I've only just recently, as of a couple of days, heard the 'Invincible' album for the first time ever. I am a big MJ fan, since I was 3-4 years old (1984-ish), but I have no memory of the time surrounding the release and promotion of 'Invincible' in late 2001. I'm hoping that the long-time MJ fans can shed light on this gap in time for me. What was the overall feeling? Was it highly anticipated? Did it go under the radar? Did Michael do interviews and promos? Did 9/11 hamper much of the hype surrounding the album? What was the historical context?
The biggest reason I have no recollection was because I was in 2nd year of university and was more focused on my schoolwork, on 9/11 and its fallout, and in going out to the college bars. I also didn't have a TV. Heck, iIt was only last year that I even learned MJ had a big TV special, with important guests such as Whitney Houston performing his songs. I had no idea it happened! I don't remember any of his videos, I don't remember any big promotions (I doubt he did anything like HIStory), or heard any of his singles apart from "Butterflies"--which I thought was excellent--and I only heard it like 2 or 3 times and never the complete song. For the most part of the 2000s I only remember the tabloid news providing the entertainment fodder for the general public, not so much 'Invincible'. So, What happened? What was the general feeling of 2001-2002 regarding the album? Were there 'world premieres' the same way as in his golden years? I draw a total blank.
Oh, and my take on the album: It's a good album, but it doesn't feel too inspired like his previous work was. It feels as if his passion was drowned out by its production. Still a good album, though.

And I would start by saying hate is probably too strong a word for what I’m discussing. However, everyone I see talk about Thriller always says some form of ,”This song is the only skip” or “The weakest cut on the album.”
That song calms my nerves and always puts me in a good mood. It’s catchy and harmonious and overall pleasant to the senses. I just don’t see how people feel like it weakens Thriller just because it’s not a genre bending mega hit. It’s fine as it is and I dare I say one of my favorite MJ tracks.

The sequins and rhinestones on this jacket are such a pain to draw!

I always knew that Michael Jackson’s Bad jacket was purchased from the punk fashion store “Poseur” on Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles but I never had seen any photos actually showing the jacket in relation to the store other than just word of mouth saying Michael bought his jacket and pants for the Bad video from there.
That was until last night when I reverse image searched a picture of my video accurate Bad jacket and came across this picture of a jacket that looked incredibly similar to the original Bad jacket minus a few minute changes. The photo linked to a website called “poseur.net” which unfortunately is now defunct but using the Internet Archive’s WayBack Machine I was able to view the website in its mid 90’s entirety.
The website was a personal blog/portfolio for Poseur’s late founder Jim O’Connor. On the front page of the website he shows an early iteration of the Bad jacket which he had made in 1980, 6 years before Michael ever bought his, which could explain the differences between Michael’s jacket and this jacket and Michael’s was a later model. I also found this photo on Facebook of this lady (third photo) showing off her jacket she said she had gotten from Poseur in the early 80’s which matches up with the photo of the jacket shown on the Poseur website, adding weight to my theory that the jacket Michael had looks different as the one he got was made at a later date and was likely refined over time as Jim made more of the jackets.
I feel like Jim O’Connor doesn’t get nearly enough recognition for his work considering he made one of Michael’s most iconic jackets he ever wore so I hope this post brings some light to his legacy. Also rest in peace to him too as he died of cancer at age 80 a few years back:(
I’m not sure if anyone’s uncovered this before but it was so awesome to find all of this out. What do you all think?

I’ve been seeing people online already doing unboxings of Michael Jackson’s Invincible vinyl, posting pictures of their copies, and even playing songs straight off the record. Meanwhile, my order says it isn’t even going to ship until November 23rd.
I’m genuinely curious how some people are already getting their hands on it when others are still waiting weeks just for their orders to ship. Are certain retailers sending them out early, or did some people get lucky with their shipping dates?
For those of you who already have your copy, where did you order it from? And for those who ordered online, what does your estimated shipping date say? I’m trying to figure out why there’s such a big difference between everyone’s orders because waiting until the end of November while seeing everybody else enjoy theirs is crazy. 😂

I’ve started drawing Michael again on postcard-sized(148×100mm) paper. I’ll be adding color with colored pencils, so I’ll erase these sketch lines later😝

English is my second language so sorry for any mistakes. I asked my English teacher if we could do an exercise where you feel the gaps with the words you hear with an MJ song, and she said yes but it would be good if there was some grammar exercise. If anyone could help me find a song like that please comment, I'm an MJ fan myself and Bad is my favorite album. Have a nice day

Recently E'Casanova posted a video (which is deleted now) and it said he did press conferences and promotional events for Michael in the Bad Tour’s USA Leg, I am curious if anyone knows about what specific things he did or if anyone has or has seen photos/videos of it. He also mentioned about doing press conferences on Entertainment Tonight in 1990.

Hello fellow mj lovers. For this upcoming Halloween I got a legit licensed thriller costume from a costume website. Im happy with it and I was looking at make up tutorials and I realized something. The jacket that came is clean and not ripped like how it is when he becomes a zombie in the video. I wanted to do zombie make up but in the video when his jacket isnt ripped and tattered he is normal. I wonder if it would look weird if i do the zombie make up with the clean jacket. 🤔 I want to do it either way just curious what you all think. Thanks!
