Lucky owner
Great specs on the Emira

….and it was AWSOME! Also fun fact the Emira and GTR are the exact same width.
We all know the audio in the Elise is terrible and needs some aftermarket accessories to make it better. The previous owner had an amp installed in the trunk, and the audio shop who installed it left so much extra wiring it’s crazy
I’m in the process of putting the amp behind the seats on the shelf (no net there), and am amazed how much extra length of wire is in the car. Surely it will be faster now with that weight removed. The third photo is after I pulled all the wires out of the trunk through the engine bay.
Couple photos of the car just because

Is it a good idea to get an Elise with this high mileage? The car looks stunning, owner seems very transparent, things like the head gasket (1.8 Rover K-Engine) have also been replaced. The car comes in british racing green with yellow racing stripes, has a Komo-Tec exhaust system. The owner is the first owner actually and the car has a complete service history at Lotus.
My question: is there anything substantial that could go wrong with such a vehicle? Rust of the body and chassis will definitely not be a problem I guess. We have a fully equipped car workshop at home, thus fixing things wont be a big deal. The owner wants 32 000€ here in Austria.

I was considering a 2026 V6 Emira and wanted to get feedback on what dealers are expecting with respect to MSRP? How much under can you buy one for in the US?

Hi all,
Looking for a bit of advice on the below.
My S2 Exige has thrown up the fault codes below all at once after a slightly spirited drive over the weekend.
- P0A00 Motor Electronics Coolant Temperature Sensor Circuit
- P000A A Camshaft Position Slow Response Bank 1
- P0600 Serial Communication Link
I’ve done a bit of digging and have a good idea how to deal with the temperature sensor code, but I’m a little unsure how best to approach the other two.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated, or even a push in the right direction for resolving them!
Thanks in advance.

Didn’t want to take apart half the dash to remove the cage so I just decided to take snips to it.

Just an incredible bit of custom fabrication I happened across earlier today. An imported Series 1 Elise with a Ford Sigma Ecoboost engine swap. The clamshell was off because it was literally their first road test.

Hard to find the exact coolant, the forums said I can use the pictured coolant but I’d appreciate a second opinion. I also bought a replacement cap
As titled. Im wondering if any long term s3 elise owners can chime in on this. Im picking up a 2021 final edition elise next week, the previous owner had it color wrapped before and has it removed before transfering to me, and he strongly suggests getting some protection for the front clam and rocker panel/side skirts from rock chips.
But even those alone are not cheap to do them in a shop. So wondering how serious would the rock chips be? Or if someone tried precut PPF and putting them on themselves? I see Aliath on ebay is selling those.

1970 lotus 7 s3. 1.6L Ford.
My father passed away last year and he really wanted to keep his car in the family. Today I finally got it shipped to my place. He bought it new in 1970/71 and I remember him taking us for rides in it when we were kids. He loved this car. I'll be the next caretaker until I pass it down to the next generation in our family.

After having had an early S2 back in Europe 15 years ago (a 2002 with the Rover, 135r transmission), I always fondly remembered this car’s feel. Telepathic was the word.
Long story short, I’ve owned a lot of cars in the meantime, culminating with 2 911’s: a 997.2 and a 991.2 S.
I’ve always used my sports cars as daily’s, and the 911 were perfect: bike rack, baby then kid drop-off, customer visits, canyon runs, the works.
Getting more and more appealed by tracking, I’ve started modifying the 911. There were great (grip, stability, power), but with some limitations (camber, mass); as they say “there is no substitute”. And it’s true, you can’t “substitute” a Porsche, but you can get something different.
After completely burning my calipers in 3 track days and accepting a job farther away, I decided to get a daily, and a dedicated sport/track car.
Initially going with a Cayman, I decided to get back to lightness. My heart was set. After a lot of digging, I stumbled thanks to a friend on this local Exige S for a great price. Immediately spent thousands to refresh suspension, brakes, address maintenance and I sent it to the track.
Needless to say, I love the car. I’m 5s slower than with the 991, but much more engaged, and more to learn. I have a lot to understand, get familiar again with the platform, and then go for upgrades!
Right now the car has full monoballs, Nitron 2 ways, ton of Inokinetic goodies, reverie aero etc.
Glad to be back!

If you havent had the chance to actually take your Lotus to the track.... your missing out on owning a Lotus.
I cannot stress how well this car drives. It is insanity. Also your pretty much always going to be the only Lotus there. These cars are for driving not just looking at 😉

Hello everyone!
I'm in the process of buying a new 2026 Emira SE V6 and should be able to pick it up in a couple of days (its currently getting PPF-ed). As part of the process, the dealership shared an option for a "Lotus Care Select" plan. You can see the plan attached.
My question: Does this plan seem valuable or reasonable to those of you who've owned your Emira for some time? I'm lucky enough to have a Lotus dealership close by so that would help with making use of it but I'm also not sure if the sorts of repairs they're pitching make sense based on the car and my expected driving habits.
Context that might matter:
• I have no plans to track the car. Spirited driving certainly and it will be my daily driver.
• Most years I average between 6-7k miles.
• I'm maybe 15 min away from the Lotus dealership in Texas.
• The car will be garage kept and my work has a parking garage (meaningful because of the Texas heat).
• I can do my own oil change but I only have ramps and I'm not exactly thrilled to crawl under it and take the skid plate off every time but I'm sure I could manage.
Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated and I can't wait to take delivery and get out there!

Everyone, I have an opportunity at getting a plus two that needs a full restoration minus drivetrain. I'm thinking rest are my. I'm on the North American side of the pond so I'm wondering what people think would be a decent drive train to put in there. Minimum 5 speed and of course I want the shifter fall in the right spot. I know what I would like but it's not going to happen! Please give me some thoughts preferably not Japanese but it has to be Japanese let me know.

I love cars, and I'm in a position to own another toy, and my heart is set on the Lotus Elise. I'm currently engaging in a weight loss program so that I can fit in it, but I have one real concern...
I'm not particularly tall at 6ft, but I have a very long torso for my height. When I'm in a Miata, you can't close the roof. Even with the roof off, I can't reasonably drive it because the top bar across the windshield interferes with my vision. I understand seat lowering brackets are pretty easy, but do you think that will be enough? I never intend to drive the car with the roof on.
Thanks folks.
