I have an MUN this weekend and I just got my allocation and im in a crisis committee. The committee is INTERPOL and I'm representing Jensen Huang and the adgenda isnt out yet. I have previous experience in traditional committee, how do I prepare for a crisis committee.
Just got back from Edison MUN conference this weekend, and, oh my god, was it truly awful. And i mean truly. Chairs didn't seem to know how MUN worked (or work the monitor), other delegates were assholes, and the placing seemed SO targetted and biased. I don't think anyone other than Huntington dels won (I'm from SM if it matters). Some random from my committee ended up getting best, and me and my partner genuinely both did not know who they were. Definitely one of the worst run conferences I've ever been to. What a waste of a weekend.
Sorry for the rant, but any of y'all have similar experiences? I'm curious if it was just a me thing.
Hey yll I live in Houston Texas and I want to get into mun but there are barely any mun conferences here (that I’ve found) so I’m reaching out to see if anyone has any recs on what I could do?Are there any online options? Also side question but does the could try I pick give me more or less chance of getting an award?
Hi! I applied to LIMUN as a delegate and was recently accepted. Before paying the fees, I’d like to confirm that the conference is legitimate and trustworthy and not a scam.
Has anyone here attended LIMUN before? If so, what was your experience like? This will be my first international MUN conference, and I’m still a beginner, so any advice or insights would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hello, I am 15 (m) and it's gonna be my first MUN. But even though it's my first time, they gave me an intermediate level committee, it's COP31 and my country is Argentina. And also I don't know anything like they gave me an study guide for beginners but still I can't understand the committee's own study guide. Our teacher said they will help us for the MUN but it never happened (The teacher helped everyone but not me). I just wanna know what sources can I use? How can I study it. Because if I'm not wrong, there are 10 COPs main topic.
Hello, I’m new to MUN and I have only gone to one so far, but bc of how nervous I was i didn’t say my speech out of fear of saying something wrong. I kinda regret not giving it a chance but at the same time not, bc I got to see how well the speeches were well written. I wanted to ask if anyone has any advice for writing opening speeches for GA. Like what are some things to look out for and avoid in speeches and if someone can kinda give an example of a speech they did it would be so helpful!!!. I also have a conference coming up which I’m super nervous and I’m trying to mentally prepare myself especially since last time I was so mentally drained from socializing with people 😵💫 as a introvert to the point that I fell asleep when I got home. I really want to improve my public speaking and being able to socialize with people. Any advice would be appreciated!!! Seriously 😞
Okay so my country is canada and the agenda is could diplomacy have avoid the war between chile, peru and bolivia the simulation date is february 14, 1879 (if u dont know its a war that happened between chile, bolivia and peru cuz of some thingys).
Idk how to even do the research this is my first MUN in the past and how can my country even do something??? It was literally founded 20 years before this war started.
I was planning my outfit for my first mun in a while. I thought of admining. Just a little context, the mun is happening in kuwait and the dress code is western formal and arabic formal. Would it be too much if I did traditional wear on day one then a suit on day two and three?
I'm in political committee and I'm lowkey scared because, except for people from my school, I won't know anybody there 😭 I need to make some oomfs
a little intro I guess??
my name is marta, they/she or she/they, 16 – I'm a junior in biol-chem-eng class in poland, infp, I love marvel, yellowjackets, typology, pluribus, saw franchise and stranger things and I love art and crafts and everything that's creative. I'm autistic so I'm sooooo fucking scared that I won't survive BERMUN because of overstimulation 💔 and I really want to go because it seems like an awesome experience and I can't go in my senior year because I will have to study for my matura exams (I think it's like SATs/GCSE?) so yeah, I would love to have some friends there, especially in my committee 😓🤞
Hey all! I’m participating in the upcoming NCSK MUN, and i’ve been assigned the IP (International Press) committee, with Times Now as my portfolio. This is my first time doing this particular portfolio, so i wanted to hear from people who have experience with IP committees or have represented media houses in MUNs before.
is IP actually interesting?
what exactly is expected of an IP delegate?
what should I keep in mind while researching and preparing?
are there any common mistakes that IP delegates make, especially first-timers?
what actually helps someone stand out in IP? is it the quality of articles, interviews, questioning delegates, creative coverage, or something else?
if you’ve represented times now or another indian news outlet in an IP committee, what advice would you give me?
I genuinely want to prepare well and make the most of this experience, so any advice, personal experiences, resources, or things you wish you had known before your first IP committee would be really helpful.
Thank u
I am here looking for advice. I am interested in attending the CWMUN conference in New York in 2027. I am hearing from past delegates who have attended - was it worth it?
Is it possible to just attend the conference and pay the entrance fee? And not the classic or smart packet to stay with the delegation. It is quite expensive, even with the available grant.
My first conference is in like two days and I’ve only been in MUN for about a month. I don’t think this club is right for me with all that goes into it. Personally it is just so incredibly overwhelming and stressful with making resolutions in like an HOUR during conferences, making position papers, making an opening speech, and doing a DISGUSTING amount of research in only a few weeks when I have other academically related things to do. I am starting to really struggle with understanding the perspective of getting to know people and improving public speaking and learning about global issues now because (aside from global issues because those are actually quite important) it’s really not worth it for all this anxiety I’m getting to the point of crying at the mere thought of being at that conference
hi! i’ve recently transferred to a new school, and before this i’ve done RCMUN, GLIMSC, HarvardMUN, BUAMUN, and some other smaller MUN conferences. The new coaches for MUN don’t know me well and are selective of who gets to go to conferences. I’m well aware that i’m capable of attending these conferences, but i don’t know how to strongly show that through my work. Any tips ?
