Mod Post A note for pre-op subreddit participants from the perspectives of post-op community members NSFW

As a moderator, I clearly understand the importance of providing space for pre-op and post-op people to interact and share information and experiences. But as a community member of many open- and closed- access forums and groups for post-op people, I feel there is a disconnect in the things post-op folks want and what pre-op folks seek out of the interactions here.

  • Firstly, the application of compliments is something I’ve seen brought up. Putting down others in the community in the act of showing admiration for someone’s body is not a compliment, and convinces a lot of people that they are not welcome to post here. While we know that these comments are made with good intentions, saying things like “that’s the best meta I’ve ever seen here!” Is directly rude and harmful to others who post who do not get these messages, and can make the people receiving the “compliments” feel awkward. This same principle applies to “I hope I look exactly like you post-op” and similar comments; it makes the poster feel uncomfortable, as it would be weird for anyone to hear that a stranger wants their body to belong to the stranger, and people have voiced to me that it can feel objectifying, despite good intentions. Additionally, with metoidioplasty your body post-op is largely based upon your pre-op body, this is something that rings true for all forms of metoidioplasty. Even if identical twins went to the same surgeon and got the same surgeries, there will likely be slight variations in their surgical outcomes. And that is not a bad thing. Natural variation is what makes the world so vibrant and complex; if everyone had the same exact dick it’d be a little strange.

  • Related to the uncomfortable nature of some of these comments to posters, as well as to discussing “the best” dicks on the sub, there needs to be a general reminder that these are people’s actual bodies we’re talking about. They do not exist purely for your viewing, inspiration, or self-discovery. The posters here are graciously sharing their intimate and personal experiences in hopes it may help someone who is facing the same things as them, or to find community for themselves in some of their hardest moments. Our old “no saying the word ‘results’” rule was meant to tackle this, and since changing it to our current rule 5, “be mindful and correct your language if requested by an individual”, I think this idea has been forgotten among the populace, hence creating the need for this reminder post.

  • The most important thing about someone’s surgical outcome is whether or not they are happy with it. Not your opinion on how it looks, your personal views on “functionality”, or anything else of the sort. Full stop. Obviously if OP is open to questions about their surgeon, and you want to know if their surgeon offers something you may want, like their rates of successful STPing among patients, that is another story. But essentially ranking people’s bodies based upon how happy you would be with their body is irrelevant. If OP is happy, that is what matters. This is such an individualized process with so many different factors that aren’t universal, that someone may have wanted their dick a way that you would not prefer for yourself, and that is totally valid and accepted in our community under rule 2, “respect individual differences”.

  • This brings me into my final, and perhaps most important, point: not respecting post-op people makes this subreddit less impactful for everyone. If some people think they won’t get the same admiration as someone else, they simply will not post. You will not see the true variation in meta because people who are either unhappy with their bodies, or perfectly happy but may not appeal to the masses, simply do not post out of fear of what pre-op (and a few post-op) people may say (or not say) to them. I even struggled posting photos early in my journey because healing photos don’t get as much love and support as healed ones. And this makes it so much harder for everyone to find information about early healing, to find information about having and living with a buried penis, to find information about having surgery with smaller than average growth, to find information on new surgeons in small towns, etc.

This post is not in any way meant to target anyone in particular, it is just something I’ve seen discussed in my closed-access post-op groups and I wanted to publicly address it to hopefully change some perspectives and make this community a more supportive, welcoming place for ALL post-op people; not just ones with outcomes that appeal to the masses.

Vent Got diagnosed with syphilis one week before surgery NSFW

I was supposed to have my metoidioplasty next week, but the pre-op bloodwork indicated I have syphilis. I've never had any symptoms and have only been with 1 person sexually (partner) in the last 4 years. Well fuck. I'm now on doxycyclin (can't take penicillin) and I'm supposed to contact the clinic after I'm done with the treatment, which will take at least 4 weeks. The derm/venereologist said it could even take a year before I'm cleared to be operated on again though.

I've built and planned a few years of my life around this surgery. I'm paying out of pocket for everything, and I probably won't be able to cover the cost of the pre-op tests, lodging or the reservation fee again. I can't do this anymore. Perhaps I was never actually meant to be.

Keep yourself safe. If I survive this, I'm taking vows of chastity.

Question Simple meta w/ scrotoplasty? NSFW

Starting the process of getting meta and i know i only want simple, i dont care to stp, mostly worried about improving my sexual function and gaining a scrotum. I both give and receive (only via toys and fingers) so i was wondering if anyone had experience with this type of procedure or had any knowledge on how having the remaining skin wrapped around the phallus vs trimmed effects being able to penetrate and/or receive

There is no such thing, and I really, truly mean no such thing, as having too much gauze.

Non-woven 4x4s. I went thru them like you wouldn't believe.

I’ve finally gotten my surgery date for May 19, 2027!!!!

If anyone has any tips or details about recovery at WCH in Toronto, feel free to comment.

I’ve been waiting for this day for the past 3 years. I can’t believe I made it to this point where I literally am getting bottom surgery.

Also looking for some recovery life hacks and things to maybe purchase before surgery!

Advice Is it true NSFW

I think from what I see phalloplasty is more harder then metoidioplasty I think alot of complications can happen with phalloplasty and your using body parts to make your dick i would think the scar would not go away and might worry you or remind you of your surgery

I’m happy but exhausted. The anesthesia was a bit harsh the first night bc I just throwing up so much. But when that pass all better. The catheter stresses me a lot 😂 but oh well. It is done now.

I had surgery with dr Lago in Madrid.

Advice How far would i be able to go in one surgery / would i be able to get full on phalloplasty later on NSFW

I had a top surgery consultation appt today (Dr. hanna in TX) and he lowkey upsold me (im saying this in a lighthearted joking way) and told me hed be able to also do iirc simple release? I never considered this surgery as an option full transparency, it was always phallo or nothing for me, and he said that by doing this it knocks out the first step and prepares me for it. My questions are how far can i go with this surgery with the explicit intention of it becoming phallo at some point? My doctor honestly had me on an abysmally low dose since i was 17, im 21 now and only just now got on a full dose, so i still experience periods (i shouldnt!!!!!), would i be able to get top surgery, a hystorectomy and at least UL with vaginoplasty (? Is that what its called. The part where they close you the hell up). I understand the only one who can truly answer this is the doctor himself but i was wondering if this was possible specifically with it being a precursor to phallo in mind. And if not what would be a good precursor to it if going for the meta at all

Post-Op Peeing w Meta post RFF NSFW

Post image
68 Upvotes

I got rff phalloplasty 3 years after having meta with UL, v-ectomy, and simple scrotoplasty. I chose to leave my meta unburied since I like my natal dick and didn't want to lose it nor go through UL a second time. I am very happy with my decision.

Here is how i pee now that I have a second, larger penis above my meta dick. Basically the same as before, I just pull my briefs over like i always did, just now holding my bigger dick to the side so it doesn't end up in the stream.

The only thing I am less than happy about is that my suspensory ligament had to be cut to access the nerve for my rff hookup, which has changed the shape of my dick a bit. There's a little puff and an indent on the top of my shaft now that may or may not improve as the last of my swelling disappears. My sexual or UL function have not changed, and I seem to have retained all sensation in my meta, so I really can't complain much, especially as my meta dick is pretty much hidden behind my phallo penis anyway.

Surgery Photo My results, 15 days later NSFW

Post image
32 Upvotes

I had stage 1 of full meta (vaginectomy, UL and scrotoplasty) in the Spanish (Madrid) public healthcare system in October 5th. Stage 2 (implants and suspensory ligament) will be in March-April. I have an urinary catheter connected above my pubis since the day of the surgery until at least the end of this month (also had one through my dick but they took it out after the first week), as well as stitches below the tip of my dick, each side of the scrotum (not visible in the photo) and my perineum. Since they're not getting absorbed, I assume they will also take care of that during one of the three consultations next week.

Barely no pain so far and just a little bit of blood every day. I'm eagerly waiting for the day when I can pee through my dick.

Feel free to ask anything if you want :)

Question Bifid scrotum veterans please NSFW

I got a bifid scrotum with XS implants one year ago, i had a revision to bring the one down recently (2m) but its still a bit high which i expect with the swelling. my question is, over time does the scrotum hang lower naturally or should i start stretching it manually? id like it to be a little more dangly but i like the bifid look. they are still both a bit high up near my penis at the moment but i havent been stretching or anything other than the massage to help keep the left one down.

Ideally id like to go up to a S implant one day if i have space but if i get the look im after over time then i wont bother with another surgery. my thinking was the larger the implant the hangier it will be but this may not be the case.

Thanks for any replies answering my question guys!

Question Scrotoplasty following removal of the upper part of the labia majora? NSFW

Hello,

I am currently on a path toward a simple metoidioplasty, without vaginectomy, scrotoplasty, UL or implants, but it does include the removal of the upper part of the labia majora, around the penis.

If I were to change my mind, are there any methods that would still allow for a scrotoplasty, despite the removal of part of the labia? If so, which one(s)?

Post-Op Meta extensor review NSFW

(2026/07/09 full meta with UL, v-nectomy and fat-filled scrotoplasty)

I recently bought the Pymander Prosthesis meta extensor v2 (90€ + 40€ shipping fees), that is not made to hold itself to the body. I thought I would be satisfied with it but the lack of realism and the not-holding side disappointed me more than I would admit.

After talking with a guy who bought the MorMe basic STP (67€ + 40€ shipping fees and taxes) to use the penis part as a meta extensor, I decided to invest in it (I chose the medium length) to hopefully be fully satisfied. I specified in my order that I didn’t need the funnel part so they send me only the penis part. I made a comparison video of both prosthesis to show the differences. The medium length of the MorMe is the same size as the Pymander, but the realism is mind blowing. The Pymander one is heavier (76g) versus 64g for the MorMe. You can feel the silicon is thicker in the Pymander but both are still very squishy. The inside of the MorMe is smooth so the urine flow is better to my opinion, while the Pymander one is not which can hold some left-over urine I think. The MorMe can hold itself to my dick but doesn’t restrict the blood flow because I am barely large enough to go inside, and the silicone is super soft and elastic. I just received it so I didn’t packed with it for now but I’ll try later today and post picture of it naked and with underwear. I think I’ll need some time to learn how to put it on myself, I have a big month and am overwheighted so it’s kinda difficult for me to access my dick.

AMA if you have any question

Surgery Journal Pee trial (days #5&6) NSFW

It has been a long road here. The SPC has now been in for 354 days continuously with multiple tube changes. I have spent just over £4000 with travel, accomodation, food, medical supplies, prescriptions, lots more travel again and again.

Trials #1 & 2 were epic fails back in November 2025. Painful fistula resulting in revision certainty and an SPC to bring home.

Trials #3 & 4 went much better. #3 was great, until #4 when i noticed the leak, but no pain. Again me and my SPC went back home, but only for 2 more weeks......

My SPC is definitely getting removed on 22nd October. It will be 8 days shy of 1 year. One more trip!

Yesterday i decided to have a little go at peeing (#5) in the shower but got myself a bladder spasm and opened the tap before it could take hold.

Today I tried again (#6), no bladder spasm and the power i have in my stream now..... i got it across the room. I didn't have a leak, for the first time in almost a year I feel safe to pee by myself. No pain, no dripping, just pure pissing all over the shower.

I will feel so happy leaving London without my annoying little SPC friend. 4 more sleeps.

Question Sensation post op NSFW

I have my meta surgery scheduled in November and I’ve been wondering how sensation changes and comes back after surgery.

How does erotic sensation feel on your t-dick?
How do the balls feel? And do you feel erotic sensation on your balls after a while post op?

Surgery Photo How does healing /wound separation work?? NSFW NSFW

Hey guys- today makes me 2 weeks and 4 days. I’m in some pain moving around, and it turns out with the complications with the UL I had made harder to heal. I went to the ER 2x and to the hospital where my surgery was too. I went to Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston MA with Dr Agarwhal and Dr Boysen. I noticed some wound separation a few days ago- and it doesn’t hurt, but I was placed on a few different antibiotics just in case. Can anyone tell me if this is more of an inertial healing issue or a good idea that I’m fucking things up? Also turns out I had pneumonia during the second ER visit, which didn’t help I’m sure. From the left to right, it goes 2 days, a week, then 2 weeks even.

My team isn’t worried about anything, and told me to relax during the time of recovery, and I have another POST OP on Tuesday.

Question Showering after meta NSFW

Hello! I am going for meta with UL +
Vaginectomy + Hysto this Summer. Due to my geographic and cultural background, I shower twice a day and this is very important for me. I know that with surgery the frequency and thoroughness will shift a bit for a while. I am wondering about you all's experience with shower/hygiene post surgery. Thanks!

Advice Anyone have a similar anatomy to me pre simple release/tubulerization? NSFW

I'm 11+ years on T and my surgeon says I have really good growth, but my t dick seems more underground than most of the guys I've seen irl and in photos. I'm wondering if any of you had this before your simple release surgery and how your results have been.

My surgeon said some guys like me have a little extra skin covering over the head that he'll just release along with the ligament release? It's been confusing for me because I see photos of guys' pre-op dicks and they still have a visible head and what looks like a foreskin, which isn't what mine looks like.

Thanks for any results/thoughts!

Question Question about getting simple then UL later? NSFW

I know it’s not possible to do extended then UL later, but is it possible to do simple and then UL down the line if you so decide? Or if not that any other similar? I really am having a hard time deciding which I’d want to go with and surgery is still years away but idk. In an ideal world I’d go UL but length is very important to me as well. If not that it would be awesome to be able to get simple or something similar and if I decide to go with UL later do that. Thanks in advance guys.
