My daughter was like this. Me coming home felt like we both won the lottery. She had golden retriever energy. Now at 16 i get "bruh, you got my starbies order wrong."

Hey, at least she talks to you!

u/sfearing91 11h ago

Same! Mine is 14 almost 15 and does talk but mostly in grunts and groans. 🤣 miss this little voice

Same. My son is 12 going on mid-life crisis. Nothing he can do is right. Nothing I can do is right. I miss my 2-year-old world class chef/zookeeper/architect...

He’ll come back! That age is so hard. I was such a shit at 12, have grown up to be a decent enough person and I have a fantastic relationship with my parents. A few bumps in high school and college but we just keep getting closer and enjoying the time we get to spend together more every year. He’ll stop knowing it all and won’t be angry that you don’t and can’t fix the world and things will settle out. Brighter years are ahead!

Every time my husband comes home from work, I put on a big show.

I hear his boots on the steps and say “gasp what’s that!! Someone’s here?!?”

The doorknob turns and I walk toward the back door “who do you think it could be?!?”

Husband walks in and I start pumping my arms in the air and chanting “Dada! Dada! Dada!”

Our son is 2.5 and he loves it. The dog gets all riled up, he gets all riled up, Dada gets welcomed home like the champion he is and we all love it.

As a dad with a wife like you, you have no idea how much that means to come home to some days. Makes a guy feel like hes king of the world. My kids are 20 (son) daughter (13). I get a grunt from the boy and I still get a hi dad and a hug from my daughter and a hug from my wife. Its the best still to this day.

Double trouble!! You’re at a tough spot with both of them. My guy is already developing threenager tendencies and I’m like….who are you and where did my sweet baby go!?

I will probably get downvoted for this but it does come from a good place, just a shout from one toddler parent to the other.

I think your toddlers teeth in the front don’t close. Ours has that too and the dentist told us to get rid of the pacifier asap. Last week mine could not bite through his bread. Very frustrating. He is doing surprisingly well without actually.

Unfortunately, OP purely a reposter, so this will not be heard by the maker of the vid. However, good info for any other tot parentals in the comments :)

6

u/JustSherlock 12h ago

It doesn't necessarily mean there is a pacifier. I had an open bite and never had a pacifier.

3

u/whitedaggerballroom 8h ago

My daughter had the same problem. She was dummy (pacifier) obsessed and we finally got rid of them when she was 3.5 years old. Her teeth fixed themselves really fast. She's just turned 5 and her teeth are fine now - no gap.

2

u/Rugkrabber 10h ago

It doesn’t have to be from a pacifier, or their thumb even. Sometimes it can be just genetics. Additionally child’s teeth are smaller, the next teeth are bigger and in some people the gaps will disappear then. Which is exactly what happened to me.

u/Nealpatty 10h ago

We cold turkey-ed our kid of a paci. Took 2-3 days and she forgot all about it

“What do you do for a living?”

“I steal videos from the internet and post them on Reddit to karma farm.”

“Fucking tool.”

Worth about a billion dollars ever time. That's so awesome

14

u/Slim01111 12h ago

Yeah, kids are expensive.

1

u/babble0n 11h ago

But worth every penny.

u/MindlessContract 10h ago

That car is so terrifying next to the tiny child

4

u/AccordingFisherman45 12h ago

My kid turned 18 recently. I miss those days.

4

u/Sea_Rooster_9402 10h ago

The actual dream is not being away from your family 5 days a week 👌

16

u/el_sandino 13h ago

So sweet and wholesome, he should drive a car that lets him see small kids from the driver seat

4

u/Rasberrycello 9h ago

Exactly this. Imagine how crushed he'll when his child ends up crushed under the wheels of an unnecesscarily giant truck, potentially even his own.

Not even half as much as his kid will be.

u/D4ng3rd4n 13h ago

This comment is so sweet and so wholesome. You should post more from a seat of compassion

8

u/el_sandino 12h ago

Compassion is not driving in ridiculous trucks/SUVs that can easily harm or kill other road users.

Also I admire your ninja editing skills ;)

This right here the energy I get from my young boys puts my heart over the moon.

u/mjsoctober 8h ago

My youngest is 15 now, he gets annoyed when I reminisce about him greeting me like this when he was little. I miss my little buddy.

5

u/aHunterMustHuntt 11h ago

this is cute but always makes me feel uneasy and uncomfortable when people post their children’s faces on the internet…

2

u/Sae_Ray 5h ago

Yeah same. Always censor your kids faces if you're posting them online

2

u/flyinggazelletg 12h ago

Sick boos on boards

u/mrselfdestruct066 11h ago

My youngest boy's voice recently changed. I'm gonna miss it so much. I didnt take enough videos.

u/Past-North-4131 12h ago

Sooo glad I don't have kids. That looks like a financial crisis right there. I'm good. Cute kid tho. But ya no

-2

u/edencathleen86 11h ago

I'm right there with you. I'm so glad that I don't have to come home to children. Sounds exhausting and gross. I prefer coming home and not having to do shit with little monsters lol

0

u/Lasairean 8h ago

While this is adorable it would be even more adorable if this moment and the child wasn’t posted online.

You don’t need to broadcast and share ever moment online. Somethings can be private, more special, genuine and meaningful.

If your kids teeth look like this, please take the bottle or pacifier or whatever he’s sucking on away immediately.
