WE DID IT! We reverse-engineered the Linux kernel with AI and made it open source. Introducing LinuxCraft 🚀

After an entire weekend of running 19 autonomous Claude Opus 5.5 and GPT 6-Astra agents and burning an irresponsible amount of tokens, we're proud to announce LinuxCraft.

A 100% free, open-source, clean-room reimplementation of the Linux kernel.

We achieved something incredible:

✅ 100% feature parity with Linux

✅ Process scheduling, memory management, file systems, eBPF

✅ TCP/IP stack and KVM virtualization

✅ Native ELF binary and .ko module support

✅ x86_64, ARM64, and RISC-V architectures

✅ No subscriptions. No paywalls. Free forever (GPLv2 enforced).

We even managed to reproduce the original source code almost line by line.

Our biggest breakthrough came when we discovered a git repository containing the entire source code:

https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git

Linux fan-made flag

This flag for the Free software movement!

(Another banger speech)

The ideological sense of our freedom that made us great, we are loosing it.

The culture and ideas of freedom that kept the door open to an free world which is now being infested by big corporate.

People nowadays are not as ideological as once they were. Remeber, your switch to linux can be of many reason and i respect that but one and the foremost important thing is freedom.

Now only freedom but the ethical and moral aspect of our community regarding the social issues in mainstream society.

I urge you to feel the sense of freedom in the FOSS software you are using, try to use FOSS as mush as possible though we understand the use of many properitery software.

Respect other people and there freedom and privacy

And try to contribute to foss project weather it be gnome. Kde, linux kernel, gnu software if possible.

Bloating Windows apparently was not enough

Don't get me wrong. I think that Windows defender is actually one of the best things that Windows has going for it right now if we compare it to Teams and Copislop.

I just find it funny that Linux throughout it's entire life has been snubbed by these tech giants and they start giving a f* once it becomes essential to their business/infra. Just like when Torvald complained that Nvidia was notoriously uncooperative with its open-source ecosystem until they realized that they probably shouldn't do that. Why? Because a huge percentage of the world wide servers are Linux based. And guess what is on those servers (Hint, Nvidia GPUs)

Is Debian best on ternary (base 3) or quaternary (base 4) computers?
