I saw a post recently on here about someone moving from Vermont to Maine. There was a comment saying to avoid driving thru New York state.

I received a job offer and am considering moving up there for a little while. I have several fireams and what some of these states would consider "assault rifles" and "high capacity" magazines. I would be using a moving company to haul the majority of my stuff , but i dont like the idea of them handling my firearms so i would drive those up.

I dont see any way I could avoid driving thru NY.

Any help or insight I could get on how to approach this would be appreciated. Ive never moved out of state before.
