Im in a pretty early state in the game, having around 16 hours already and i already got the basics of combat, gathering, monster hunting and missions. However, i have hit a "wall" in my learning when it comes to the "weapons tech tree" and how to properly build my hunter
I have so far been doing a cycle of going into a hunt, roaming and collecting stuff, exploring and bullying monsters until they turn to materials or just recently using traps to capture them.
After that i go into the smith and check what new cool weapon i can o want to craft. But i have learned that to unlock new stuff i have to hunt things, what a shocker, but how this unlocking actualy unfolds still puzzles me.
Do i just have to hunt a monster once? Two, three times? Do i have to get a certain material from them, complete a mission? You get the idea.
Then there is the building phase, what actually goes into making stuff synergise, what works with what and how does it translate to gameplay. What does the damage elements actually do, is bigger base damage really the focus or is elemental dmg better? what does affinity mean and stuff of the sorts.
Up until today i have being mostly picking stuff on the first thing i can se, being the resistance of armor (for example if it has fire or water res) the overall damage of the weapon and just brite forcing my way through the game, but after seeing other post talking about their builds pushed me to ask this as because im having a blast with the game, and want to learn how to actually engage more with its core systems.
