i am SO DEVASTATEDDDDDD about mario kart tours end!!!! that game has been apart of my nightly routine for 3 years straight and my boyfriend and i really enjoyed playing together as well! i’ve tried beach buggy 2 and the controls are ass imo… i’m looking for a similar experience to tour with the easy controls, multiplayer options, and fun characters to choose from!
there will forever be a mario kart tour shaped hole in my heart. i’m so sad about the end of this era. i really wish they’d just bring it back, nintendo has the money for it… but it seems they don’t care about people enjoying something they made (where you literally do not have to “pay to win”) and would rather focus if cash grabs and money makers. it’s such a sad thing to see and i feel robbed of something that was special and fun and enjoyable to me!

The closest official piece of Mario Kart Tour-related merchandise I can find is this Nintendo Switch case that has Mario Kart Tour artwork on it. Is it pretty much it?

Mario Kart Tour shutdown just like the Ubisoft's The Crew, where the game is online only. And we know what happens when online only games get when the servers shut down.

Some Mario Kart tracks have different names between the English localizations, and I swear I keep seeing stuff that indicates these tracks always use their American names in Tour for some reason, but now that I’m actually looking for a source that says that, I can’t find any mention at all. If anyone seeing this knows, do the following tracks use the left or right names in the EU version of Tour?

• DK Summit / DK's Snowboard Cross
• Cheep Cheep Lagoon / Cheep Cheep Cape
• Rock Rock Mountain / Alpine Pass
• Piranha Plant Slide / Piranha Plant Pipeway
• Wario Shipyard / Wario's Galleon

Before the game shut down, I recorded quite a bit of gameplay. I plan on eventually uploadin' 'em to YouTube; "normal" ones for each day I played, and a "funni edit" video. Whenever people say Mario Kart might introduce more guest drivers in future installment, I always think it's weird to not talk about Mario Kart Tour as mobile is theoretically the most feasible platform to support this kind of idea.

We knew Tour's updates stopped at October 2023 and the service ended three years later. In another timeline, if Nintendo was actually considering the possibility of making guest drivers in order to earn more budget for World, would you support / feel indifferent / oppose it for any reason?
