Next year's Off Season is going to be over the weekend of 29th to 31st of January (2027, obviously...!)

Did anyone go this year? Anyone involved?

I didn't even know about it until i stumbled on whilst doing my shopping on the Saturday.

I'm going to make sure I'm free that weekend. I'd like to exhibit too, maybe. Anyone have any experience??

It’s a queer club night primarily but welcome all lovely friends and allies !! At quarterdeck, underneath Cinque Ports

I'm hoping i will find somewhere to buy some used Europallets in or around Margate/Thanet. Has anyone got any leads on this? Thanking you in advance.

Hey folks. I started Fungineers last year to try to give local folks working on games a way to get together and discuss design, play eachother’s work and so on. We’ve just started up again and we’re going to try and do a monthly at 101 Social in Cliftonville.

You’re welcome to come along whether you’re working on something and want to bring it to playtest, or just wanna see what people are making. It’s a family friendly venue, so older kids welcome - but preferably only if they’re with an interested adult.

Just found out the neighbourhood we are looking to move to is right on the fly path. We're gutted as this is a major setback. The reason we're moving is for peace and quiet, this is certainly not conducive to that.

We're getting ready to pull the trigger on our move now. But we're a bit struck by how much we're starting to feel a deep sense of loss at the thought of leaving. Any words of wisdom or encouragement?

I’m coming down with a group of friends for a Saturday night and we’re looking for lively pubs / bars where we could spend a Saturday evening.

We’ve looked at Faith in Strangers and Margate Beach Club but wanted to get any other recommendations.

Open to lively pub nights / live music / karaoke nights. Anything where we can have some drinks and a laugh

We are having all our windows replaced RIGHT NOW and I'm wondering if anyone knows a local cleaner who could come and do a couple of hours when the builders have finished. It's not too bad, mess wise, so not a major job, but it's in every room.

I am bringing The Claw 2 End The Game to Margate!!

We are currently Fundraising to make the dream a reality.

Lets get Margate on the big screen and help support the Kickstarter!

Any spare change helps make the The Claw 2 End The Game real.

The film follows men playing the arcade crane game as a professional sport!

Thank You
David Gersch

Visiting in a couple of weeks and would like to book somewhere for a Sunday roast that has a nice view if possible.

Or just recommendations for the best roast regardless of a view.

TIA.

Dreamland Margate Bank Holiday August 2026

I've just moved into the area and a bit confused about waste collection - on the council website it says that there are no collections for any type of waste? I was wondering if anyone had some more info.

I'm planning on asking my neighbors but they're out atm and I'm trying to work out what is going on haha any help would be appreciated.

location: just behind the old town

Are there any areas or bars that have photo booths? Not after passport pics, just fun memento pics!

Hi all!
Can anyone recommend a builder to take a look at my kitchen extension?
Thanks!

Sorry, this is not a fun this, or a cheery event either

Has anyone heard of a petition or something we can add our names to?

The waste collection has gotten terrible - where the Rubbish and Recycling both used to be collected every week it now seems that TDC alternate each week. There are no details of any collection on teh TDC website when i our postcode in - WTAF?

https://theisleofthanetnews.com/2026/08/22/thirty-five-residents-send-thanet-council-notice-of-court-action-over-failed-bin-collections/

We live in a low-rise block and pretty much every time in between collections, the rubbish chute gets backed up and the recycling bins for the flat are overflowing. The newly designated Food Waste bin gets filled with inappropriate waste so is therefore completely unfit for food recycling.

I found this petition - Demand Thanet District Council regularly collect recycling.

Please sign, if you are affected by this, or care about Margate/Thanet.

Thank you.

Hi everyone!
I’m seriously considering moving to Margate/Cliftonville from London later this year and would love to hear from people who have been in this situation.
I am a male 40y old, I will be moving on my own, work remotely for a healthcare company and I am originally from Portugal.
I was born near the sea back home and really miss it, I’ve been a few times to Margate and it seems lovely.
I am a big fan of books, coffee shops, live music, photography, cycling, nature, arts in general. Socialist and animal lover. Hoping to adopt a dog once I am settled.
What’s the opinion about making new connections? Does it take a while to build a social circle in there?
I am struggling a bit with loneliness and would be nice to change that.
I am also looking at Faith in Strangers as a place to work a couple of days per week. Has anyone here used it? How’s the atmosphere, meeting new people?
Please give the good, the bad and the ugly of it. I am keen but will be start building a new life from scratch.
Cheers!

Seriously looking into a move to margate. Can anybody on here shed some wisdom about local schools in Garlinge area? Also, if you moved from London, I'd love to hear from you about the move and settling in. Thank you kind folks!

Has a bloody good time down at my favourite seaside places today Margate

As per the title.. I dont really have any freinds outside of my family and wife. Let alone dad freinds.

Does anyone know of any groups in thanet or local aera where dad's get together with thier kids dor big play dates etc..

Bit niche, but hopefully someone will know.

Taking the kid to Dreamland tomorrow, obviously getting them a wristband so they can ride all day - but wondering about the best way of paying for rides when she wants a grown up to go on with her.

Won’t need more than 10 tokens split between Dad/Mum/Gran - wondering if Dreamland really do change their tokens each year, or can I get away with buying 20 tokens (cut price deal), use 10 and keep the other 10 for next summer?

The website does say you can’t do that - but just wondering if you can get away with it? Has anyone done it? Or do they change the token design each year to stop you?

Thanks
