Discussion I love the Wasteland setting. What are your thoughts on watching Mad Max 1?
The Mad Max movies I've seen so far are 2, Beyond Thunderdome, Fury Road, and Furiosa, mostly because I really love the wasteland setting. Do you think I'd still enjoy the original Mad Max?

Miscellaneous Became a George Miller fan through Mad Max, so I checked out Three Thousand Years of Longing...
Honestly, it just felt way too elusive for me.. I couldn't really wrap my head around it. Part of me couldn't help thinking George Miller clearly had so much he wanted to do.

Mad Max Game When Opportunity Knocks š„
I keep seeing posts from different games. This is one I play called Crossout. It has to be based on Mad Max because it is post-apocalyptic setting and all vehicle based. You can build your own vehicles from the frame up and then battle against other players or npc's. Hope this is ok.

Mad Max Game Smoke On The Horizon
Here's another one with a bigger map, showing a post-apocalyptic shipyard. The game itself has a pretty steep learning curve but ultimately a blast to play. You can use wheels, tracks, hovers, mechanical legs and combine them with machine guns, shotguns, rockets, mines, the combinations are almost endless. Enjoy!

Discussion Is there any truth to the rumors about a Mad Max TV show?
I've been hearing rumors that a Mad Max TV series might be in the works. Is there any truth to this?
I really enjoyed Furiosa, but since it underperformed at the box office, I was genuinely worried we might not get another installment in the franchise. I really hope this rumor turns out to be true.

Discussion Has anyone else met some of the Road Warrior cast?
I've met Vernon Wells twice, Bruce Spence and Virginia Hey, they all seemed nice to talk to and I don't think many of the people getting autographs were Mad Max fans.

Discussion Sarse and Scuttle
This has probably been asked before, but what happened to them after the car crash, I understand they weren't really part of the main story. But you see Roop briefly again in the hospital and Charlie again.

Furiosa's arm stories.
Lately I've been obsessed with Furiosa's mechanical arm so I've done some digging and here are some cool stories I want to share with you:
In the storyboards (for Fury Road) they had no idea what the arm was going to look like so they drew Furiosa with a long sleeve holding a fake arm. In 2003 when the production of Fury Road fell over, production designer Colin Gibson build Furiosa's arm himself and gave it to a local who was an amputee. That person might still be walking around Namibia with Furiosa's original prosthetic.
What's interesting is that the final design of that prosthetic was inspired by fake arms made by men injured in the Hutu and Tutsi Rwandan conflict. They made their own arms from found objects as well.
There were 6 initial arm designs, one made by WETA workshop (which required 3 puppeteers), one even made by George Miller himself who made his from paper mache. He was asked to make something that worked.
All of those designs had some good elements and it was Matt Boug's job to take all the good bits and make them into one final arm.
Canonically, Furiosa salvages her arm from High Master Black Thumb's contraption.
There's a lot of backstory that was never revealed. High Master Black Thumb suffered from Multiple Sclerosis that over time limited movement. That's why he built himself hydraulic/precision arms to work on vehicles as his disease progressed. He was technically Furiosa's mentor when it comes to all things mechanical (more on that later). As his disease progressed his walker was fused with a wheelchair until he ultimately died and Furiosa took one of his arms.
But originally, Furiosa was supposed to have built that arm by herself from scratch because she was an incredibly, naturally talented mechanic since childhood (all this info comes from early Furiosa scripts). The talent for tinkering and building things came from her mother who was the Green Place's chief mechanic. All that's left of Furiosa's mother true talent in the film was the fact she could swap motorcycle wheels and fuel tanks, though she was depicted as having her own workshop in the Green Place where she'd work on bikes.
Regardless, Furiosa's affinity for all things mechanical was something that came in handy when she ended up in the Citadel, she became a very prolific mechanic herself which caught Jack's attention who would later bring her into the War Rig's crew where she would learn the art of Road War on top of her mechanical skills. You can kind of see why she would become top dog in Immortan's army, she had all the skills necessary.
Of course we don't really see that in the films, just bits and pieces scattered all over that don't indicate her original calling, but regardless, she was supposed to build her own arm because she got that talent from her mother.

Miscellaneous Bad Bob, ReBoot's Mad Max parody episode, is now up on YouTube, remastered in HD
Fun fact: Brendan McCarthy, Fury Road's concept artist and co-writer, previously worked on ReBoot in the same capacity, and this episode was inspired by an unprompted drawing he did of main villain Megabyte as a truck.

Discussion Just watched Fury road today and it's mind blowing
I love the lore and constant car chase. The dangers of the dune keeps on coming and coming until the climax its amazing. Also i love this scene where he looks like he's getting plowed, the war boy was like "look ma no hands".

Miscellaneous I found out my two year old likes Fury Road
I had the movie on in the background while doing dishes and she pulled up her tower to watch along. We finished the rest in the living room. She's now doing louder engine noises when she plays with her toy cars.
