MOS/AFSC/Rate Specific How Long Did You Wait to Get the Army MOS You Wanted?

For those joining the Army who decided to wait for the MOS they really wanted, how long did you have to wait before you were able to book it? I’m specifically hoping to get 68E (Dental Specialist), so I’m just trying to get an idea of what to expect and how long the wait typically is. I’d really appreciate hearing about your experiences. Thank you!

Enlisting 36 Year Old Green Card Holder Enlisting as E-4 (92Y,92A,36B & 68E. Which MOS Would You Recommend?

I’m 36, joining the Army as an E-4 and currently a Green Card holder (LPR). I have a professional background in finance.

I’m considering 92Y, 92A, 36B, and 68E. My plan is to serve one contract before transitioning into a civilian career. **I’m also open to switching career fields if it offers better long-term opportunities.**

For those with firsthand experience, which MOS would you recommend based on **quality of life, daily duties, promotion opportunities, and civilian job prospects?**

I’m leaning toward logistics or finance, but I’d appreciate honest feedback, especially regarding any limitations for Green Card holders.

**Which would you choose, and which would you avoid? T.I.A**

Service Benefits Can a private move off post without having CNA or being unmarried?

Im a Pfc living in an overcrowded base with 3-4 people to a room. The barracks here are terrible and I meet a girl about 4-5 months ago and we have been living together and splitting rent for the past 2 months. We live really well together and balance eachother out, and everything has been great. The 1 year lease term has recently ended and I will need to sign the lease if I want to continue living there and it’s a month by month lease. I applied for a CNA packet but they won’t let me due to E-5s and 4s already being on the waiting list. My leadership is tracking my situation. I’m wondering if there is anything that can get my in trouble for living off base without CNA and being unmarried? I don’t want to lose living with her but I can’t go back to trying to get 4 people through showers and having 3 people shave in a mirror at the same time. I’m a grown man and lived in my own apartment prior to the army

Joining w/Med issue Medical waiver requirements for each branch

I (21m) was turned away by a National Guard recruiter because I've been taking Sertraline (50 MG) for 1 month for depression and Vyvanse (haven't taken for 6 months) for ADD. According to him I need to be off the Sertraline for at least 2 years in order to join. I can stop taking it no problem, but I can't afford to wait that long. Are any of the other branches' requirements for medical waivers more lenient, or am i wasting my time? My next choice would be Air Force, but I'm willing to do anything.

🌍Non-US is military life for me or not?

hi, i am 18 years old female who lives in Philippines. i am currently a student, i do need opinions before i join military, army. i am now in a situation where i have to choose which path or life i should take. i have been considering joining the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) to be a full-time military officer but i am not quite sure about my decision yet.

as a kid, military looks cool and respectable. as a teen, many opinions and aspects of reality kinda changes my thought of it.

i can't see myself to be anything else. i can't see myself as a teacher, as a agriculturist, as a architect, as a engineer etc. it doesn't hit to me well that "oh i want to be that one". i just want to have "purpose" in life to be honest.

i want your opinion to help me shape my decision.

thank you.
