Like many of you, I have been looking for a better job and not having much luck. I met with a career counselor today and he recommended not working at home in my job search and instead setting aside dedicated times and always getting out of the house when I work in this project.
It reminded me of when I was in a job search club previously so I thought I'd post here and see if there is any interest in this sort of endeavor. Some ideas / principals:
- meet for an hour or two at a location near Hollywood to get feedback and work independently on job applications and bounce ideas off each other
- meet at a cafe, library, park, or community center
- low pressure to interact. If you want to work independently it can just be a dedicated space weekly to get out and about when working on this project
- industry agnostic but for reference I am looking for work in the architecture, engineering, amd construction field
- no agenda. I don't have time or energy to really develop a structure for running a "meeting" so unless someone wants to pick up that mantle, everyone can bring their own agenda and ask for help if needed
If you're interested or have any ideas, comment here or send a DM! Happy hunting!
