarkness and Optic Predator, I started creating quickscope montages from OG MW2 in Sony Vegas and had 200-something subs on my YT channel, which would have been a huge CoD channel by now if I didn’t delete it for some dumb reason.
Then there was MW3 and BO1, which I loved both and also created montages from these.
But then I lost the spark for CoD and did not play any CoDs until 2019, which means I skipped all CoDs between BO1 and MW2019.
I was skeptical about the reboot at the beginning, because the rebooted MW did not feel like my beloved Call of Duty for some reason, but I played it for some time. Absolutely loved the story though, but multiplayer was too fast for me. Then something happened with the rebooted MW2, because I played a lot of this game and got my natural competitive soul back, bought MW3 on release to say my last goodbye to OG MW2 maps, and here we are today.
MW4 is, in my opinion, the best CoD of the entire rebooted series in terms of singleplayer and looks to be just as good as MW2 and MW3 in terms of multiplayer. I bought the game on PC and PS5 and beat the campaign three times, twice on Veteran (PC & PS5) and once on Realism (PS5).
But… I cannot get enough of it! I feel that the old CoD kid in me just fell in love with CoD again, which feels both scary (I will ruin my sleep schedule) and incredible (I feel like the 2009 me) at the same time.
I am ready to be on the top of the scoreboard in multiplayer again, at 32. Can’t wait to see you in Korea!

So I'm currently active duty, stationed in Korea, and I thought it'd be funny to show the KATUSAs (Korean soldiers assigned to us) in my office the campaign of MW4. Obviously theres a lot of creative liberties taken to serve the larger narrative of the COD franchise and ignores a few real world realities.
Hats off to the developers for getting a lot of details correct; we were pointing and laughing at small things we noticed or found relatable.
The beginning scene with them going to the convenience store was uncanny cuz we literally do that all the time.
It was neat having the KATUSAs explain more of the subtleties of the Korean language and history, etc, cuz even though we're here to help defend the peninsula, I'm very much an outsider looking in so theres a lot I wouldn't know.

The negative reviews seem to be related to performance issues, but otherwise it seems everyone loves the campaign. I wonder how it will settle once DMZ and MP come out. But if I'm not mistaken, this is the highest rated a CoD on Steam has ever been, right?
EDIT: Just checked, the only CoD with a higher positive rating is the original Call of Duty from 2003 at a 94% positive review rating, with Black Ops II, CoD 4 and World At War tying for third place at 92%.

The fact that you have to stop the bleeding when you’re down and using a medkit involves using a ✂️ and all compared to only using a needle is actually so refreshing.
Gameplay from the DMZ mode.

We usually need to launch the game and let it sit in the background. Now we can preload shaders in the background without running the game at all?
This is one hell of a QOL update 🔥
