Family isn’t who you’re born with, it's who you die for. It's been 10 years since Mafia III made its debut on October 7, 2016, following Lincoln Clay as he blazes a violent path of revenge through the mob-run city of New Bordeaux in 1968. To celebrate, we're honoring a decade of Lincoln's legacy with a new Steam update bringing quality-of-life enhancements to Mafia III: Definitive Edition, live now. In addition, as part of our ongoing efforts to bring Mafia: The Omertà Collection current-gen updates, Mafia III: Definitive Edition is now available on PlayStation®5 and XBOX Series X|S with 60 FPS gameplay and technical improvements. For a limited time, you can also save 80% on Mafia III: Definitive Edition for PlayStation, XBOX, and Steam as part of an ongoing Mafia franchise sale.*

Whether you've already spent hours methodically eliminating the mobsters who betrayed your surrogate family, or you've yet to experience Lincoln's journey as he wages war on the Italian Mafia, this is the perfect opportunity to immerse yourself in the treacherous underworld of New Bordeaux. Choose your own playstyle—brute force, blazing guns, or stalk-and-kill tactics—to tear down the Mafia, building a new criminal empire with the help of underbosses who may or may not be worthy of your trust.

Mafia III: Definitive Edition includes the main game, all Story DLC (Faster, Baby!, Stones Unturned, and Sign of the Times) and Bonus Packs (the Family Kick-Back Pack and the Judge, Jury & Executioner Weapons Pack) bundled together. It's also included in Mafia: The Omertà Collection's four-game bundle; you can learn more about Mafia: The Omertà Collection here. If you own Mafia: The Omertà Collection on PlayStation®5 and XBOX Series X|S, you'll now have access to your platform's version of Mafia III: Definitive Edition.

Mafia III: Definitive Edition Steam Update Notes - Oct 8

Discussion Who is your favorite protagonist in the Mafia series?

For me, it's hard to choose between Tommy and Vito. Both have great stories, but I'm curious what everyone else thinks. Who's your favorite and why?

Discussion If there are any Mafia 3 developers here why did you ditch your engine? It’s absolutely beautiful especially on PS5 pro so much potential.

And yes, yes I know the unreal engine is more ubiquitous and easy to train new people on and yes I know the lighting in your engine was very strange and lacked global illumination et cetera but one thing that it doesn’t do it stutter all the time like mafia the old country you’ve traded a beautiful engine for a stutter fest

Mafia 3 Try to convince me that this city isn't beautiful and that driving here isn't pure pleasure. You can even have a house with a garage here ;)

Mafia 3 Anyone else lure the Hit Squads/Retaliation Squads in to your rackets?

I LOVE doing this. Especially when it's a large racket with lots of allies. Letting Sal's goons chase me into Alma's warehouse or the brothel in the French Ward to get absolutely wrecked without lifting a finger is so satisfying.

Mafia 3 Recruiting racket informants

• Upvotes

Do you need to wiretap the area around a racket informant in order to recruit him just like you do with racket bosses? I'm asking because I tried to recruit an informant in Vito's district (River Row I believe it's called) and it actually gave me the option to recruit him, but even though I pressed circle, Lincoln just killed him anyways. I'm trying to go for the "flipping 15 racket informants" trophy and I would prefer not to miss anymore of them.

Mafia 3 Ive hit the lull in this game.

I'm at the point where I'm just going some where, killing the boss or destroying the product, over and over. Very tedious. I enjoyed it but now its kind of boring.

Should I quit or keep going?

Mafia 3 [Fanart]Halloween for Linclon & Vito🎃.By Me

I know Friday the 13th and A Nightmare on Elm Street didn't exist yet in 1968, but Lincoln and Vito are just too perfect to dress up as Jason and Freddy (especially Lincoln). Can't wait to see this crossover, so I drew this (forgive my manga art style). Celebrating Halloween early, and happy 10th anniversary to Mafia 3 🎃🦇👻

Mafia 3 One of my favorite things in the entire series is luring the cops into some racket headquarters and all of a sudden it's WW3.

I am taking things very slowly even though I'm 10 hrs into the game (I only did Delray Hollow, River Row and Pointe Verdun) and luring the cops into Perla's in DH or Contraband HQ in RR and it's fuckin MWAH.

Why I'm taking things so slow is because I'm still figuring out which lieutenant to prefer and I'm doing wiretapping and collectibles across the entire map to clean the collectibles.

Hell I'm purposefully not doing briefings that unlock Racket takeover missions because if you don't start that story arc THEY RESPAWN INDEFINITELY AS LONG AS YOU GO AWAY AND RETURN LATER.

Mafia 3 I think the most annoying thing about 3 is... Spoiler

..at the end, Vito doesn't know Barbaro is actually alive. Were Vito and Joe that troublesome together for the Comission to where it was a necessity to separate them? Or, in this case, attempt to execute Joe? Was Joe too volatile? To me, after playing 2, he was a loyal soldier. A grunt. Unless I'm missing something here.
