Community 🌐 🎃 It’s that time again… Thriller Challenge 2026! 🧟♂️
Every year on Halloween, our fandom tries to get the Thriller single up the charts around the world. The song only peaked at #4 in 1984, and we hope to see it reach #1! This year is particularly special because it’s dedicated to the challenge’s founder and longtime fan, AJ (RIP 🕊️).
Like always, you can stream the song and listen through curated playlists, buy it on iTunes or Amazon, and request it on radio stations. There’s also designated streaming parties that will count each attendee’s listen as a stream this year!
Ways you can mess this up:
♦️ Don’t stream while logged out
♦️ Don’t use bots or automated streaming
♦️ Don’t use a VPN
♦️ Don’t loop the song
♦️ Don’t skip the song before it finishes
Visit the Thriller Challenge website for more details and spread the word! ✨

Community 🌐 🤍 Welcome to Loving Michael Jackson ✨
Hi everyone 👋🏻
With so many new people joining lately, I felt this would be a good time to talk a little about what this subreddit is meant to be.
There are already plenty of places online where discussions about Michael and his family become cynical, hostile, invasive, or focused on negativity. This community is meant to be different and not revolve around that atmosphere.
We hope this space feels fun and open to connection, while still maintaining basic maturity and respect for one another.
🌟 What You’ll Find Here
We welcome a wide range of topics and discussions, including:
🔹 Appreciation and tribute posts
🔹 Music, performances, and favorite eras
🔹 History, interviews, collections, and rare finds
🔹 Games, polls, memes, and community engagement
🔹 Thoughtful discussions or personal experiences connected to Michael
🔹 Respectful conversations surrounding misinformation or harmful narratives
🔹 Fan art & creations inspired by Michael’s artistry and legacy
🗒️ Quick Note About Tone & Respect
Discussion is welcome here, but not every conversation has to be overly positive or serious.
We encourage engagement that’s grounded and responsible rather than hostile, mocking, sensationalized, or scandal-driven.
You can express yourself while being mindful of the atmosphere this community was built around.
🕊️ A Shared Appreciation
Personal connection and interpretation are natural parts of being a fan. But it’s also important to remember that Michael was a real person, not a fictional character or mythical projection.
One of the best parts of this community is seeing people from all generations and different parts of the world come together through their love for his artistry, humanity, and legacy.
Thank you all for making this space feel welcoming, thoughtful, and full of love ✨

Collection 💿 Interview Magazine, 1982.
The cover is super cool, plus I adore this interview, so to own a physical copy of it makes me so happy. I have to mention that I bought this on eBay back in 2020, so when it arrived, I messaged the seller & thanked her because she took such good care of it, haha. I was so grateful. 🥹

Other Going through a hard time, but thanks to Michael's music, I have been able to get through these days.
Two weeks have passed since my dad was hospitalized for a stroke. He is doing well; we acted in time, and he is recovering, but his condition remains very delicate.
Between all this, Michael's music is one of the things that keeps my mind clear and deals with anxiety and fear.
Dangerous is my favorite album, and I can listen to it more than once in a day when suddenly everything feels difficult. Will You Be There and Keep The Faith are the songs that gave the strength to keep going.
And I made many playlists with songs from his other albums based on the mood I want to evoke.
His music just have something special that no other artists has.
I'm so thankful for his art...

Opinion 💭 The outfit Michael should've worn if Al Capone had made it onto BAD instead of Smooth Criminal and gotten its own short film:
Outfit reference: Moonwalker (1988), "Smooth Criminal" sequence.
He looked so tough in it... Hot take, but I actually prefer it over the white suit from Smooth Criminal, which is still badass and iconic! 😩🔥

Discussion 💬 Why do you think MJ rejected George Michael’s anti apartheid charity song?
George here says it was because Michael didn’t want anything political going on, but that seems odd to me. This is the same guy who sang Man in the Mirror, Black or White, Heal the World, Earth Song, They Don’t Care About Us among others. And it’s an issue of racism, obviously a major theme in many of Michael’s message songs.
I’ve seen many of the haters said it’s because Michael was a greedy fencesitter and only supported causes that were “safe” to advocate for or had to do with him (they claim TDCAU was that).
Obviously, we here don’t think that, but what’s your interpretation or even facts on what happened here?

Community Spotlight 🪧 A little project I've been working on
What's up Soldiers of L.O.V.E! If you've been on other subreddits, Maybe even this very own subreddit, you've most likely seen the posts about Guilters, that get flooded whenever a new fan comes in, and doesn't know where to post?
Well I made a subreddit to combat that r/NewPsychologyofMJsub!
I've made this subreddit because a lot of other subreddits don't like it when all that negativity floods their subs, and that's very fair, so I made this to divert the posts to me!
Its only been around for a month, but it's been growing very quickly, and I want it to grow more! I'm not one to just keep yapping about how great the sub is, I don't like that.
So why not come on over, join our community of people who love MJ with all their heart, just like you do, and see for yourself our own community?

Question❔ any updates on the upcoming doc???
I remember seeing the a teaser for an upcoming doc narrated by an "insider" (haven't checked his background so I don't know for sure) about MJ's time in the J5 and at Studio 54 for The Wiz. If memory serves, it was also supposed to drop in October but I haven't heard much since.....does anyone have updates? Ty in advance🥹
