Might be a weird question, but I've never really used Lutris. My concern is along the lines of accidentally running EXEs outside of Lutris like I can if I just installed WINE. Does Lutris do that as well? Or does it only do things within the app when set to it?

Says I need to update it.

So, I downloaded the Mods of Mistria Installer for Linux, but when I double click it doesn't open. Worse, it says there is nothing inside. I did got to open it, but it says there is no mod installed when I have two.

I installed Lutris on Ubuntu 26.04 to play Anno 1800 and Diablo 3, using Ubisoft Connect and Battle.net.

I am using a LenovoT14s connected to a docking station with a 2560x1080 monitor as primary display.

The scale in the Ubuntu display options for all monitors is set to 100%

DPI scaling in Lutris for Uconnect is set to 96 DPI - (automatically after install). When i launch Ubisoft Connect, it is very tiny - scaling is obviously wrong. Same with Battle.net

When i set the scaling DPI for Ubisoft Connect to 192 manually in the runner options, the size and scaling seems to be correct. BUT when i try to launch ANNO 1800 from Uconnect, it refuses to run correctly. When launching the game, the game window jumps between montitors for a few seconds and then it settles on the primary display, but with a very very blurry picture not readable at all. Sometimes it does not even lauch and crashes during startup.

But after hours of troubleshooting, i found a weird workaround - by accident. When i hot plug the USB-C from the docking station after system boot, Uconnect scales correctly with a 96 DPI setting. (with the manually set 192 it is way to big now - but had the correct size before the hot plug) And also ANNO 1800 launches and plays just fine. Battle.net behaves exactly the same.

What i need to do now is, after a system reboot, i need to disconnect and connect the docking station, and then all scaling and games work just fine. ANNO 1800 only works when the Ubisoft Connect interface has the correct size with a 96 DPI setting, any different combination causes issues.

Does anyone have an idea what the hot plug triggers and what i need to do to make it work without disconnecting and connecting the dock after every restart?

I have been using lutris for years now and I have never had any problems with it, it has been really great in all aspects of use.

I was looking over the PlayStation5 main menu and the games list, and its really cool how whenever I however over a game, the music start playing and screen fills with the games ambience.

So I was only wondering is there any way to replicate that, or at least try to make it's ui better?

I have a global pre-launch script that pauses my gif wallpaper and a global post-exit script that resumes the wallpaper. I have “Minimize client when a game is launched” enabled. When I run a game (with Steam as the runner, although I have not tested this with a non-Steam game yet), Lutris minimizes for a moment, but reopens after a few seconds. Once it reopens, the “Stop” button in the bottom left of the screen changes to say “Play,” and my post-exit script runs, even though the game is still running. Is this expected behavior or a bug? I am more concerned about my post-exit script; I would like for it to run when I have actually closed the game I am playing.

Hello im still new to this whole gaming on linux so im sorry if i dont understand much but ive encountered an issue trying to open street fighter 4 that i downloaded from gnarly, like i did everything right but when i press "play" it goes to "launching" then "stop" and finally "play" again as if it didnt open at all

I am currently on LMDE7, using Lutris to run my GOG games with ProtonGE, and it works great!

However, some games I want to play are Steam exclusive. I do not like Steam because of the DRM, but I know there isn't another way to play certain games without it (I wanna play PAYDAY2 or Unturned for example).

But I know that certain launcher, like Lutris, Heroic or Faugus give you the ability to get Steam games through their API. I know it's not a DRM-free solution, but still better than using Steam itself.

I am confused tho, because I do not know what exactly gets installed through the API.

Is it just the game itself? Do some Steam libraries or files get installed?

And also, how does this then integrate with Steam itself? I personally want zero integration, or at least minimal. I just want to be able to play the offline once installed, and then also multiplayer sometimes, with updates being avaiable.

I do not want Steam to track my hours, achievements or the game I am playing showing on my profile. I do not want Steam installed. I just want the game installed.

I just don't know how exactly Lutris handles this, so, if someone has any advice or experience with this, please share or help.

Hello guys. I have posted the same question in r/SteamDeck already but I'm gonna put it here as well just in case.

So basically, Im trying to play a visual novel using Luna Translator to translate it and the way I've been doing it is running both the game and LT .exe files in the same wine prefix with lutris. It worked fine before but I've used a windows laptop for some time and partially played the game on there. Now when I try to run the .exe file with lutris it seems to not be able to access steam save files or something and I lose my progress. It's not a problem when I open the game with steam, but then I can't use LT as it doesn't see the game.

Is there any way to let the game's .exe access its steam save files? Or a better way to make it work as a whole?

Genuine question, I’ve got to be missing a detail here. If you’re installing the 2001 2-disk CD release of GTA 3, you can search the database in Lutris and the tool will help you through the install. There isn’t a similar option for installing Vice City, though. Is there a specific reason for this?

I'm trying to play the Witcher 2, but when I run the download it will finish downloading and then just end without running the install / trying to launch the game will error with a message saying "launcher not found."

Seems kinda obvious that there is no launcher because the installer never ran, but hiw do I fix this / am I doing something wrong?

Currently getting DCS running with proton runner through lutris, however it ends up reporting that it is cpu bound (drops from 200fps to 40) whenever the mouse is moved. The closest report I've seen to resolving this indicated adding `LD_PRELOAD=“”` as a launch option, but I cannot seem to set the env var to an empty string in Lutris.

I'm not entirely convinced it would work if I could, but at this point just trying to throw anything at the problem in the hopes I don't have to work out how to fix this properly. Any advice would be appreciated, either to the underlying problem or the workaround I'm trying to test.

I have checked every permission and everything related to directory permissions including ACL, but still can't figure it out. Please Help

How can I run the Golden Age 3.6.8 mod using modengine2_launcher.exe? On the Steam Deck via Lutris, I can only launch modengine2_launcher.exe, not StartGoldenAge_Offline.bat. How do I run StartGoldenAge_Offline.bat within Lutris, or otherwise use modengine2_launcher.exe to launch the mod?

I recently tried Lutris for the first time, and almost everything went perfectly. I tested something simple—I installed *LEGO Star Wars: The Clone Wars*—and it runs great, except for two issues.

First, the camera is positioned too high; instead of being focused on the characters, it’s hovering above them, making gameplay awkward.

The second problem is character movement. They move at normal speed when going forward, backward, left, or right, but for some reason, they move extremely slowly when moving diagonally, which also makes playing uncomfortable.

I’m not sure what could be wrong, and since I only used it for the first time a few days ago, I don't know much about the configuration. Maybe changing the Proton version I'm using would fix it?
